Come on the Sweetkitty- Spill the beans!

Your'll be glad to know Abigail is looking like the front runner at the mo!

libralady · 27/03/2008 19:29

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. It's been a bit hectic what with Easter and everything.

Went to a birthday party on Friday for one of Ds's little friends and ended up holding an 8 month old @ 22lbs. Since then my back has been completely buggered. I have cramps and spasms behind my kidney area and whilst it's not pain, it is incredibly uncomfortable.

Am just a little worried as it was around this time last time I got sciatica (yes mine was properly diagnosed) and to be honest I have had the occasional numbness and tingling and shooting pains down my left leg although nothing compared to last time - yet!

I just think the muscles in my back haven't fully recovered from the spinal operation I had last May when I had implants put in between my vertebrae to prevent them from trapping the sciatic nerve following prolapsed discs (all stemming from my first pregnancy.

Still trying to do my pilates but am now getting quite big and very uncomfortable out front. I've been having Braxton Hicks for a couple of weeks now. I certainly don't remember them with DS, well not this early on anyway (26+2).

I must try and exercise more I know but to be honest after a 9 hour day at work, coming home and dealing with DS, cooking tea, keeping house etc. etc. I am shattered and I'm not planning on stopping until 38 weeks.

I know I need to do something as my spinal consultant has said no C section whatsoever unless it is a matter of life and death due to having has my back muscles and ligaments detached. They won't be fully repaired for 2 years so the last thing I need is having my stomach muscles cut as well.

God this is moan city! Sorry guys.

Anyway, hello to the newbies. Another Libra! Hi and welcome. I'm not usually this so self absorbed.

Just having a down moment or three.

Kaz1967 · 27/03/2008 19:31

JODIE Am now letting Mum's opinions go over my head, we have family friends who I am really close to and I rang and spoke to them about what I do now they moved really recently so every question Mum or Dad (first time Dad and I have spoken since Christmas hen we really fell out ) I could answer Well Chris said.... sure shut them up [hehehe] they know him too very well and would not dare contradict what he says where as I obviously know nothing

I saw Midwife today everything fine bp down should not really be that surprised as I am just so much more relaxed since making the decision to move up to windy Lincs. But I wish someone would tell Bump that at nearly 24 weeks being shy with the midwife is practically pointless you are too dam big next time there will be really no point. Did not help that my placenta is anterior and high up and initially she thought that was the monster (why on earth would they make it easy for them never have before) I was also having BH contractions which confused matters further.

It was such a beautiful day here and warm that after midwife and college I went to the zoo for the afternoon.

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 20:50

pigley - my Abigail is Abigail Sadie after my Gran but gets Abbie although she knows she is an Abigail. The name really suits her though, only problem is it is really popular and I know loads of other Abbie's, hopefully she won't be known as Abbie R at school.

libralady - ouch that sounds v painful, I think the article was saying that pregnancy in itself cannot cause sciatica but can make it worse if you already have it which makes a lot of sense with the extra weight and the relaxing of your ligaments. I know I moan like hell about it all but at least I have the comfort that apart from a few twinges it will go once the baby is born. Couldn't imagine living with this sort of pain all the time, must be hell. Not surprised you are having a down moment you have an awful lot on. Moan away makes a change from me!

kaz - mothers eh? Mine is Mother from hell. She thinks she is an expert on everything as she has had 2 children, she told me not to breastfeed (as she didn't), to wait until DD1 was 2 before ttc no2 (we waited 9 months), that real women have sons and she has hit the jackpot having one of each, that maybe it was for the best that my baby died (in Aug) as 3 DC would be expensive, I should wait a year before ttc again, oh could be here all night but you get the picture, hardly supportive best kept at arms (or 80 miles) length

pigleychez · 27/03/2008 21:08

sweetkitty-
Are you going to tell us this name or not !!

MINNIE1 · 27/03/2008 21:29

isaidno & jodie
Thank god i am not the only one craving a cig, It is driving me mad !! i really want one..

ECC
I am gone off veg too, carrotts are ok(ish). but this pregnancy has been the really unhealthy..

Libralady,
God girl you are well due a good moan.. You really are going through the mill.. I remember how shattered i was while working and coming home to DD and doing tea. It does take a hell of alot out of you.

All well here today, (for a change) feeling big out front.. Cant wait to meet this baby ..

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 21:34

I think we are going to call her Bethany Grace, definitely Bethany well about 98% maybe she will pop out and not look like a Bethany. Only name DP and I liked, "goes" with surname and not like other DDs names. DD1 likes Rebecca today after someone on "Me Too" (cbeebies programme for the first timers who are so fortunate not to have suffered it yet) DD.

