Hello ladies, the last thread appeared to run out, I hope you all don't mind me being so bold as to start a new one?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

smudgey - he may be getting a cold or something which is making him so grumpy. It will get better. You will feel less cr** and you will get more energy it's just a bit diffivlt to see that at the moment

SmudgeyDoodle · 20/03/2008 13:37

Thanks for that CSWS and Hedgepig. Feeling a little better as the monkey is in bed and I've had a bit of space....and a caramel shortbread

hansnava · 20/03/2008 13:43

hi ladies,

went up hospital for a early scan (my 2nd in three weeks) after my bleeding last night and they said all is well.

im ten weeks on monday so do you think its safe to start telling people now, ive heard if u have a scan at 8 weeks and everything is ok they the chances of ne thing going wrong r very very small. has ne one else heard this?????

on dreams: i had one the other night and in it i was going out with david boreanaz and we was being chased by the mafia or a hitman or something like that. lol.
aren't pregnant women meant to dream of fish or something along those lines

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 13:49

Great news hansnava. Could they find a reason for your bleeding? Someone posted stats recently on the m/c rate once you've seen heartbeat at different stages. iirc it's less than 2% for you now, so in your shoes I'd be telling people.

Did you decide between L&D and Lister btw? You never came back to your thread.

bethoo · 20/03/2008 14:12

well so it begins, had a phone call from mid wife and have a UTI so have to start on antibiotics. this is typical as my last pregnancy every time i had a wee sample i had a bloody infection!!! no doubt my group b strep will appear during this pregnancy!!!

hedgepig · 20/03/2008 14:15

CSWS talk of Lister and L&D makes me wonder whet you are? I'm just north of Royston just into Cambs so i will be going to the Rosie @ addenbrookes.

bethoo · 20/03/2008 14:20

hedgepig - i used to live in Bassingbourn

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 14:21

I'm outskirts of Hitchin (tiny village 15 mins drive from centre) hedgepig. perkypopsy and KSal are Lister too.

Boo for UTI bethoo.

hedgepig · 20/03/2008 14:27

gosh a little cluster of us how bizzare. Sorry about the UTI bethboo, keep drinking lots the abs should kick in soon. I must do some work, bye for now.

hansnava · 20/03/2008 14:30

hi csws

they said they hardly ever find a reason for women bleeding in pregnancy.

no i still havent decided where to go. i liked the idea ofthe lister coz they tell u the sex where l & d dont.
ive heard bad things about both hospitals but l & d where excellent last time i was there plus my sil was saying they have a special care baby unit where lister doesnt. i really dont know i will have to have a long hard think about it.

minervaitalica · 20/03/2008 14:45

Hello all! Apologies for disappearing again, but it is a pain not to be able to access MN at work!!!

Today is officially the start of the 12th week for me. Scan is next Tuesday though - so I have a few more days to wait...

Can I ask a bit of an embarassing question? Is anyone considering buying/wearing some maternity clothes already? Although I do not look pregnant as such yet, my waist/tummy are bigger than normal and trousers are starting to feel uncomfortable... I am afraid that I am putting too much weight on already - I thought you do not show until well into the second trimester?

bethoo · 20/03/2008 14:52

minerv - i cheat and do not invest in maternity wear as waste of money. i just wore low waisted trousers and at the end i wore my gym trousers!!

MrsTittleMouse · 20/03/2008 15:53

I would recommend that you buy some stuff a size too big for now. You'll be heartily sick of your maternity clothes by the time that you reach 8 months, and you'll probably need a size bigger after the baby is born too (while your uterus shrinks down).
It isn't abnormal to start expanding this early, by the way, there is huge variation between women.

rosebury · 20/03/2008 16:51

HELP Just had my scan and baby is small, I should be 11 almost twelve weeks but scan said 9 weeks does this mean that my baby is not growing properly and that I might lose it. Feeling very upset and worried.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 17:14

Could just mean that you ovulated later than you thought rosebury. How early did you get a positive pregnancy test? Did they find a heartbeat ok? Did they offer to rescan in a couple of weeks?

