Can I join in? Due Dec 1st according to doctor so nearly 8 weeks. Already DS 19 months. Feeling awful. Sick all day long (though not actually vomiting). Don't know what to eat/drink. Nothing makes it go. sure it wasn't as bad last time though of course didn't have a toddler then! Gorgeous DS wild and running around like a mad child and all I can do is turn on Cbeebies and feel like a bad mother whilst I sip on a glass of water and eat a malted milk biscuit. How is everyone else feeling? Very happy to be preggers by the way, just hate this constant nausea.;)

Katie - I had an early scan at 5 wks + 3 days. The NHS don't always offer 'reassurance' scans for previous miscarriage sufferers unfortunately . is it possible you could have a slight question mark over your dates? They will usually give you a 'dating scan' early on if you are unsure..

Well, a whole afternoon spent in A&E for me. My bloods and urine came back fine - no glucose problems, no infections etc. I've been officially diagnosed with hyperemesis, though, which is basically a fancy word for really severe pregnancy sickness. They can presrcibe anti-nausea drugs but I'm unhappy about taking them, so will rid eit out for a bit I think. Said to keep an eye on the amount of fluid I am holding down, as if it gets too low I will have to go back to the hospital and be put on a drip Want to avoid that at all costs...

Managed to keep down a roll and some juice this afternoon, though, so feeling hopeful...

Good to hear from you. Was wondering if you were OK.
I didn't feel like resting much after my miscarriage, because physically I was OK, but I forced myself to and I think it did actually help, although at the time I didn't think it was helping (I actually felt a bit depressed 'moping' around the house all day, but I think my body thanked me for some proper relaxation later on down the line...).

Are you able to take some sick leave or a holiday from work? Go away somewhere, maybe, or just hibernate in the house and treat yourself to lots of sleep and nice food? Early miscarriage isn't really made a big deal of by the medical profession, probably because it so common, but I really believe women need to take some time to rest and recuperate afterwards. It's a shock to your system, a disappointment and feelings of sadness (or for me, bitterness...I felt very resentful of happily pregnant women for a while) can sneak in and you need to recharge your batteries mentally as well as physically in order to deal with these sorts of emotions.

hello - im new to this thread...am due 15 dec (live in hertfordshire by the way, anyone else from near here?). just starting to read back through it all...to the woman who feels sick, a girl at work swears by travel sickness pads that you stick on your arm. im okish - very emotional, like impatient and teary and very forgetful and spaced out! tired. not sick tho...do you think i've gotten away with that if havent gotten it by now? fingers crossed. great to have found this site, as too early to tell anyone bar closest 3 friends, and cant bother them all day everyday with the anxieties

I have not posted since last Sunday as I lost internet access [traumatised emoticon]. Now I am finally able to log in and I cannot beleive how much this thread has grown. I have tried to skim read the last week's messages and I hope I have not missed too much.

Welcome to all the newbies. And sorry to those who have had bad news.

My news is that sickness has hit . If I eat any rich food it comes straight back out. Tuesday evening we went to a French restaurant and I won't even try and describe the next 12 hours... Even if I avoid the rich food I still feel terrible by about 6pm. I had evening sickness with DD too. MissMattie sorry to hear how badly you are suffering. I really feel for you.

Anyway I better go. Its time for my ritual refusal of DH's dinner offerings.

Ho hum, still bloated and farting like dp a trouper. Fun fun for the scans etc. Suppose I should get around to booking in with a MW at some point, leave it a few more weeks though.

I feel slightly sick this morning and am tired but I think Its because I haven't thrown up yet!lol

The tummy cramps have settled down now, less like AF more like a stretching.

Im actully going to buy a pair of discreet maternity jeans today as non on my jeans fit!!

I admit to have putting on weight recently, but that combined with my swollen belly means even my 'fat day' jeans are cutting into my tummy and hurt when I sit down and I dont like the thought of them squishing up my tummy!

I do have some maternity jeans but they are the big over the belly ones and its much too soon for them so Im going to get some under the bump ones! lol.

I know its early but theres no point in spending money on 'normal' jeans in a bigger size when I wont get in them in weeks to come is there?!

Thanks for all the advice on early scans. My cycles have been all over the place since last mc in November so going to try and use that as an excuse for not being sure of my EDD and see if they will scan me earlier. If not, might look into going private for reassurance. Anyone got any advice on how to go about going private? Is it just a matter of calling local private hospital?

Morning Katie ! I'm not sure if all private hospitals do reassurance scans, google private scans in your area (or do a MN search). I have booked one in Edinburgh for a week on Monday (will be 9 weeks by then). I just called up, you don't need to be referred. It costs £70 here which is well worth it if it puts my mind at rest as I have no symtpoms apart from some tiredness in the evenings and slightly achy, fuller boobs. Even the AF cramps have stopped now . Did 2 HPTs this morning and still strong BFPs, but then I believe that even with mmc you get a line... not that I'm paranoid or anything !

I know you do show earlier than previous pregnancies. You will have to get some maternity trousers.
