kayzisexpecting · 04/04/2008 16:40

Thanks. I couldn't resist the nameGrin

mibbes · 04/04/2008 19:40

wey hey kayz am so glad you got BFP properly, the CBDs do need a higher level of hcg. Test again in the morning and I bet the line is way darker. The last one I did (on Tue) was darker than the control line Grin
BSS great news about blood levels and scan - hurray, bet you can't wait !
Welcome and congrats Bisou & majormoo ! There are lots of us expecting extra special xmas deliveries this year Grin
I got my 'Pregnancy week by week' book today, so that'll be me occupied for the weekend ! Well I have to fill the pub-free hours somehow ! Still nothing symptom-wise but the book says they usually become more apparent week 6-7 so hopefully soon Grin

kayzisexpecting · 04/04/2008 19:52

I will do a test in the morning I think.
Made an appointment at the doctors for Monday afternoon.

Verso · 04/04/2008 20:04

Well, my NHS nightmare got sorted today. I won't go into the long and tortuous details - suffice it to say I have a scan booked for 22nd April Grin.

(Glad I'm not the only one who tested more than once just to see if it got darker, mibbes!)

kayzisexpecting · 04/04/2008 20:28

Glad you got a scan booked VersoSmile

I never got a single symptom with ds. Fingers crossed I wont get morning sickness this time round.

rosmerta · 04/04/2008 21:18

verso glad you've got your scan

kayz like the new name, I did about 3 tests in the end & found the first wee of the day is usally the best one to test with (sorry if tmi)

I didn't have any symptoms first time around but I am getting some this time, nothing major at least!

mibbes · 04/04/2008 22:43

Excellent news about scan Verso. I was peeing on double sticks for the first few days just to be sure, I think I have tried every brand of HPT Blush

ChutneyMary · 04/04/2008 23:06

Evening ladies, may I join you please? Have been lurking since the weekend, but only just plucked up the courage to tell DH tonight. He seems thrilled, even though this is a total shock and completely unplanned. I have only had one period since having DD2 12 months ago and we have serious sleep problems with DD1 which often ends up with her in our bed, so this baby must be very determined to have got past all that lot!

I am unclear on due dates but am guessing around 4th Dec. No symptoms as yet apart from rampant sense of smell. Am expecting to be feeling violently ill in about 2 weeks, if past form is anything to go by....

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 06:58

Morning,

Welcome Chutney! Congratulations!!

I woke uo at half 5 this morning, I hope this is a 1 off. I didn't sleep very well while expecting ds.

Has anyone else tried this I have and it says I am having a girl and it was right about ds being a boy.

ChutneyMary · 05/04/2008 07:24

Thanks for the welcome Kayz.

Well, it told me I am having a girl too! It was also right about both my DDs so who knows?!

Regrettably, I have had insomnia before when pg and it's vile. You're so tired but can't sleep. Hope yours is a one off.

We're off to see my parents today but won't tell them as I can't get my head round it. Have you told anyone? And how old is your DS?

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 07:29

Ds is a year old. It was his 1st birthday the 20th March. I can't believe how quickly it has gone!!

Sorry about you insomnia. I hope you don't get it this time round.

We haven't told anyone yet. We'll probably wait a while although I want to shout it from the rooftops!!Grin

ChutneyMary · 05/04/2008 07:36

That's fab, my DD2 was 1 on 19th March!

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 07:43

Cool! How old is your eldest DD?

mibbes · 05/04/2008 09:56

congrats and welcome ChutneyMary.

I have been having rubbish sleeps too. I don't think it is proper insomnia, I just get up to wee then can't sleep as a million things are racing through my head about telling people, the nursery, prams, names etc...!

nandos · 05/04/2008 11:18

Welcome chutneymary Smile

also not much symptoms..am a bit scared..
anyone in this situation too?

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 13:12

I dont have any symptoms Nandos, I didn't have any with ds either not a single symptom.

rosmerta · 05/04/2008 13:39

nandos, I didn't have any symptoms at all first time around either!

Kayz, according to that chart I'm having a girl. That'll be one of each for me then if its right!

Hi chutney, congratulations & welcome to the thread!

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 13:44

I'd love a girl Rosmerta so I had one of each.

artichokes · 05/04/2008 13:52

Hi All

Welcome Chutney Mary and Bisou. Kayz glad you got a proper result now. Verso glad you got your scan sorted.

Well I am feeling really tired today and ravenously hungry. All I want is red meat! I felt a little cik earlier but I am hoping it was more psychological than physical, or a result of the hug Moroccan meal we had at a friend's last night. I am sooooo not lunking forward to morning sickness.

Can I ask those of you who have already had 2 DCs how soon you showed with your second? With DD I could hide it until about 20 weeks but I have heard most people pop sooner with subsequent pregnancies. This time I have a really important promotion board that I want to take when I will be 20 weeks. I know being pregnant will scupper my chances - any hope I will manage to hide the bump for that long?

rosmerta · 05/04/2008 13:53

Kayz, have you got a girl's name picked? If we do have a girl we'll use the name we picked first time. If it's a boy we're screwed as it took us long enough to agree on ds's name!

artichokes · 05/04/2008 13:55

Blush sorry about all those typos, I am normally bad at typing, but not that bad Blush

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 14:00

No we haven't. I'll think of names and dh doesn't like them or it doesn't work with our surname. Her middle name will be Jean as its sort of like a family tradition.

I like Evelyn but dh doesn't. But I changed my mind about 3 times with ds.

nandos · 05/04/2008 15:48

i really hope its really nothing to worry Blush ..maybe anxious cos' my 1st appt is like 4 weeks away Sad really hope beany sticks ..

kayzisexpecting · 05/04/2008 16:11

Its only natural to worry Nandos. Everyone does.

rosmerta · 05/04/2008 16:17

Nandos, what Kayz is true, especially with your first one