Don't tell anyone OK it's a BIG secret.

libralady · 27/03/2008 21:47

SK we like the name Bethan. Chose it for DS if he was a girl. Could be the welsh coming out in me though. Thinking about Luke if this one does indeed turn out to be a boy as has been predicted by the sonographer but then nothing is 100%

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 21:53

Liked Bethan too libralady but think Bethany suits DP's one syllable name better (notice I am blaming it all on DP's name ) non Welsh as well.

The other tow have Hebrew biblical names as well though.

pigleychez · 27/03/2008 21:57

Sweetkitty- Thats a lovely name

My friends 6mth old is called Bethany Marie.
Dont worry your secrets safe with us!

libralady · 27/03/2008 21:58

Don't get me wrong I like Bethany as well.
I've double barrelled my surname to DH's as I didn't want to lose my identity.
DS has DH's surname, but my surname is one of his middle names. DH's has a single syllable surname with an s which make it plural iyswim, plus without the s it could be a first name.
God I am rambling now, it must be time for bed...........

sweetkitty · 27/03/2008 22:05

DDs just have DP's surname as mine really doesn't go with his (and I don't think I will ever change mine to his either) it sounds quite hard especially with a Scottish accent so needs a forename ideally that flows with 3 syllables, names like Eva, Maya or Emma just wouldn't go IMO.

MINNIE1 · 27/03/2008 22:19

Love the name Sweetkitty..
Have the same problem as alot of names dont go with DP surname, names have to be short as surname is long. No idea what to call this one.

pigleychez · 27/03/2008 22:25

Anyone else been thinking of names?

We have and so far the favourites are Matthew George for a boy and either Abigail Rose or Lucy Rose for a girl.

Kaz1967 · 28/03/2008 00:07

Thought of names ages ago no idea why
If bump is a boy Alfred or George (both family names) Beathan (Life) Benedict (Blessed)

If bump is a girl Keziah (family name) Keiko (blessed child) Mirabelle (Lovely; wondrous)

MINNIE1/jodie most of my cravings are healthy lord knows why I appear to be the only one. Just confirms how odd I am LOL in the first 3 months it was satsumas (nothing else of an orange type would do) now I have a real thing about fruit and veg esp raw. Today I came out of tescos on the way to the zoo with cherry tomatoes, packet ready to eat carrots and celery, both with humus, baby sweetcorn, strawberries, grapes and ready to eat box pineapple. I have very rare cravings for chocolate friend looked at me shocked when I demolished a snickers in one making I am enjoying this Mmm noises I just did not know I was doing it it just happened and I had a absolute thing about salty foods for a few weeks too. But give me a choice of what to eat and 9 times out of 10 I will go for a nice crunchy salad

isaidno · 28/03/2008 07:46

We are getting hardly anywhere on the names front.
DS1 wants Amy (no idea why) which I quite like.
Then we have Emma, Rebecca, Keira, Elizabeth...but nothing we both really like.

disneystar · 28/03/2008 07:58

minnie1 i to often want a cig
drives me nuts some nights,i gave up smoking in october i was only a 10 a day person, and no one can believe i actually did it,but i will never go back to smoking, when other people smoke it now makes me feel sick,
funny though my children never ever saw me smoke i was always outside in the evening when they were in bed not once in the house.
i think its the habit it miss.
going to bristol today to the fetal heart medicine centre,to have an echo on this lil guys heart, its going to take 2 hours in traffic at rush hour, with all my kids
cant wait,at 4pm just when there all tired and hungry,
if this scans ok were are kind of plain sailing,i know he has head problems but the heart is a different thing
fingers crossed mums today
have a good day to all lets hope for some warm sun again today

EEC · 28/03/2008 08:23

Good luck today Disney, Everything crossed for you.

Kaz - Lucky you with all your healthy cravings.

Libralady - Hope you can manage to take it easy a bit. Sounds really hard. Any cjhance of a rest this weekend?

Like all the names so far, especially Mirabelle and Lucy Rose. We are really struggling. Thinking maybe Elizabeth (Bess), but for a boy, well we really can't agree on anything. Possibilities are Edward (Ned), Joe, Yann.

Poledra · 28/03/2008 09:36

Fingers crossed for you disneystar.

