Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

I feel my ms may be putting in a return performance. i can just vaguely smell the remains of the cooking smell from the staff canteen upstairs and it is making me feel soooooo ill. I really wish I could go home, I am utterly miserable in work today.

mamamufin · 06/02/2008 15:42

Sooooooooooooooooooooo happy .
Can I recommend cyclizine to all you icky feeling folks.
It has made me feel alive for the first time in over three weeks. (Still feel a little icky but can defo cope) whey hey...

mamamufin · 06/02/2008 15:44

So sorry Hopefully. How insensitive does my last post make me. We must have been writing at the same time. I feel for you really.

hopefully · 06/02/2008 15:47

That's ok mammuffin. It did make me smile seeing those two posts next to each other!

slinkiemalinki · 06/02/2008 15:49

If it helps at all I just had a nose on the due in August thread and they are all chatting about scans and into the second trimester- we are nearly there, only a month or so to go before the sickness lifts...! there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

PrePG · 06/02/2008 16:04

Ooops, I just ate brie! Was halfway through a Pret baguette when I realized what I was eating!!!! Oh, well, I'm pretty sure I'll be okay.

slinkie thanks so much for that wonderful thought RE: the August thread! Can't wait!!! Was thinking, we're already a week into Feb - only three more to go! It's a short month!

So sorry for all fo you suffering so!

kel78 · 06/02/2008 16:20

Only 8 weeks and already my clothes are so tight, I had to put a bobble around my button this morning. Was never like this with the other two I think u deff bloat quicker the more times ur pregnant. Canot even think about buying mat clothes or looser clothes yet incase I temp fate so have ordered two pairs of loose joggers to put on when I get home in the nights. Cant wait till 12 weeeks so I can finally invest in some new clothes

hopefully · 06/02/2008 16:41

Prepg I'm sure your baby will forgive you this once!

I have just had a minor crisis at work and actually nearly cried because I felt sick, had been hoping to leave early and generally felt rubbish.

slinkiemalinki · 06/02/2008 16:41

That's the spirit PrePG - have already had a few transgressions myself! Pret's baguettes a bit annoying as you can get some much pasteurised brie these days I wonder why they don't use it (but suspect not as good, hmm).

hopefully · 06/02/2008 16:56

Wow, every single one of my posts has been whingy today. That is impressively pathetic of me. I promise to try harder tomorrow!

SuzyFloozy · 06/02/2008 17:20

Sorry to have to ask for details, but can I ask how bad people's ms was when they went to the doctors and got tablets etc.

I've only vomited properly once, but have spent the whole of today dashing to the toilet about to throw up.

I've got work tomorrow and don't know how I am going to cope when the ladies toilets are on the floor below where I work.

MummyToOneForNow · 06/02/2008 17:22

mustsleep at my hospital the midwives won't give the MATB1 form until after the 21 week anomaly scan (which for me was at 22 weeks) - still gives you time to get it to your boss by 15 weeks before your due date...

mamamufin · 06/02/2008 17:43

suzyfloozy my ms was pretty bad when I went and it sounds as if your getting that way. Everyone is different and it depends upon how you feel about taking medication at this stage. My opinion is that if they help, bring them on!, the drugs they prescribe have been around for a long time now anyway. The nausea is as bad if not worse than the vomiting I found. If you go I would defo ask to see a lady Dr as I found they are much more understanding. Ps have you tried the motion sickness bands.

SuzyFloozy · 06/02/2008 17:52

mamamufin thanks for your post, I'm a bit neurotic about medicines during pregnancy but I'm getting so desperate, its as if it's really gone up a notch over the past 48 hours and I'm not sleeping because of feeling sick.

I've got my first midwife appt next Tuesday, trying to last until then, will see how my day at work goes tomorrow.

Feel so pathetic but I've just spent the afternoon not allowing myself more than 10 paces away from the bathroom and almost unable to eat anything.

becaroo · 06/02/2008 19:24

Hello all.

Suzy..I can really empathise with you. I am not sleeping either due to ms...I think it was about 3am this morning when I finally fell asleep and my ds woke me at 5

Had my scan today and am 7 weeks + 2. Saw the baby and the yolk sac (it looked like the baby was holdin a balloon ) and the heartbeat going ten to the dozen!!! Got another on 27th.

The nurse at the EPU told me not to make an app with the midwife til after the 10 week scan so I wont be seen til March.

