evening ladys.

Welcome Ichef
How has your pregnacy gone so far?

Not feeling the energy in the 2trimester what so ever think i am just bigger this time round and feeling it.. Having the saucy dreams again OMG never relised i could have so many in one night!!! And i am having a craving for a cigerette!!! I used to smoke and gave up 4 years ago.. what the hell is wrong with me..

Hope you are all well and happy..

isaidno · 27/03/2008 08:23

98 days to go until my due date! Less than 100 at last!

I'm feeling quite well tbh; not exactly glowing, but pretty good. I like to moan alot to DH just so he appreciates being pg is not all that fun!

Hope your scan was better bebejones, and hello new people!

Anyone still knitting? I have 4 squares of blanket to go, so i am quite impressed with myself.

isaidno · 27/03/2008 08:25

Minnie - I keep fancying a cigarette too! Even the thought of it during my last 2 pgs was abhorrent. I keep wanting a glass of wine too (i have indulged that one occasionally!) so this baby has the makings of a problem teen already!

lazyhippo · 27/03/2008 08:28

Congratulations and welcome Ichef
Sweetkitty- I hope today isn't so bad, SPD and heartburn sounds a really miserable combination
Bebejones- hoping your second scan attempt went ok yesterday
Keep forgetting to update the list as my due date has changed slightly

JODIEhavingababy · 27/03/2008 08:30

Morning all.

Had really uncomfortable night last night, firstly I have a bad cough and cold which makes me sound (and feel) like I've smoked 100 cigarettes! and then bump was so high, I couldn't breathe or sit down or bend or anything, then when we went to bed he was so low I thought he was goimg to kick his way out! DS never kicked me that low in my pelvis when he was 'inside'!!! Then talk about indigestion!!! OMG!!!

Anyway enough about me! Minnie1 the same thing happened to me last time I was pregnant, I used to get opened packets of fags a sniff them, it was lovely, and I had given up 3 years previously!!! When DS was born I did give in to the odd one again though, it was the only pleasure I got! It's not bothered me so far this time round (touch wood!)

Kaz glad flat was nice, and don't worry about your mum, you don't really need the stress now do you!

Welcome all newbies!

lazyhippo · 27/03/2008 08:43

Well impressed by all that knitting Isaidno!

JODIEhavingababy · 27/03/2008 09:27

Isaidno and Sweetkitty, I am very jealous of your knitting capabilities!!!

minipinkscottish · 27/03/2008 09:38

Morning all!!! I'm on HOLIDAY The school's don't finish till tomorrow here but as I work part time my last day was yesterday. However, ds age 13 and ds age 10 were both up in the night with the bug so are both off school today... so much for a quiet few days for myself....never mind!!

I am certainly not glowing . Quite the opposite...I'm pale and listless and OMG my hair as no life waht so ever! My dh is concerned that my bump is too HUGE for 24 weeks - I am massive but midwife doesn't seem concerned....maybe I just wont get any bigger

Anyway dh has booked a 4d scan for us on April 19th - I'll be 27 weeks - can't wait!! anyone else had one??

tafftaff · 27/03/2008 10:27

Talking of knitting, did my first 6 rows today! Went to a wool shop and fessed up to being a total novice so the nice lady told me to pick an easy pattern and she'd help me with the rest! So, I picked a blanket that involves 120 rows and the odd knit 1 purl 1! Reckon I can just about manage it but it took me an hour to do 6 rows which means the blanket will take me 20 hours to finish it! Seems like a lot of work for something that would cost me a fiver in the shops! Oh well, there is something peaceful and satisfying about watching a slightly odd shaped blanket (not very good with even tension) being produced by my own fair hands!

