There aren't any refreshments. Perhaps I will take a hip flask of gin to get me through.

Right, REALLY going to get off sofa and do some jobs now. Really am. Right now. This minute.

Sheds75 · 02/04/2008 11:02

Ellie the Gin sounds good, I was hoping that by tomorrow I would actualy be able to have a G&T (albeit a small one) along with my selection of cheese and pate!!! guess the Ice will have to wait in the freezer

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 11:03

when i got DH home yesterday one of the first things he said was that we dont have any champagne!! And if i was going to BF i couldn't have any at all....is this true?!? I thought half glass ok?

Carey87 · 02/04/2008 11:04

Im having lazy day too! And I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking of sex

Had it last night (which I think is what set of that major contraction!) and I was gagging for it again this morning! DP had christmas and birthday come at once iyswim probably TMI for some!

Our trvel system has arrived! We got the mothercare Trenton Deluxe, I really liked the size of it as I'm ony 5'2! Baby monitor, its the tommee tippee one with the mattress sensor (saved my little brothers life when he stopped breathing, so was a must for me personally). Mosses basket and stand, but the forgot the mattress for the cotbed

At least now I can properly relax!!! Come on baby!! Out, NOW!!!

Scorpio I am horny as hell atm. Have jumped on poor DP a couple of times.
Yes I am a first timer. I get random strong contractions all day everyday now, but yesterday was the kicker for me with hours of contractions getting closer and closer and then... nothing.
Paracetomal is the only thing I have as the hospital told me to cope and be brave until the magic hour of contractions 5 mins and less apart comes along.
I was swept thoroughly on monday. I was due yesterday.
-is calm-

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 11:08

Carey - i wanted that monitor but my friend gave me this: this so that saved me all that money!

Carey87 · 02/04/2008 11:18

Oh wow! That looks really good! It was pricy, but we got a load of vouchers for xmas so we decided to buy it with them, otherwise we would never have been able to afford

You can drink when bf. Unless you get totally bladdered the amount that makes it through to milk is very very small, plus it leaves the milk at the same rate it leaves the bloodstream so if you have one small drink there won't be any alcohol at all left after an hour or so.

Sheds75 · 02/04/2008 11:22

right off shopping again!!

catch up later

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 11:29

Thanks PAL

Peachy · 02/04/2008 11:33

Hello Aprilsfools, I was due same day as you and still nothing- y sweep Monday (MW doesn't work weekends) and induction possible the week after- I am planned for a HB for various reasons, but an induction is fine too: its hospital transfer that would be the nightmare for us.

After 24 hours of almost- definite contractions yesterday (didnts ay much as didnt want to jinx it) zero today! But DH is off work sick and I have the irus too- his Clerk was told by his GP to stay of for a few days and ignored it . As a result I have ballooned with swelling and could barely get shoes on this morning.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 12:07

Oh FGS, Scorpio and PFJ, just do it!

I have my pre-section appointment thingy todat with the anaethetist and I really don't want to go. I broke down to DP last night and couldn't stop crying, I don't think he'd realised just how badly I don't want to have a CS and was saying we should try waiting another week so we might mention it today, I'm just petrified that if I put it off the baby will come to some harm all because of my stubborness.

Arggh, why can't it just come now then I won't have to make these decisions! Bloody thing.

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:08

VS - you know the risks, you have researched them. for you, i really hope you can have a VBAC. Please don't let them talk you into anything, but again be careful.

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:09

when will they want to do a section?

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:09

is inducing you not an option?

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 12:10

Next week, wednesday.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 12:10

Can't induce after a CS because it multiplies the risk by about a million of uterine rupture, thats why the cons tried to do a sweep for me, it's the only real thing they can do.

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:11

oh god thats not giving much time, is it? thats your EDD though isn't it. Will they not let you go past term?

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:11

oh i see, please forgive ignorance.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 12:16

Well, they'll let me do anything I want! They can't force me to have this section, I'm panicing now that maybe I arranged it too hastily, partly because it was one of the one appointments I went to on my own so I wasn't as strong as normal iyswim.

I'm going to talk to DP when he comes home see what he thinks, he said last night to just cancel it and tell them to do another doppler next week but I need him to hear the risks from the doctor to see what he thinks really.

Hopefully they'll be able to tell us things today and yes it is my EDD.

SuzeM · 02/04/2008 12:17

Poor Peachy, last thing you need is to be feeling ill!

VS, sorry about your CS, hope it doesn't come to that.

PAL, I am consumed with curiousity as to your dd's name? [email protected]

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 12:18

Well good luck for the appointment and getting the right outcome for you.

sagitta · 02/04/2008 12:31

VS - best of luck with appointment today. I really hope Drs say it is fine to go beyond term for you - and can postpone the CS for now.
But as I'm sure you've said before the most important thing is having LO any which way...once you've met him/her, it won't matter how s/he got here. But best of luck, anyway.

VictorianSqualor · 02/04/2008 12:34

Unfortunately sagitta, it will matter how s/he gets here, that's why I'm so scared of the CS, I really don't want it to fuck things up, I had a really hard time bonding with DD and by the time she was 6 months old I was in ICU with kidney failure because I took an overdose, I think it was only the ease of breastfeeding DS (I basically put everything into that and tried to ignore his birth) that stopped me going through the same with him, even now I don't have the same closeness with dd as I do DS, I couldn't bare it if that was to happen again.

sagitta · 02/04/2008 12:40

AAh, VS I am so sorry. . I didn't realise how important it was. I know nothing (about anything really) but I do have a friend who went through something vaguely similar - she didn't bond with first baby but despite similar problems, she did bond with dc2.

Fingers crossed for the right outcome at your appointment today, or, even better, the onset of CXs.