rosebury · 20/03/2008 19:47

Hi cantsleep heartbeat fine, had pregnancy symptoms within days of late period and did a test after seven days I am booked in for another scan in three weeks time.

hedgepig · 20/03/2008 19:51

Hi rosebury did you say anything to them at the scan? or were you too shocked? I woudl say talk to your mw but its bank hol so its not a good time. Maybe NHS direct can help?
I think CSWS has a good point were you keeping track of when you OVed? how long is your normal cycle.

minerv I'd just go for a bigger size at the moment maternity clothes tend to be very baggy where your bump will be so you need a bit more of a bump to fit in them. Also if you buy them now they will be more thick for winter/spring and actually you will need them most over the summer (I was last pg in 2003 the hottest summer on record and i had really thick maternity trousers I couldn't wear.)

jess1996 · 21/03/2008 08:34

Hello. I am 9 weeks pregnant and due on Oct 23rd. I've been following your thread for ages, but I've finally decided to join (bit scared I'm tempting fate). This is my 3rd pregnancy. My 1st ended in a missed mc and my 2nd was ectopic. I had a scan at 7 weeks which showed that the baby was in the right place and had a heartbeat. I am terrified about the 12 week scan though.

rosebury · 21/03/2008 08:38

hedgepig you guessed right I was not able to say a word at the scan, I have not slept much I have been reading the mc threads it does appear that I will probably lose this baby. I have decided to go for a private scan next week to see if there has been any progress and I will ask all the questions then.

sambrads · 21/03/2008 08:47

good morning ladies

had my scan last night and all is well .

the baby was waving its little hand at me and i was crying could not believe it !!

i am due 30th september 5 days after my ds birthday but i dont mind as long as i dont have the baby on his birthday as that would e awful on him .

i am on cloud nine now and looking forward t my new arrival in september

as for maternity clothes i bought a few things already got 2 pairs of jeans from marks and spencers for £2 in sale and a few things from topshop and gap in the sale .

i cant wear any of it as i have no bump but i will be in it soon enough i think

perkypopsy · 21/03/2008 09:08

Hi Sambrands great news! lad to hear you are not showing too - I kep poking mt tum but still nothing there

buttercupbabe · 21/03/2008 09:11

Hi have not posted on here much as I wanted to get the first 12 weeks out of the way and make sure that everything was ok.
Sambrads I'm due the same day as you. Which is my sisters birthday and 3 days after dh's. I had my scan Wednesday and it was so lovely to see that everything is going well. So I know how you feel about being on cloud 9. Isn't it great being able to tell people now?
I'm in that in between stage where things are getting too tight but I'm not really ready for maternity stuff.
Hope everyone else is well.

hedgepig · 21/03/2008 10:12

morning has anyone stated on the easter eggs yet? Unfortunately chocolate is still making me sick at the moment but hopefully I can tolerate a little bit.
welcome jess it must have been great to see the heartbeat at the early scan, not too long to 12 weeks fingers crossed.
rosebury - I find writing the questions down before I do anything medical helps, I feel like an idiot getting the bit of paper out but at least you hopefully get the answers you want. Have a good easter all I'm off to the seaside for a few days - it looks like it will be sandcastles in the snow

bethoo · 21/03/2008 11:46

i am starting to feel normal again unti lthe evening when my mornign sickness rears its ugly head!!! anyone else starting to feel normal again though i think i have constipation now, just one thing after another!!!

i am jealous of all those who have already seen their bean. still only 10 days to go i guess. my scan is at 13 weeks.

just given little man a little bit of egg and it is everywhere!!! he is noW on his bottom bopping to MTV.

Lozza70 · 21/03/2008 15:56

The easter egg is safely in the cupboard until Sunday but I'm not really fancying chocolate at the mo.

Hi Jess, I'm in a similar position, 4th pregnancy and hoping for the best. I've got to 11 weeks and I'm hoping the power of positive thoughts will make this bean stick! Keep thinking positive and try not to worry too much