Mini, enjoy your time off. Am super jealous

beepbeep · 27/03/2008 10:52

Hi all & welcome newbies

Scottish - had 4d scan yesterday (26 wks), enjoyed it as was something bit different and seeing baby sucking fingers was bit bizarre. Looking at heart was amazing as consultant showed us all the bits and could actually see the blood flow and the valves opening and closing - very surreal(sp?!)! Not sure I would have one again for another pregnancy (??!!) but interesting to have done it. (luckily we didn't have to pay for it as the feto-medical unit has one for looking at possible defects so i think the consultant used us just to have a bit of a play!). The pictures are quite strange - a little alien like I think, but was quite surprised a how much fat it already had (chubby cheeks and fingers!!). Enjoy yours.

V impressed with all the knitting, wish i'd done something like that. ending up in bed at 8 last night as bump really high and uncomfortable, but only at right hand side (?) felt like i needed a good stretch!

RUMPEL · 27/03/2008 12:05

Hi All,

Not been on for ages as I have had a really awful cold virus thing for 2 weeks, DD is cross cutting what feels like dozens of molars = no sleep .

Welocme to all newbies

Had final day at Uni yesterday - hurrah! Now I just need to find my brian/time/motivation/energy to complete my final 2 essays

DISNEY - glad you are feeling more positive and things aren't as bad as they seemed How is your Dh coping these days?

SWEETKITTY - I will fight you for the most miserable pg woman title I fecking hate being pg - feel hellish the whole time and utterly miserable old boot/cow/snappy person for the past few years

My bump seems to have grown masses in the past week or so and quite uncomfy now. I am all outfront and boobs/belly this time. With DD I just exploded everywhere. Still only 8lb gain.

Aftre readning about all your BH I wasn't getting any but the last week I have been.

RE BEDS - DD is having her daytime nap in her big bed no probs now (she is 17 months) I haven't ried her overnight yet as I am so tired myself at the mo' I couldnt cope with having to get up more than necessary during the night. I'll put her in after I have finished my essays and this stupid virus thing has completely shifted. Her cotbed is going to go to newbie LO.

Glad everyone's scans have gone well.

RE LABOUR - I am looking forward to it. I know it will be painful etc but it means not being pg anymore - and to me the pain of even a couple days labour is worth not being pg and having a healthy baby. This time I won't beat myself up if I need an epideural.
No way am I having syntometrine or diamorphine though - made me vomit like volcano! Am just a bit scared about the hospital here - it looks a bit shabby and not very clean Am going to stay at home as long as possible this time. Hospital is only 5 mins drive away. Last time it was 45 mins.

Take care all.
xxx

RUMPEL · 27/03/2008 12:07

Brian? No not my essay writing friend - my brain (sleep deprivation)

Libra1975 · 27/03/2008 12:50

Afternoon all, this is my first post here and my first baby. I am living in Farnham but only moved there 5 months ago and don't really know anyone, plan to have baby (surprise) at Frimley Park Hospital (mobile epi if poss) due date 15th July so I am 24+2 at the moment.
Having a very easy pregnancy but still not enjoying it as I miss my white wine and social life!!

JODIEhavingababy · 27/03/2008 12:57

Welcome Libra1975, I'm due on the 15th too! There is a list here so feel free to cut and paste and add yourself!

You'll find us all a very friendly bunch, and feel free to moan and grumble along with the rest of us!!!!

Squarah · 27/03/2008 13:04

Hi All!

I had a lovely relaxing weekend and loads of gentle walking but still annoying aches in hips/ pelvis so am seeing a chiro later and trying to be sensible. Am very annoyed at being physically limited so early !

I'm really enjoying feeling more kickings and that DH can now share that with me. I'm also going bonkers wanting to buy everything now! But I know I should be sensible in case we get given some stuff.

Anyone seen any magazines with attractive nursery decoration/designs? I haven't found any. Want to do the room so it is not entirely baby-dominated and looks nice like the rest of the house - am I being too precious?!

Also is anyone else covered in red splotches called spider naevi??! They came about a month ago and there's even one on my face - gutted. Am hoping they'll disappear once I've dropped but not loving it!

Winge winge winge!! I'm fairly chirpy really- honest.

