Thread title reflects the fact that every day that passes it dawns on me a bit more

Morning everyone! Feeling really sorry for myself today! Went to get my hair cut yesterday and go shopping. Had to sit and wait for 2 hours for haircut on a really uncomfortable metal chair then walked from one end of shopping centre to the other and back again, why is it the shop you want to go to is never near where you parked? Today my pelvis is AGONY! Feels like someone is shoving a red hot poker right through the front and out through my back everytime I move! Have been a blubbing mess this morning just getting out of bed, poor DH didnt know what was going on! But on a positive note.....no sickness this morning, touch wood, dont think I could actually make it to the bathroom in a hurry!! I'm going to go and eat a cadbury's flake and mope around on the sofa for a while, probably wont help, but might make me feel a little less miserable!

Sorry for the long 'woe is me' post!

MrsHOP · 20/03/2008 10:22

Hi ladies, everyone is very chatty at the moment!

With the eating/weight thing, I am finding that some days I am very healthy and some days I just crave bad food - I am feeling a bit guilty about the sweet cravings after seeing how much the little one moved after my bar of chocolate at the scan...

I am a curvy 6 footer (or 'tall and booby' as someone once described me) and never bothered to weigh myself before the pregnancy - but now I am checking every week just to make sure I am putting it on! I want baby to get nice and big and strong and don't really care about my arse at the moment - which is the size of a small house at the moment by the way...

hatrick what was bad about centerparcs, I have heard good stories about it so am interested to hear your experience?

isaidno · 20/03/2008 11:06

good news Disneystar; hello everyone else!

MissChika · 20/03/2008 11:09

Morning everyone!

Great new thread - how many threads do you think we can get through before we move to post-natal threads?!!

Disneystar - glad to hear the good news. Big hugs.

I'm not too fussed about the weight thing as I started off the first four months really healthy. The only food I wanted to eat was salad and fruit! I have got into fairly bad habits over the past few weeks though - chocolate every day, crisps, M&S clotted cream rice puddings and those sweet shrimp things that you used to get at the local corner shop!

Have also heard good things about centreparcs Hatrick ...

Hope everyone has a fab day today.

M x

JODIEhavingababy · 20/03/2008 11:24

Morning all,

bebejones, hope your day is getting better,
hatrick, Sorry about your crappy holiday, I too am intruiged (sp!) as to why it was so bad? Which Centre Parks did you go to?
EEC I'm sure it will all sort itself out in the end! I hate builders and building work, don't know how people manage it with kids, it was a nightmare when we just had the dog!

I think I've been a poor mother today , I've sent DS off to nursery even though he has a bad cold and he had a bad nights sleep (but hen so did I!) and he had a nose bleed in the night (bizarre!) He didn't have a temperature, otherwise I wouldn't have senty him, and he seemed himself this morning... I'm sure nursery would have called if he was poorly! I just REALLY needed to get some work done (says she happily typing away on MN!)

twinkle1 · 20/03/2008 11:32

Morning everyone,
Hope you are all well.
I went to my first twin group yesterday It was really good, everyone one friendly and i picked up lots of useful tips. It is held in an indoor play center so DS2 had a fab time Also they is no charge and they provide free snacks and drinks!!! apparently its funded by the local health authority (Amazingly)The weather here is awful freezing cold.Is everyone else having lots of braxton hicks???? im having about 4 and hr at the min!!!!! Its bloody uncomfortable.
Hope you all have a nice weekend
Twinkle

MissChika · 20/03/2008 11:56

Hey Twinkle - Yep, getting braxton hicks quite regularly now but not as often as four an hour! Maybe it's because there are two of them! I am finding them fairly uncomfortable now - although saying that I am starting to feel uncomfortable in general anyway, especially trying to put shoes on!!

pigleychez · 20/03/2008 13:06

Twinkle- Its great youve joined the Twins club. They can be a great source of support and advice.
When i was at college doing my early years diploma, part of our work experience was to be at a family placement. Mine was with twin boys(4mths).
The mum attended a twins club but it was quite a journey away and she struggled to get there.
Together we came up with the idea of trying to start up a more local one. A few months later after numerous letters to the council trying to find premises, arranging funding etc the "Medway Twins and Multiples club" was formed! The mum and I were in the local paper and went round the local shopping centres stopping people with twins etc to tell them about the new club. We developed quite a club with numerous families joining.

That was about 8 years ago now but the club is still going strong!

Keep going and im sure you will develop many friendships along the way

Squarah · 20/03/2008 13:29

Hi everyone - only just found you - can I join - am due 24th July - first one - no idea sex!?!

Feeling well apart from like an OAP - painful SI joint and left hip so have asked the MW to refer me to physio but wondering when I'd actually have the time to go! I'm self-employed so not entitled to time off work. Maybe I could just go for a chiro? Yoga slightly helpful.