Haven't been on for ages as I was fretting about my anti-Es, but have been lurking. Had the next set of blood tests and the foetal cerebral blood flow scan yesterday and all looks well. Anti-E levels have stayed the same and blood flow was right in the middle of the normal range (if the blood flow starts to get faster, that means the baba has anaemia as my body is destroying her blood cells). So, all well at the moment, back in another 4 weeks for the same.
My only worry was that her measurements were all to the smaller end of 'normal' - this doesn't seem right as both my other babies have been big and long (dh and I are both tall). However, as dh pointed out, we didn't have the other 2 measured at this point (24 weeks) so we've got no comparison and she's got plenty of time to catch up, all going well. Don't you hate it when your dh is all reasonable with you and you can't really argue with them?

We've got 3 names in the frame at the moment, but I'm not telling!

Minkus · 28/03/2008 09:54

Hello everyone

Soz not posted in a while, Easter really took it out of me! Have lurked but not posted, nothing interesting happened here to report

All the names mentioned are lovely, EEC I love Bess that's such an unusual (but not weird iykwim!) and beautiful name. Kaz Keziah is in my family too! Although about 150 years ago so no special connection. My mum has been reseraching her family tree and it's a great source of names- Chaniah for a boy is the most unusual so far! We're still decided on Hugh for a boy and either Lily or Greta for a girl (sorry Rumpel know that Greta reminded you of a goatherder!)

Went to a Virgin Vie party last night and someone who lives in my road was there, she's also pg with her second but I hadn't realised even though we wave and say hello a couple of times a week. She's 23 weeks (I'm 25 now) and in comparison my bump is absolutely enormous- I felt like such a heifer next to her. She's got a lovely taut little bump whereas mine is just huge and floppy .

Well it's bucketing down with rain here so ds and I will be doing lots of playdoh and sticking today I think!

Have a good day all xx

Morning all,

What horrible weather we are having here, what happened to the slight promise of spring yesterday?

You've all thought of lovely names, we liked Emily for a girl, but thats not going to happen! So we are tied up in Daniel John or James Michael..... I quite like Daniel (or Danny) but DH is a DJ too and it might get confusing when post comes later in life, I only say this coz DH's dad is a DJ too and he said it was a nightmare......

NikNakF · 28/03/2008 11:46

Hello all,

minipinkscottish · 28/03/2008 12:02

Names are so difficult aren't they. I have tried to avoid thinking about it too soon this time but have been looking at baby name books this week. thought it would be easy to choose a girls name as I only have 1 already but it's hard when you have 5 others to fit in with. I have also given each of my children 3 middle names - crazy I know - I think I had pregnancy madness the first time and then just carried on every time. Some of the middle name s are family names though - but I'm running out of those as well. Liked names so far are Niamh and Abbie - here is list of my others full names -

DS Stefan Allan Logie
Ds Jaydan Alistair Foley
DS Ciaran Gordon Cowan
DD Taylor Nicole Lawson
Ds Mackenzie Kennedy Makin

when I look at them it makes me laugh - none of them thank me for giving them such long names....

sweetkitty · 28/03/2008 12:19

hi everyone been v busy this morning again, I have 10 birthdays in the next 10 days including two sets of twin girls - expensive time! So been out present buying. Was v good resisted a little outfit in Next, it was cropped dungarees and a top, I love these for newborns they look v comfy. Little cute dresses and frilly knickers are lovely but I think not as comfy, little cotton sets are better.

Loving all the names so far, my boys name was Elliot although DP had changed his mind and liked Logan. The other two are

Abigail Sadie (but gets called Abbie so I'm a bit biased towards it) and
Talia Erin which has just grown and grown on me and she really suits it

I think Bethany Grace will fit right in I have a second cousin Mums sisters daughters daughter who is called Beth but since I have never seen her I don't think it's bad calling ours Bethany, also funny enough my Mums sister is called Grace so I'm pinching both names from her family!

JODIEhavingababy · 28/03/2008 14:15

Gosh Sweetkitty it's almost like christmas with all that shopping to do!!!! I don't envy you in the slightest...

minipink what lovely names, very scottish!! I love the name Mackenzie, but as we're not remotly Scottish then I think it's a no no!

I had the shock of my life last night, I went out for a drink wit my friend ( I never go out after dark!!) and someone asked me many months pregnant I was.... I did a quick calculation... 6 MONTHS... Where did the time go??????? It's April next week, OH MY GOD, I started to panic a little......

I'm off out AGAIN tonight! Bloody hell! I'm going get something to eat with a friend and then go and see that new film with Matthew Fox, Vantage Point. I hope it's good otherwise I will be asleep before it starts!!!