JODIEhavingababy · 27/03/2008 13:14

Hi Sqarah, I know how you feel about being physically limited! I used to walk alot too, but now I get a stitch if I walk too fast or too far and if I do over do it my hips and legs really ache, could be sciatica I think. Going to refexology is helping....

I also know what you mean about going crazy in the shops, I can't wait, there isn't really alot we need though as DS is only 18 months, so we can re-use alot of his stuff, infact it will be him that gets all the new things any way like a new room, new bed, new brother he he

pigleychez · 27/03/2008 15:02

Hello Everyone

Welcome Ichef and Libra1975

Just returned form my 24 week midwife appointment. Have been holding off scoffing all the easter eggs (Been sooo hard!) as last time i had a trace of sugar in my sample and midwife was talking about Gestational diabetes! I saw my proper midwife this time (she was off with sickness last time) and again she noted the sugar levels in this sample but said it wasnt anything to worry about so came home and scoffed an egg or two! Yummy!

4d scans- We plan to have one done at around 30 weeks. Will be great to see baby moving around. Baby has been sooo active lately it will like watching a little show! Even the midwife commented on its constant movements whilst she was having a feel.

Hope everyones ok

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 16:50

hello everyone 25 weeks today means 15 (or 17 max to go) not that I'm counting every bloody day I know I should be really grateful I'm pregnant and all that but boy is it hard sometimes. Saw the 10lbs 3ozs newborn today at toddlers and a newbie who is 28 weeks pregnant with no2, she had her DD at 26 weeks thats like next week poor wee thing was in SCBU for 4 months. I know I moan like mad about being pregnant but would rather stay pregnant than have a premmie.

pigley - enjoy scoffing your eggs, still think you should go with Abigail as a girls name

Jodie/Squarah - sciatica is actually quite uncommon in pregnancy more likely to be pelvic girdle pain or SPD, I think as it's not that understood yet you get told it's sciatica. This website is really good and has some useful tips on it pelvic girdle pain (hope that works)

libra - hello and welcome to mumsnet, it's fab!

rumpel - no way I am the most miserable pregnant woman ever, I even coughed yesterday and wet myself (must do more PF's) luckily I was in the toilet at the time but

beepbeep - Your 4D scan sounds lovely, we had one at 28 weeks with DD2, I agree I wouldn't get it done again but it was nice to see. On the knitting front I have given up, I did the fronts, back and sleeves of a cream cardigan fine then totally messed up the joining up the neckband. I spent loads on yarn, needles, book, stitch holders etc and the hours spent knitting it and it's rubbish! Saw this lovely pink cardi in Asda for £6 and wondered WHY? I know it's not the same as making it etc have lost all motivation now, maybe I should just do a blanket as well.

minipink - enjoy your hols, will be a short next term for you as well

gillythekid · 27/03/2008 16:59

I took some food intolerance tests when newly pregnant due to persistent migraine and cocoa came up. I've lasted without it since October but gave in over Easter and haven't had a migraine, I missed it soooo much and am praying I'm now ridiculously tolerant and can live on it for the foreseeable future. I too had my sugar under scrutiny but the last test was fine.
My baba is kicking very low down but every time DH is summoned to feel it, the little blighter stops. I'm really hoping baba will start behaving and give daddy a right good thumping.

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 17:18

Chocolate is ALL I want to eat right now has been my pregnancy craving for all 3 pregnancies, just as well MIL brought the DDs up 5 Easter eggs each today.

I think we have decided on the name too.....................................

EEC · 27/03/2008 18:19

Oh sweetkitty, do tell..

I 'm not really having any cravings thsi time, which is a bit boring really. I really craved (well ate a lot of!) chocolate ice cream the last two times, but this time it just seems to be lots of everything, except vegetables, which I have really gone off! Why would that be? I really don't get this pregnancy thing. At least I'm eating loads of fruit and milk (with chocolate in, of course).

Welcome libra1975.