MrsHOP · 20/03/2008 14:32

welcome squarah, we are a chatty bunch!

sweetkitty · 20/03/2008 15:01

hello everyone not much to report today busy day DD1 had her Easter party at nursery and looked lovely in her Easter bonnet. Was doing OK on the pelvis front today but last half hour it'a agony. Still have DP for the next 4 days at home. Woman at toddlers had a 10lbs 4ozs boy last week wow and have been keeping an eye on the Due in March thread (as used to be on it) and they are all having 10lbs+ whoppers as well. Saw some lovely little pink clothes when out shopping today, may just have to start buying some, the little summer dresses are adorable even though I know deep down a newborn does not need a flowery summer dress.

bebejones - hope you are resting up today

hatrick - welcome back and thanks for posting on my other thread, which Centerparcs did you go to? We nearly booked up for Cumbria this year but decided against it with my present condition, we are planning to go next year though

kaz1967 - you will get through the next few months, why do we pregnant women always make life difficult for ourselves by moving etc when pregnant?

twinkle - twin group sounds fun can I pretend I have twins to get in

Squarah - hello and welcome to mumsnet, once it hooks you in you will never leave! I'm on here most days moaning about SPD and SI pain, I know what it feels like hobbling about like an OAP, I had physio last time but didn't rate it, I have a support belt as well.

isaidno · 20/03/2008 17:58

10lb 4 makes my eyes water! DS1 was nearly 7lb, DS2 nearly 8lb, so I'm hoping this one is not 9lb! I am only little!!

I've been painting the nursery. I want to get it sorted before I am too fat to do it myself! Also it will just become a dumping ground otherwise. Will do some more later when DC are in bed. i am not foolhardy enough to attempt to paint in their prescence.

How is you knitting doing Kitty? I am nearly half way through my blanket, so hopefully it will be finished before this baby hits puberty!

Welcome Squarah! There is a list you can add yourself to.

I am having loads of braxton hicks - especially if I walk anywhere.

sweetkitty · 20/03/2008 18:03

isaidno - well I only have the neckband to do on the saga cardigan was going to do it tonight but it looks a bit tricky. Was planning on a pink one next but saw a nice pink cardi in Asda of all places today only £6 the wool would be more than that.

DD1 was only 6lbs 3ozs and I ended up with a second degree tear and a tonne of stitches, DD2 was 9lbs 3ozs and I had a slight graze BUT if one more person tells me DD3 is heading for 10 lbs I will scream.

EEC · 20/03/2008 18:13

Both mine were about 7lb 7 oz. I hope that means this one will be. Do they usually get bigger each time?

Well done with knitting. I'm still trying to finish off scarf I started before Christmas, before I embark on cardi (or blanket) - not sure whether I'm brave enough for the cardi. Do you have an easy pattern SK?

bebejones · 20/03/2008 18:20

Well, if anything is guaranteed to give your DH a heart attack it's the doctor not being able to find your baby's heartbeat!!!

DH made me go to doctors this afternoon because of the pain and we did have a very interesting scary moment where my doctor struggled to find a heartbeat! Thankfully after about 5mins he managed to get a short snippet before the awkward little bugger moved again. She is very low down and right at the back (which is why I dont look massive) and we knew this from the scan last week, hence why we need to go back!! Ended up with 2 doctors trying to sort me out! But all is ok, they reckon it is severe pelvic pain and I am not allowed to do any excessive moving! Oh well, no housework for the moment...poor DH!

As if that wasn't enough to rattle him a bit (was the first time he had been with me when they tried to listen to heartbeat) I am going to my mums for Easter, and he is having to stay at home as we couldnt get our 3 cats into a cattery. Feel really bad as Christmas was a wash out as MS was so bad and now he will be alone for Easter. Will have to get hime the biggest Chocolate Egg I can find!

Sorry for the long ramble. Hope everyone else is looking forward to the long weekend!

Kaz1967 · 20/03/2008 18:45

Thanks everyone I am trying very hard to let it go over my head. I suspect I will not be able to hear the phone tonight I wonder what I will be doing when she rings? In the back perhaps I am such an ungratefully daughter

tafftaff · 20/03/2008 20:24

Happy Easter everyone! May you all enjoy as much chocolate as your bellies will allow!

Disney, fab news...am so pleased for you.

Minkus, love the new thread title! Think it captures exactly what I have been thinking for the past couple of weeks. Scan - check, heart burn - check, maternity clothes - check, wriggley baby - check, super excited - double check!

Welcome Squarah. I'm a first time mum too and MN has been fantastic, especially everyone on this thread!

Have a great evening and a brilliant bank holiday

Kaz1967 · 20/03/2008 20:32
