Coco - I just googled really. If you can get into central London then I would HIGHLY recommend birth company on Harley Street. It is where I went last time and it is very plush and my scan was done my a consultant rather than a sonographer. In fact the consultant was the man who delivered Jordan's latest, but I am not sure if that is a good advert for him Hmm.

I have also heard great things aboutthe Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley Street. They are considered the best by doctors that I know. One friend of mine got told the sex of her DD at her 12 weeks scan because it was so clear!

TheMuppetMuggle · 08/04/2008 18:25

Hey Ladies, well the thread has moved alot today Smile

I felt really sick this morning, feel tired but think mainly because i didn't sleep well and work was a long day.
1 day late and no sign of AF arriving, but have been up and down needing to wee all day grrr its starting already lol!

I'd love a private scan but i don't want to find out the sex, as want to leave that a surprise!
xx

ChutneyMary · 08/04/2008 18:41

Coco- I went to the Fetal Med centre with dd2 as scan at kings was inconclusive. Bloody brilliant and pyt my mind completelt
y at ease. they also said dd2 was a girl, even at 12 weeks ! where in s london / surrey are you ? I am in dulwich.

Sorry about poor typing. Am BF and only have 1 hand free. It's beem a hsrd day with my DDs today. Hore you are all well.

rosmerta · 08/04/2008 19:08

evening all, thought I'd quickly pop on before I head out to my NCT committee meeting. I really don't want to go as I'm very tired but I've missed the last couple. Ho hum.

Glad everyone seems to be doing well even with ms!

Re nuchal scans, with ds they didn't offer us one because I was in the low risk category but dh & I chatted about it beforehand. He didn't think he could raise a dc with downs or similar (cruel I know) but I knew I couldn't have gone ahead with a termination so we decided not to find out and take it as it happens.

artichokes I'll be going to West Mid in Isleworth, what about you?

mibbes · 08/04/2008 19:24

Wow this thread is super-busy !
Chutney LOL at your typos, at least you have an excuse !
coco I googled and did MN searches to find a clinic in Scotland where I could get a private scan. I haven't booked it yet as don't want to tempt fate, having said that after the bleed I need the reassurance even more.
Anon I have been having period pain on and off too (and am analysing it even more now) but it supposed to be normal, just stretching ligaments.
cazcaz really interesting about your DS. The way you talk about him is really uplifitng Smile, he sounds like a wee darling !
Bisou am suffering from 'spew-envy' too. Those of you who have it or have had it previously, are you sick every day ?

kayzisexpecting · 08/04/2008 20:28

Evening all!

I too have crampy type feelings, I was told it's just your body stretching.

I've been at work this evening and it made me feel very ill. I work on a Deli that also cooks chickens and pies so the smell has been a bit horrible.

theyoungvisiter · 08/04/2008 20:51

Is anyone finding they are suffering from pregnancy brain?

Is it worse the second time around?

I have forgotten so many things this last week, and seem to have completely lost the ability to string a sentence together. I don't remember being like this last time with DS - or maybe it's the extra knackeredness of having a toddler and a mini-bump...

toratora · 08/04/2008 20:56

Hello again, please could you add me to the list as due on 8th Dec - it is a complete guess and I will have to wait for a scan to confirm my dates as I have no idea where I was in my cycle - 8th is a rough estimate from when I found out using my MC dates to count from.

I don't seem to be able to stop testing - I have a load of cheapie E bay tests, last night I did one and it came up with a scarily strong line!

Hope everyone is doing OK. Smile
x

kayzisexpecting · 08/04/2008 21:15

I have pregnancy brain already too. I will also use ds as an excuse!

I keep forgetting stuff.

ChutneyMary · 08/04/2008 21:20

Mibbes - with both my pregnancies, I have hardly been sick, but done lots of dry retching and felt sick constantly. The slightest smell could set me off. I have had to get off buses and trains to heave hugely, as I never know if there is going to be follow through, as it were. I also keep a carrier bag on me at all times in case I can't make it in time. It is truly awful. i hope you (and everyone else, inc me) escapes without anything too bad.

It's not like the type of sickness you have with food poisoning, as throwing up doesn't bring wonderful relief like it does when you've eaten something bad. Sorry to be such a downer. Hope you are OK.

BTW, the 2 people I know who have been hospitalised with hyperemesis both had boys Grin.

mibbes · 08/04/2008 21:37

Chutney plastic bag is a cunning plan Wink After my spew yesterday just wondered if it was MS but felt nothing today so probaby just worry after bleed. They say that MS signifies a strong PG so a few spews would do wonders for my confidence that beany is going to stick IYKWIM but I don't mean to trivialise MS I'm sure it can be a nightmare Blush.

Verso · 08/04/2008 21:41

theyoungvisitor - yep, pregnancy brain here too. Went to see the GP today and his pager went off while I was talking and I completely lost the point of what I was trying to say... Blush.

ChutneyMary - I was never actually sick with DD but can identify with the constantly feeling sick. It was horrible. The worst for me was being on public transport (I commute) - it suddenly appears that NO ONE WASHES when you're pregnant. >bleurgh< DH and I were on a short break to Amsterdam early in my pg with DD, and to me it seemed that everyone had the worst B.O. I had to get off a tram a few stops early at one point because it was soooooo gross!

Everyone who's never had MS before - enjoy! Grin

Verso · 08/04/2008 21:44

waves at< MuppetMuggle. Hello!

theyoungvisiter · 08/04/2008 22:05

I'd almost forgotten what MS is like - I mean I remember feeling sick but I'd forgotten that strange nagging nausea that just kind of bubbles under all day and yet somehow you can feel starving at the same time.

Retching when you brush your teeth, and put down food for the cat, and open the bin, and walk past a butchers... oh it all came rushing back this morning as I went to put the empty cat food tin in the bin and had to rush to the sink!

kayzisexpecting · 08/04/2008 22:07

Brushing your teeth??

Yay, dh thought I was going mad this morning when I couldn't brush my teeth. Ha I will show him this.

This feels really new to me as I had no symptoms with ds, no cramps, no ms not a thing.

BrightShinySun · 09/04/2008 07:17

Morning! This thread is busy! Hope we're all ok. Re the MS it really is horrible i had it every day all 9mo last time and im preying it eases after 3mo like its should this time.I can feel the familar icky feeling in my belly all day long already though!

kayzisexpecting · 09/04/2008 07:27

Morning!!

I feel really sicky this morning, I don't feel like I am going to be sick just feel dodgy.

LittlePeanut · 09/04/2008 07:32

Morning!

I'm new to this thread... I have JUST (this morning) got a BFP! I am soooooooooo excited. This will be my second dc, but we have been TTC for a while and starting to think it was going to happen again.

Look forward to swapping stories of retching, indigestion and vomiting in the near future xxx P.S. Congratulations everyone else x

kayzisexpecting · 09/04/2008 07:34

Welcome and Congratulations LittlePeanut

LittlePeanut · 09/04/2008 07:42

Thanks kayz. I have worked out my due date to around 15 Dec, give or take a day (irregular cycle length). Just in time for Christmas!

Now I've got to try and keep it quiet from family & friends for a few weeks... very difficult when I feel like shouting it from the rooftops!

Its really filling up now.

kayzisexpecting · 09/04/2008 07:54

Artichokes I looked at that place in Leeds and they don't do scans until 11 weeks so I have to wait for as long as I do for the NHS one.
