Hello ladies, the last thread appeared to run out, I hope you all don't mind me being so bold as to start a new one?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh how horrible for boh PrePg and Daisyj. I have been where you are and it is a dark place. It does get easier.
Find the other ladies on the MC avengers thread they will look after you really well.

Not bad here feeling good. Convinced I can feel movement too!!. No news on scan yet I am about to phone and cry down the phone.

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 19/03/2008 14:25

Hi just wanted to quickly say hello to everyone, i hope you are all well

I had appointment with m/w today and she's coming again on monday to do booking appointment, so hopefully i will get a scan date through after that!!

I'm moving next week then on holiday the week after so fingers crossed i will catch up with you in a few weeks time

take care of yourselves ladies

sambrads · 19/03/2008 16:02

hello everyone in my baby book from the hospital they say the second trimester starts at 13 weeks as the first 12weeks is the first and most crucial time of pregnancy .

sambrads · 19/03/2008 16:10

if you google second trimester the sites that come up saying 13 weeks.

the span from week 13 til week 27

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2008 17:22

No sambrads - that's what I was saying earlier - I googled and could find sites saying 13weeks, sites saying 14 weeks, and sites saying 15 weeks, hence me saying that it's not conclusive .

ronshar · 19/03/2008 17:37

I contacted the hospital and I have another two weeks to wait for flipping scan. Two weeks, what a nightmare. Although having read a few horrible posts from some of our thread buddies and to be honest I dont actually want to go for a scan. I was already worried now it is all coming back again.

I was always taught 2nd trimester starts at 13th week. Who knows. Internet cant make up its mind sometimes.

I hope everyone is all good today.

Ekka · 19/03/2008 18:29

I'm only 8 weeks and our hospital usuall does scans at about 13 - 14 weeks so I've got anything up to 6 weeks to wait for a scan . Plus they don't tell you till about a week beforehand, and we're trying to book ourselves a 2 week holiday so I'd be really, really happy just to get a date!

So sorry to hear about other people's sad news - I'm thinking about you and hoping that you are all getting loads of love and support.... I've just let out the secret to a few friends so I'm now just keeping my fingers crossed that it all goes well. We're off to my parents this weekend and it'll be interesting to see if they suspect anything. May have to tell them ....

Still absolutely shattered here, but no sickness (and didn't have any last time) so I'm hoping that it stays that way..... Not sure I'll be able to check in to the thread over Easter, so I hope you all enjoy the long weekend!!!

Hello everyone, just a quick update.

Had my scan this evening and all is well. Dated me at 10w+1 so I will stay as the 14th for the time being. It is near enough.

Sickness is much better but not gone - but at least now it is bearable. MIL was here until Sunday and the help was much needed.

I am away now for Easter so HAPPY EASTER and eat lots of chocolate to help the bean grow. It is the law.

So sorry to hear some people's sad news. Last November I had the same experience as you Daisy and I know how it feels. I hope you're able to take time to look after yourself and grieve.

I had my nuchal scan today which all went well. They brought my due date forward to 30th September, which is great as it means I've crossed the 12 week threshold a bit sooner that I thought!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/03/2008 21:17

Ooh Aubergenie - did they say you were 12+1 or 12+2? (just pondering whether they have allowed for leap year or not)

hedgepig · 19/03/2008 21:35

hi everyone, hurahh I have the computer working in the bed room so I can post on mumsnet and lie down.
Daisy sorry to hear about the bean take care and good luck for the future.
I have my scan next thurs and my Nucal in the evening of the same day. I have very mixed feeling excitement and worry sice I am over 40 and I have been looking at too many statistics.

AandMsmum · 19/03/2008 22:21

Hello all, I haven't been here for a while, I 've been so tired I've just not managed to string a sentence together, my brain is not functioning properly!

I've caught up on the thread and so much has happened - I'm so sorry to hear about Pregpg and Daisy, I hope you're both recovering well and taking it easy.

On the movement front, although I'm only 9 weeks I am also convinced there's soming going on in there, I've definately got a bump now but I am assuming it's wind!

No cravings yet, last time I was keeping tescos in business for the amount of milk I was drinking, not a bad craving to have.

I hope everyone is coping well, I've got my scan next tuesday so excited and nervous at the same time - I just want it over with so I can start to enjoy being pregnant and maybe even tell a few more people. I don't know why but this time around I've been less inclined to spread the news, maybe it's because this one's our last and actually I don't want to share my bump with anyone yet... who knows..

Aubergenie · 20/03/2008 07:10

CSWS They told me I was 12+1.

I'm intrigued about some people being offered a nuchal scan as well as a 12 week scan. I wasn't given a choice. My 12 week scan WAS the nuchal one (I'm 40, so maybe this is why). Although I'm not planning on having an amnio or anything if the results aren't good, I didn't want to turn it down in case I didn't get offered a regular one. In fact, I was so relieved to see a heartbeat that I forgot to ask any questions, so I'm just going to have to wait for the blood test results to come back.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 07:38

Ahh, so yours have allowed for the leap year. I am allegedly the same number of weeks and days as you, but was given 1st Oct as a date!

sambrads · 20/03/2008 08:28

morning ladies

i would not worry what due date they give you your wee baby will come when its ready

i have been brought forward to 30th september but i think it will be 10th october as i ovulated late and i was induced with my ds

i read only 5% have there babies on there due date .

oh so cant wait i have my scan tonight

csws i will ask midwife about 2nd trimester

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 08:32

Good luck with the scan sambrads.

I think the thing about the trimesters is that there simply isn't a right answer, so even your mw will only be able to give her own opinion.

sambrads · 20/03/2008 08:39

i am so excited just hope everything is ok

is anyone having really strange dreams ???

i dreamt 2 nights ago that i caught my dh sleeping wit another woman it was awful.

when i woke up he had his arm round me and i felt like breaking it the dream felt so real

then last night i was stopped by the police on the motorway and they said they were doing me for drink driving and i was screaming i am pregnant you assholes i dont drink !!!!

oh god it was awful

hedgepig · 20/03/2008 11:23

Hi Aubergenie my standard scan is the NHS one but even though I'm 41 I have to pay for a nucal. The nucal people said its best to have the standard scan to make sure about the dates cos you have to pay even if you are too early for the nucal

KSal · 20/03/2008 12:27

hansnava i have also got constant pressure in my lower abdomen, i can't get used to it at all.

Had my dating scan yesterday, all appears normal and such a relief to see its little beating heart and frog like legs!

oh and sambrads I am having bonkers dreams

SmudgeyDoodle · 20/03/2008 13:10

Afternoon all. Glad people's scans have gone ok in the last couple of days. that exciting feeling when you see your little bean.. saying that, the amount of crap I'm eating, I reckon when we eventually get a date for a scan, the little bean will probably be rolling in chocolate with a packet of Quavers in his/her hand!

I'm in need of reassurance. Had the most awful morning with DS (13 months) He has been so whingey, clingy and doesn't know what he wants but somehow I'm supposed to. I had to take him out for a walk in the peeing down rain in order to preserve my sanity. Please say that it's not something that is going to last for the next year because I'm so tired, feeling sick and haven't got the energy. The little monkey also thinks it's hilarious to throw his spoon, fork and bowl full of food as hard and far as he can, grrrrrrrr [and breathe]
Sambrads I haven't been having weird dreams but then I never remember dreams. Yours sound pretty impressive though!

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/03/2008 13:19

Smudgey - it gets easier when they can talk, so pray for an early speaker!
