I remember being a bit surprised by that too, hana although it was actually quite reassuring as she was lovely. And I did have a lot of qu's in the end. I saw her twice, I think. C-section 1st time, VBAC the 2nd yay!

Smudge, I would if I were you and it doesn't really matter what number you ring as they'll no doubt have to transfer you! They change things every year anyway, I'm sure this will be the 3rd set of community mw's for me. If I ever see one, of course.

Good news from me too, had my private scan this evening and all is fine . Though they've put my due date back a week, and am now due on 30th Oct so only 9 weeks pg. Very frustrating to go backwards! Was lovely to see the little bean on the screen with its heart beating strongly. Told my mum tonight and she's really excited too.

Congrats to everyone else with positive scan results, and welcome to Rosebury & Jenwa.

Tired and when I sleep I wake up feeling sick!

Have scan a week weds so looking forward to it and hoping all will be ok.

Right, off to bed now as tired! Its late tonight, was in bed by 8 yest!!!

Speak again soon.
Goodnight!

bethoo · 28/03/2008 22:16

had two crisp sandwiches so hope to be ok. i have slept all afternoon and will prob go to bed once NCIS has finished.

does anyone know how to start a thread? have no idea though i am sure i started one ages ago!

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/03/2008 22:24

Go to the topic that you want to start one in Bethoo, and there's a link in the blurb at the top for creating a new conversation.

bethoo · 29/03/2008 12:59

afternoon ladies, only been up an hour! still shattered. only 2 days to go til scan adn i know there is someone else here who also has their scan same time. so many people to remember!! do you think the other ante natal threads have as many members as us?

lilibet · 29/03/2008 14:42

Hello ladies, sorry for the hijack but I'm looking for Hedgepig and thought this would be the best place to find her

Hedgepig, we've been talking about you on the TTC thread -pop in sometime and give us an update - we like success stories and we don't get many!!

Good Luck to the rest of you for October

Aubergenie · 29/03/2008 15:27

Afternoon ladies, I've been lurking but too busy to post anything recently. It's really great to hear the good news about various people's scans.

Rosebury - you must be so relieved. Fantastic news.

I had my MW booking in appointment this week and was quite surprised to be told that as I was low risk, I don't need to be seen again until 26 weeks. I know nothing about all this birthing business as this is my first time. Is this normal?

I enquired about home births (not sure if I want one or not, but I definitely wanted to consider it) only to be told that they've suspended them due to lack of staff. I'm really disappointed, especially as my hospital recently came out really badly in that recent maternity report.

I've got my 20 week scan booked for 22nd May. It feels like such a long time to wait to next see the baby! I would at least have liked an appointment so that I could hear the heartbeat.

The good news is that I'm finally starting to feel more human. Take heart, poorly sick people - it does get better. At just over 13 weeks the nausea is definitely easing slightly and I even managed to stay awake till 11 last night, for the first time in months!

Bethoo - I'm really glad I'm not the only one with a secret taste for crisp sandwiches. I've had a couple of cheeky ones this week too. Terrible - I'm supposed to be cutting down on wheat, but sometimes nothing else will do.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
x

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/03/2008 15:42

That's really crap Aubergenie. NICE recommend that 10 appoinments are given during a (first) pregnancy, and although these will be more focussed towards the latter weeks, going 13 weeks without any appointments is madness. Remind me where you are? I have already seen my mw 3 times, and have my next appt in 5 weeks, and it's not even my first!

In case people haven't seen, I will be removing donbean from the stats, as she has had a m/c.

sambrads · 29/03/2008 17:06

hello everyone

went last night to see GIVE MY HEAD PEACE and it was fantastic had a brill night out.

got my date for my 22 week scan its on the 28th may it does seem so far away but then when i go to the scan i will be over half way there .

really pissed off today my next door neighbour has been playing loud music for the last hour and when i mean loud i mean it seems like we are playing the music ourselves !!!

my husband is not bothered as he says that he would rather them play it now than 1 in the morning but i dont think you should have to listen to music if you dont want to .

i am so mad i feel like a prisoner in my own house i pay for a mortgage and i have to spend my sat afternoon listening to music which is a load of shit!!

am i being unreasonable or should i go in and kick there ass!!!!!

