Disenchanted · 18/04/2008 08:33

Chances are out of ALL of us someone will end up with twins!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 08:39

Especially with me on here. I know 4 ladies in RL who are expecting twins!

Disenchanted · 18/04/2008 08:41

Started a thread about healthy eating in pregnancy, my diet is crap so any advice is wholey welcomed!

Disenchanted · 18/04/2008 08:42

Kays you will be having triplets if i find out Im having twins as I will be posting one to you via the stork!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 08:55

LOL, I doubt I will have twins, but you never know.

simmo14 · 18/04/2008 08:55

Hi. Can you add me to your long list please. I did another test this morning- Was getting quite worried and thought I was seeing things as did a cheapie ebay test on Tuesday and thought I could see some sort of line- Had a look at disenchanted thread on this, but DP was not so sure. But after another test (morrisons own brand)this morning-clear line there now.

So good to tell someone (apart from DP!).
I think it will be a Christmas Day baby , but will do some checking. Ovulated on the 4th April, but very late in my cycle (day 29!). So excited, already have 1DS aged 19 months.

oops xposts kayz!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 09:24

I keep thinking it is Saturday today. I keep getting very confused.

IceCube · 18/04/2008 09:30

WARNING TMI

I have been a bit sore for a couple of days and today I am really quite sore going to the loo
Worried I might have a UTI so got myself a GP appointment for this morning.

Anyone else had this in previous pregnancies, I guess they have antibiotics that are safe for early pregnancy?

BrightShinySun · 18/04/2008 10:46

Sorry icecube dont know much about anti-b in pg. Just wanted to say disenchanted thats rubbish what the dr said my cousin had twins, none at all in our family lots in her dp's!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 10:52

I thought it was rubbish too BSS. My friend has no twins in her family but there is in her DPs and she is expecting twins.

fruitbowl · 18/04/2008 11:09

Hello everyone and big congrats to all. Can I join in the list? Just got a BFP yesterday and still can't believe it. DH & I have been trying for DC #2 for about 18 months and were feeling v disappointed. It's v early days yet so I am v nervous. I had a MC before DD was conceived. She's now 3. I'm an old bird aswell - 40 nxt month. Hello to any other older mums! Think I'm due 17th Dec. Fingers crossed all goes well for the lovely Dec ladies xx

Verso · 18/04/2008 11:30

IceCube I'm on amoxycillin (a type of penicillin I think) for a range of chest/throat infections I've had and the Dr said they are PERFECTLY SAFE during pregnancy. It says in the leaflet that comes with them that they are fine. Hope you can get your soreness sorted out!

Other news is we have a bean! ) Seriously, I am incubating a baked bean (apparently that's the size it is at the moment) and that's what it looked like, with the teeniest tinyest flickering heartbeat thus --> .

I AM SO HAPPY!

Next scan in two weeks (I'll be 9w1d). That will be even scarier, as I lost my last two pgs at around 8 weeks... but until then I'm going to enjoy the fact that my Bean is ok!

MrsMattie · 18/04/2008 11:33

Hi all. Just sticking my head in for a sec while I try to finish my cornflakes. Saw the doctor this morning re: morning sickness and she is concerned about my blood sugar levels, so I'm off to A&E now for (probably) lengthy wait to see a doc there. Wish me luck!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 11:33

YAY!!!! VERSO!!!

That is great news!!!

minster · 18/04/2008 11:41

Verso fabulous news! Congratulations I love early scans with ds one had ont at just over 6 weeks & there he was 6mm long but with a beautiful heart beat, it is so amazing!

MrsMattie g/l for A&E hope you don't have to wait too long, constant puking is debilitating. With my first I was in & out of hospital with hyperemesis (dehydration, hypoglycaemia, ketosis), the antiemetics were useless - I didn't stop puking until she was born . Next two pregnancies were much better, I was taking steroids which have the fotunate side effect of being antiemetic.

Nausea started today.

Katie3677 · 18/04/2008 11:56

Just been to see the doctor to ask for an early scan due to past miscarriages and she said that they can't scan until 8 weeks minimum, is that right? I thought there were people on here who had first scans at 6 weeks. Do you think I can insist on having an earlier one? Don't think I can bear to wait a whole month to know if everything is alright.

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 11:58

You can have them at 6 weeks I think.

Verso · 18/04/2008 12:07

My scan today was 7w1d, Katie. If your hospital won't do it before 8 weeks, you can get one privately, but they're expensive (about £70). (It's not that they 'can't' do it - it's that they 'won't'.)

FWIW my scan today was a kind-of leap of faith because there was so little to see and it was very blurry - if you wait until 8 weeks you have a better chance of seeing something properly. But I would definitely ask them again for an early scan if you want one - all they can do is say no. How far along are you?

minster · 18/04/2008 12:11

Katie I've had scans as early as 5 weeks. At 5 weeks you should see the gestation sac, at 6 the sac, yolk asc & fetal pole (you might see a heart beat) and at 7 you should see the heart beat. I usually go to the FMC in London - it's £100 for a viability scan there & you don't need a referral.

The only reason we're waiting until later this time is that I like to have a scan after 8 weeks & we can't really afford to have two done.

abbymeg · 18/04/2008 12:55

Thanks Brighty and Kayzi for making me nervous - kept reassuring myself that twins are on DH's side so I'll be fine...

Saying that, at this moment in time there could be twenty in there, I just want them to stay put and be healthy!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 12:58

Sorry Abbymeg

mibbes · 18/04/2008 13:47

LobsterLass am so sorry to hear your news
Hello to all of the new ladies especially disenchanted from the ttc waiting room - congrats It is really busy in here !
Bisou I'm with you on scan-envy !
flumpybump if it helps my sore boobs seem to have subsided too and the AF pains i was getting seem to have stopped for the last few days (am now 7+4). I guess unless there is blood there is probably no need to panic, but if you are really worried talk to GP/EPU for reassurance.
I'm with kayz on the homebirth - no way ! I'll be in hospital with all the drugs and machinery there as am also a worrier and petrified of the birth bit... in fact when the MW started talking about skin to skin contact after delivery I was singing 'la la la I'm not listening' in my head (obviously not out loud in case she noted down 'mentlaist' on my form !)
HUGE congrats and welcome to abbymeg from the 2ww thread - lovely to see you here xx Ouch, big first baby !
Hello mummy2olivia I recognise your name from ttc posts, welcome and congrats !
At the moment only DP and I know and I love the fact that it is our little secret, plan to tell parents and siblings in 1.5 weeks time when my parents are there (they live quite far away)
Disenchanted at prospect of twins, I was wondering that myself the other night as belly was big ! It seems to expand in the evening then goes back down by morning...
Verso great news about scan
