Hello

Can I introduce myself? I am sitting watching my second line develop on a Frist Response. I am in total shock. I was on the "Step Away From the First Response" thread but failed to wait until AF was due and tested one day early. I am in total shock and my DH is at the dentist so I cannot call him...

I think my due date will by 13 December.

Aaahhhh - I want to talk to DH. I can't keep this quite for too long and I think my colleagues are wondering why on earth I keep staring at something hidden under a pile of papers and then looking utterly awe struck Grin.

pixsix · 03/04/2008 09:48

artichokes congratulations! How lovely that we're the first ones to know about your BFP! Hope you get hold of you DH soon. x

mibbes · 03/04/2008 10:04

artichokes CONGRATS !! fab news ! welcome to the thread, get yourself on that list Grin. I can't believe you are at your desk watching the line develop !!!

bcsnowpea · 03/04/2008 10:42

congratulations artichokes!!!
I was in the same situation, I got my bfp at work, and kept sneaking looks at it hidden in my bag.
Hope you get a hold of DH soon!

mibbes I'm a Sydney girl, and DH is from Vancouver, so we're destined to live a life of moving around.

BSS- best of luck on your second blood test

1LittlePrincess · 03/04/2008 12:13

Yay am on computer so can write sensible size message!!

Congratulations Artichokes! My dd is 19mo too, how exciting!

Well I went for blood test today but thought no, I'm putting my foot down I want a scan after freaking out last night so I went to EPU and spoke to a very nice doc who organised an internal scan for me there and then! Grin And....theres a little tiny beany in my womb just where it should be!! Yay! Grin

I went for bloods after as it was so early they couldn't see a heartbeat but the scan lady agreed with my dates which makes me 5 weeks today....which has also put my mind at rest about the lack of symptoms coz I know they didn't start until about 6-7 weeks last time. Going to get results of blood test tomorrow which will tell me if bhcg is doubled as should be but the scan lady said everything seemed as it should so once I've got blood test results tomorrow I think I'll be much more relaxed.

They think the reason for the pain is that there is a small patch of blood which she said is really far away from the bean so not to worry about but that it looks like it came from the burst cyst on my right ovary. She was saying something like thats how the egg is released from a burst cyst but sometimes it can bleed a little and that can cause a bit of pain. As it was on my right ovary and thats where the pain is I guess that must be it.

Sorry for the ramble...feeling sooo much better! Just looking forward to blood test results tomorrow to confirm it really.

Hope everyones ok today!xx

Verso · 03/04/2008 19:11

Quick 'me' post... typical NHS. I was supposed to be seeing my consultant tomorrow and phoned to confirm (thank God I did!) - they had no record of it AND, despite the consultant telling me in January that with any future pg he would book me in for scans at 7wks, 9wks, and 12wks, the receptionist told me in no uncertain terms that there will be NO SCANS BEFORE 12 WEEKS.

I've booked in to see my GP again next week so I hope he can refer me/do other paperwork to get this sorted out.

... and before anyone says anything, I do know that scans make no difference at all to the outcome... but after two missed m/cs any reassurance is welcome!

BrightShinySun · 03/04/2008 19:22

Verso i wouldnt have that. They kept telling me they wouldnt scan me this early(5wks) but i just went into the epu and stomped my feet today and they did one there and then. Maybe worth a shot? The nurses and doc in epu were v.understanding.

mibbes · 03/04/2008 19:25

BSS hurray for bean ! Good work putting your foot down, at least that is a weight off your mind Grin. If you are exactly 5 weeks then I must be 5+2 as suspected as I think I ov'd 2 days before you - yippee !
Congrats and welcome Flumpybumpy, love your name !
Well the nurse who took blood for chickenpox immunity test said results will take 2-3 weeks Shock. I'm sure GP said 1-2 days. I'd have thought they would want to know asap if bean is at risk so that they can act quickly Hmm.
Anyway still no symtpoms except slight AF cramps which are a rubbish symtpom as they just make me worry this is all a big hoax and AF will just arrive very late. I know from MN that this is just stretching ligaments/bean settling in but it is worrying. Have felt mildly queasy a few times when really hungry, does that count ? BSS it is good to hear from you and others that symtpoms really kicked in at 6-7 weeks. I will be fully expecting to have my head down the loo by this time next week Grin

BrightShinySun · 03/04/2008 19:38

Ha ha mibbes i bet you wont be saying that if you do get MS its a pain in the ass, especially when your trying to keep pg quiet and ms turns into all day sickness!Grin

kayzisbroody · 03/04/2008 19:47

OMG!!!

I think I have a BFP!!!!!

Its still really faint though. So I thought I'd pop my head round the door.

1LittlePrincess · 03/04/2008 19:53

Evening All

BSS Great News on the scan....Just goes to show that when you put your mind to it you can get anything Wink Hopefully its put your mind at ease a little, good luck and fingers crossed for the blood results tomorrow

Mibbles 2-3 weeks does seem a rather long time for a blood result, prehaps you should just call docs tomorrow and ask when they are expecting results. On a positive note if you had primary {1st infection} chicken pox as a child which was a full on infection, ie multiple spots, which then scabbed and faded, then this immunity should be enough to cover you and beanie. I think its mainly measle and mumps and primary CP which can cause problems. Fingers crossed for the results

Congratulations and Welcome FlumpyBumpy Verso thats shocking, if it changes out come or not is irrelevant I think, these early days are stressful enough as it is so anything thats puts your mind at ease should be sorted, especially if you were told this would happen. I would call you docs in the morning and just that you were expecting scans and even if you cant get all there you would like at least one..... Good Luck hope you manage to sort it

xxx

rosmerta · 03/04/2008 20:02

hi all,

bss, congratulations on the scan, that's great news!

Verso, I agree with the others about going & stamping your feet! Someone I used to work with had multiple m/c & she was scanned every 2 weeks as soon as she went to the dr.

Hi flumpybumpy, nice to see you here!

mibbes, queasiness definitely counts, that's what I've got at the minute. Not sickness as such but I have to eat mid-morning & afternoon otherwise I get a bit dizzy. What a shame, me having to eat more Grin

poisondwarf · 03/04/2008 20:31

Sign me up!

Couple of ridiculously faint lines yesterday then this morning a BFP! Can't believe it!

Due date should be 8/12 I think. Will be #2 - DS1 turned one on Monday (was hoping for a BFP for his birthday but no joy).

artichokes · 03/04/2008 20:35

Gosh there are quite a few of us on here. It might take me a little while to remember who is who.

Welcome Flumpy and Kayz (I left a congrats for you on the old thread).

BSS - sounds like our DCs will have the same age gap. Great news about your scan. I had exactly the same symptoms with DD and had a scan at 5 weeks to check for ectopic. We went back at 7 weeks so they could confirm the heartbeat. We have a whole album page of early scans!

Hi to everyone else.

No real symptoms for me yet. Lots of weeing and very thirsty but that is all. AS long as the pregnancy is healthy I am very happy with no symptoms. With DD I got bad sickness from 6.5 weeks and I am not suer I could cope with that now I have DD to look after. I have already calculated that if it happens that way this time I should start suffering on April 25th...

artichokes · 03/04/2008 20:37

Welcome PoisonDwark

Kayz - we may have the same due date. Half the calculators suggest 13th, half 14th. Do you know what date you ovulated?