Aubergenie · 29/03/2008 17:22

CSWS - I'm in East London (Newham). I'm glad it's not just me who thinks it's a rather hands off approach.

I'm so sorry to hear the news Donbean. I've been there and know how horrible it is. If you're reading, please take of yourself and rest up. I really hope you'll be joining us again soon.
xx

snowymum · 29/03/2008 18:06

Sambrads, you've prompted me to delurk and ask if I can join this thread (first baby, yey, due 2nd Oct the day before my birthday, first scan was fine, finally feeling a bit less sick this weekend!), because we ended up moving house because of neighbours like that! It absolutely isn't fair, it's dreadful and can ruin your life. ALthough I wanted to punch them in the face, it helped going round to talk to them, hateful thing though it is to do. Ours had loud music, a dog, four children and a Welsh male voice choir father in a small terrace... not ideal! Although it got a bit better when we'd spoken to them (several times) we thought life's too short and moved. And now every moment of silence is cherished. Go and have a word...

tedmundo · 29/03/2008 18:33

aubergenie - I had to smile at your staying up til gone 11 comment as a couple of nights ago I was still up at 10pm and my darling dh was ripping the pish out of me as I truly have not seen that kind of time for WEEKS now! And I didn't turn into a pumpkin.

I am feeling a bit better... do you think the end is in sight for this gawd awful sickness?

The 2nd trimester is knock, knock, knocking and I remember with ds they were HAPPY DAYS!

Good evening ladies what a lot of messages I am having trouble keeping up with everyone. On the subject of tiredness I have been out for lunch with a friend and shopped all day and I am not tired it feels like a miracle, and on the subject of food I also found myself eating crisp sandwiches when I was at a childrens party the other common food seems to be cheese and onion iin whatever form I recently had a jacket spucd with melted cheese and an entire onion large, chopped up and buzzed in the micro it tasted fab but I stank for ages.

Aubergenie absolutely disgraceful lack of resources in your area I am sure that the midwife you see will do her best but maybe you could try and find alternative areas of support in your area any ante natal groups yoga groups or National Childbirth Trust maybe even aquarobics for lakies with a bump. I know that none of this would replace the mw care that you should be getting but it might help with support and confidence.

Thanks to you all for your kind wishes they have been very much appreciated.

Iam deeply sorry for Donbean.

rosebury · 29/03/2008 19:57

sorry for typing error my tum is hurting from laughing so much at the thought of lakies with bumps swimming.

Lozza70 · 29/03/2008 20:18

Staying in tonight as I cannot stomach one more night out where I have to hide the not drinking thing. Have just dropped DH off at the bar and have settled down in front of Extreme Makeover Home Edition with a large bowl of beetroot??? Crazy I know! I'll be crying red tears when it comes to the reveal

Waiting until next weekend to start telling people, after the NT scan on Wednesday and after telling both families. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!

hedgepig · 30/03/2008 10:20

yes sam you are having a baby in October !!!! after my scans I am just starting to believe it I'm going to tell work officially next week (my boss already knows cos of the sickness and bleeding).

fairydust2 · 30/03/2008 10:47

Hi Everyone, I haven't been on for ages as I went on holiday and went through phase of thinking that maybe something wasn't right. I had my scan last Wednesday and everything is ok so starting to believe that I will actually have a baby in October too!

I'm sorry for those that have had bad news and wish the best for all of them in the future.

I'm now 13 weeks and starting to feel less naseous and am eating for five! I really don't want to put too much weight on as I was lucky enough to stay very small throughout my pregnancy. What exercise is everyone doing? I think I might try and go swimming a few times a week from now on.

Jane7 · 30/03/2008 11:19

Hi Bethoo - wanted to say good luck tomorrow with your scan. Mine is at 8.15am but i know yours isn't til a bit later. Fingers crossed for both of us.