Sorry some of you are feeling so bad. Doctors can be so unsympathetic can't they?

carrieon · 06/02/2008 19:28

The ms hit today, I sneezed and my body thought it was a good idea to bring up a whole load of other stuff too. nice.
Had dd's swimming teacher asking me if I'm thinking of trying to 'catch on' again soon. What sort of a question is that?!!
Am v.envious of people who get to see midwives...its the pain of being due at the end of the month. I won't have my booking in until 12 weeks, which is mid-March, and the scan a couple of weeks after that. Feb is going to be a loooong month. Will pass the time planning my tupperware party, get me!

Dragonhart · 06/02/2008 19:38

Sorry lots of you are feeling so bad. Can I suggest that anyone not doing so already takes their folic acid tablet just before they go to sleep rather than in the morning. I find it makes a big difference as I sleep though most of the really sick feeling I get from the folic acid. Not much help to those who cant sleep because of sickness though.

feelingpositive · 06/02/2008 19:55

Congrats Becaroo! Very exciting for you to see the heartbeat. Get news. I am thinking of booking a scan for next week just for reassurance and I think knowing there is a heartbeat could be very reassuring!

charitygirl · 06/02/2008 20:08

Dragonhart - the folic acid makes you feel sick? That is seriously unfair - I don;t feel nearly so hard done by now.

I am feeling much more positive today, following a stern talking to from my mother . If all remains well, I'll regret having been so gloomy. And if anything does go wrong, I'll feel crap for not enjoying it while I could. I'm not normally one fo a pep talk but that did get me out of my pessimistic mode. Am cheerful in fact! Long may it last. I now want my nausea to go - because it makes it hard to relax and enjoy being pregmnant, and if it does go it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad.

She also said I should buy a pg book and not get all my information 'from the internet'. The cheek!

charitygirl · 06/02/2008 20:12

And big hugs to all you really sicky girls. My nausea is probably the most wretched I've ever felt physically, but at least I'm not actually vomiting. Think you are all brilliant for contiuing to look after children, go to work, breathe etc.

splishsplosh · 06/02/2008 20:16

Becaroo - v exciting about the scan, and really reassuring too.

FP - sounds like a good idea if you can get a scan soon - our epu only takes faxed referrals - they have made sure they don't get exposed to lots of pleading calls - even the A&E dept has to fax them!

sorry to everyone suffering from ms. I'm still longing for some reassuring symptoms, but it sounds like some of you are really having a miserable time of it.

My nose is stuffed up, but maybe my sense of smell is pg alert, as I thought dd's baked beans smelt horrible today, and I've never noticed any smell at all before, let alone found it repulsive. Or maybe I'm just clutching at straws here

Sunshinemummy · 06/02/2008 20:33

Hi all, had a rotten day today.

After general worry about lack of symptoms posted on here many times, I went to the toilet today and there was a big streak of brown blood in it.

Completely panicked and called midwife who told me to go to A&E (apprently you can't go to EPU until you have been booked in). Called DP and burst into tears, so then was wandering round work trying to sort cover for meetings and log off, while crying my eyes out. So embarassing.

Met DP and we drove to A&E and basically spent the rest of the afternoon there. They tested my wee (I am still pregnant and there was a trace of protein), blood pressure (which started off high leading to lots of worry and suggestions I should take methal dopa, which I took last time and hated), bloods (all ok thankfully) and looked in my eyes (all ok again).

Unfortunately they will only scan you as an out patient so I have a scan booked for tomorrow before my booking in appointment. Gynae doctor agreed I definitely need a scan, but am tying really hard not to worry. Roll on tomorrow.

charitygirl · 06/02/2008 20:44

oh, sunshinemummy, what a bloody awful day. You poor thing. Lots and lots of luck for tomorrow.

crabby · 06/02/2008 20:52

Sunshinemummy, try not to worry too much. I have been bleeding for 3 days, not for two on and off for the last three weeks. Have had 2 scans, both normal. Still is majorly freaking me out (just started again tonight) and am trying to talk myself out of asking for another scan (last was a fortnight ago at 6 weeks) as I am told by the m/w that some people just do have bleeding for no reason and have a totally normal and healthy baby. This has happened to two of my close friends.

Won't stop you worrying as it is bloody (no pun intended) awful, but do know there are a lot of people out there who bleed for no reason with good outcomes.

May try and get another scan on friday... (still traumatised by ongoing bleeding). Best of luck with yours tomorrow. xxx

kel78 · 06/02/2008 20:59

Sunshinemummy, good luck for tomorrow.
