Hello
Have finally decided to join thread - am due 8th Dec. Had bleeding last week which was v frightening but went to brilliant early pregnancy unit at St Thomas' and scan ok. So fingers crossed was just one of those things.

Am sick as a dog - very nearly threw up on train to work yesterday. Am also much more tired this time - my DS is 15 months so that could have something to do with it...

Am booked into St Thomas' for birth - has anyone been there? I had pretty grisly experience in EGA last time.

Am going to try winegums...have a good weekend everyone.

mibbes · 19/04/2008 08:57

welcome lal and congrats!
morning kayz, how are you ?
and a big bear-hug welcome to yet another 2ww lady, the lovely hatty, take a seat and put your feet up hun xx

kayzisexpecting · 19/04/2008 08:58

I'm ok thanks feel a bit queasy though mibbes how are you?

Welcome lal

Katie3677 · 19/04/2008 09:05

Thanks Mibbes, will give it a try. Like you, I am totally bloody paranoid this time. Refusing to allow myself to get excited until I know everything is ok. Therefore £70 for a scan would be money well spent.

Morning all,

Oooh mibbes, are you still there? I need a dose of my own advice. I took my temp this morning and it was lower than yesterday by quite a bit , although way above the coverline. If I hadn't have tested I would be sure that AF was going to start. Could you give me a quick slap please?

I wish I could stop worrying. The next 8 weeks are going to drag aren't they?!

mibbes · 19/04/2008 13:06

Hi JB, sorry nipped out for a walk - you were the one who told me to stop temping ! I totally understand though, see what happens over the next few days. I found mine went up and down each day but didn't drop much below my highest temp.I stopped at 5.5 weeks then started again after bleed at 6 weeks. Then a few days later it dropped quite a bit and I decided to bin the thermometer as it was doing my head in worrying about temps. My logic now is as long as no bleeding with pain all is well. If you can, stop temping in a few days xx

JollyBear · 19/04/2008 13:21

Thanks mibbes, I might just knock the temping on the head now . I can see myself fretting over every temp which is not going to do me any good. I took another test this morning too .

mibbes · 19/04/2008 13:35

ha ha JB don't be about testing. I took 2 HPTs this morning !!! Had 2 left over and wanted to use them up ! I have done at least 2 per week since BFP - I had a huge stash . good idea to stop temping if you can as it will just worry you.

kayzisexpecting · 19/04/2008 13:43

Hello. Hope everyone is ok.

Just been to buy some of those travel sickness bands. I'm hoping they will stop any morning sickness while I'm on holiday next week.

rosmerta · 19/04/2008 13:58

hi all, have been away in Manchester for a study day. Very interesting, shame about the trains but never mind!

Hello to all the new ladies, I've not caught up since my last post so hope everyone is ok.

artichokes · 19/04/2008 16:59

Hi everyone

This thread is getting so big that I am losing track of who everyone is. Maybe we can all post a few details about ourselves so that we can put facts to names. What do you think? Don't worry if nobody else wants to.

Me: 29
DH: 35
DCs: 1 DD, 20 months
Home town: London
Job: Civil servant
Things I love: reading, swimming, SCUBA, water polo, travelling (especially in the Middle East), cooking (until the morning sickness hit).

Hmmmm, now I have made this suggestion I am struggling to think of interesting facts to put about myself...

IceCube · 19/04/2008 17:07

All the interesting facts I can think of would make me stand out like a sore thumb if any people who know me "in real life" were reading the boards.

Think I'll lurk for now hopefully get to know everyone better when I'm past the early stage and don't care who knows

Hi all. Been away for a few days but it is impossible to catch up with all the posts.

Hello to all the new people. We are definitely going to have a Christmas baby out of all these people!

Me: 34
DH: 35
DCs: DD 4 DS 18months
Hometown: Brighton
Job: SAHM
Things I love: sleep, wine, going out, long hot baths, reading- none of which I am getting much of at the moment

Indith · 19/04/2008 19:45

Oh go on then Since I'm already procrastinating.

Me: 24
Dp: 24
Getting married: 29th August
Dcs: 1 ds 15 months
hometown: Durham
Job: Uni finalist
Things I love: In a past life travel, riding, walking, doing crazy long walks like coast to coast with full kit, Guiding and Scouting, card making, beading, reading, eating cake. These days I'm a hermit attempting to find some love still there for her degree and failing, manage the odd very easy to read book to read 2 pages of before bed. Still run a Rainbow unit though Oh and I still eat lots of cake. If anyone has the misfortune to live near me they will have to eat cake at some point.

mummy2olivia · 19/04/2008 20:56

Hi all I'm 4+4 today!!

me:27
DH:28
DD:5 (with previous partner)
hometown:Warwickshire
Job: pharmacy technician
Things I love: my husband, my daughter, my wedding album and my friends and my books

I have some questions that are driving me mad!!! Can anyone help?????

  1. my boobs are killing me- they are about 2 sizes bigger and sore and heavy- is it too early to go and get a maternity bra??

2)my sides hurt, so do my hips and I have lower back pain (not severe or constant)- is this just stretching?? It isnt there in the morning but gets worse as the day goes on.

3)Apart from the boobs and the aches- I feel no different- is this normal??

I dont remember from having DD!!!

Glad to see everyone is ok- hope those of you feeling sick are looking after yourselves and trying to get enough rest.

We have decided today that we are gonna pay for an early scan in a couple of weeks. I am so stressed and worried that I'm not even happy to be pregnant after 15 months of ttc I'm scared it will be snatched away

I feel so awful for feeling like this but feel really detatched from the whole thing and am sort of waiting for it to go wrong. Sorry if I upset anyone saying this but really need to talk to someone about it- cant even tell DH.

Hi all

goodnesss me, i've been away for about a week and this thread has grown so much!

Thanks to all the nice things people said when i joined - congrats and welcome stuff. Much appreciated.

I have been reluctant to post as i am having occasional bleeding, so I am worried. I had a mc before i had my DD, that was at 5 weeks, and I am now past that point but only just. I did have early bleeding with my second pregnancy and that all turned out fine, so i am holding on to that. The bleeding is very light, and only now and again - not every day. no pain, and I'm having other symptoms like nausea etc. so feel comfoted by that.

mummy2olivia - sorry to see you feel stressed. It's completely understandable though. 15 months - wow, I can understand why you are feeling so cautious about celebrating yet. Sounds like an early scan may be a good idea.
Can't you tell your DH how you're feeling though? He may well be feeling the same. "A problem shared..." and all that?

Congratulations from me, anyway!

rosmerta · 19/04/2008 22:05

mummytoolivia sorry I hadn't meant to ignore your post.

I agree with littlepeanut about maybe chatting to your dh about how you feel and the early scan does sound like a good idea. Hopefully soon you'll be able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy

Dh and I have been chatting about the birth tonight, I really really want to have a hb but dh is dead set against it. He just can't believe that its safe at all if anything goes wrong, and if he's not comfortable there's no way really I could go ahead with it
