Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi charity girl not sure if its the same but I was having really bad pains on my left side where my ovaries are for days and when I had me early scan they said I had a cyst on my left ovarie which measured 4 cms. They wern't concerned they said it would just shrink as the baby grew and said it probably developed from when the egg was released. Not sure if its the same but apparently she told me it is common and nothing to worry about.

splishsplosh · 05/02/2008 19:31

I asked my GP for an early scan today, and she was sympathetic to the idea bit doesn't seem to have much control over it - she said she can request one, but that epu prioritise women in pain or with bleeding, so hopefully I'll get one, but seems no guarantees.

I'm very emotional too - nearly cried when I couldn't fine 1 of my shoes yesterday!!! So maybe that counts as a symptom as still nothing else, which I'm still stressing about

charitygirl · 05/02/2008 19:54

Hi Kel78 - thats interesting. They're not too painful yet, so its probably me being paranoid, but I am also happy to hear about ailments that turn out not to be a real problem!

Dragonhart · 05/02/2008 19:54

mamamuffin- you are so lucky to have such a good doctor. When I had awful ms with ds1, I went to doctor and I too cried. He did sign me off but nothing else.

Splish- My dsis had a mc then got preg quickly afterwards and her doctor said the same to her but she got a scan at 10wks (she had a missed mc at 8-9weeks). So you might still get one.

kel78 · 05/02/2008 20:03

splishsplosh -Did the doctor say she would ring you after she asked the epu, im sure they will give you one considering prev mc.
If not you can always get early scans done private for about £99 but if everyone else is having them then so should you.

feelingpositive · 05/02/2008 20:48

Hi Splishsplosh, sorry to hear that you are having so much grief to get an early scan. My Doctor just gave me the EPAU number and said I could ring them directly and request an early scan due to previous mmc. Similar to Dragonhart's dsis they have booked me in for a scan at 10 weeks as they had in their records that my previous mmc had stopped at 9+5 weeks and I know that you were similar to me. Perhaps you can try and call them direct and see if they have you on the records from your 12 weeks scan last time. They should be very understanding. hope it works out for you.

good morning!

I haven't been here for days as I have had horrendous morning sickness. Couldn't even keep plain food (toast, rice cakes) down. Was on ice cubes to keep fluids up and GP prescribed anti-sickness pills so I could eat again. I have just scoffed 4 slices of marmite on toast so I think I'm on the mend! Have felt truly awful though so mum has had to help out with DS as I couldn't do a thing. Hopefully today will be ok.

Got first midwife appt tomorrow, I can't wait .

Better go, DS has just woken up.

hopefully · 06/02/2008 09:16

Morning all! I have to phone my midwife tomorrow to arrange an appointment. i really want to whinge to her about my complete lack of symptoms (except the tiredness. Oh god, the tiredness), but imagine since I have absolutely no pain or anything it won't get me anywhere in terms of an early scan. Am almost tempted to buy one of those baby heart rate thingies, but know I would get obsessive and use it every day, and while it's probably not harmful, I'm sure the baby won't want to be prodded around on a daily basis!

DP started talking about names last night and I started crying and saying I was worried it wouldn't get beyond 12 weeks. Think he was a bit alarmed, as I'd been being quite positive!

bogie · 06/02/2008 09:26

Hi everyone,
Went to the doctors yesterday and she was usless (new doctor) She said what can i do for you and i told her i was preg and had been in hospital and she didn't do any checks no blood pressure nothing she just gave me a form and said hand that to the receptionist she will pass it on to the midwifes.
Nevermind hopfully the midwife will ring soon.
Was sick twice last night
Ds has been being sick and has a really high temp so we didn't get any sleep last night.
hope everyones alright.

meglet · 06/02/2008 09:33

hopefully I was really tired (never sick) with my first pregnancy, I'm sure you are fine. Make the most of doing bugger all and resting as it's your first!

bogie sorry you and DS are both ill, that is really rough .

Sunshinemummy · 06/02/2008 09:49

Well had horrendous journey in this morning again and went all hot and felt like I was going to faint at a couple of points. Luckily I got seats before I did and embarassed myself.

Midwife appointment tomorrow. Never have I been so eager to see someone medical!

mustsleep · 06/02/2008 10:12

well i have still not got my scan date through and am not seeing the midwife for another 4 weeks ( this will be the longest month ever)

thank god i seem to have stopped feeling sick all day (touch wood) just a little on an evening which i can totally live with

just shattered still roll on saturday!!

does anyone know when your midwife gives you your bd11 form or whatever it's called that you give to your employer so they can sort out your smp

i have read that if you want to claim MA you need to claim it with the form from your employer by 26 weeks, but to get the form from your employer they need to see the form that the mw gives you to work it out etc. now on the notes the receptionist at the docs gave me it says that i will not get this form from my mw until i am 26 weeks (which will be a bit late)

i can not ask the mw about this as i am not privilaged enough to be allowed a visit with her for another month( i'm not at all bitter ) and my boss is nagging me about the form already

hopefully · 06/02/2008 10:22

I'm faintly concerned that I'm not going to get to see the midwife for a million years or so, as I had to cancel my original appointment, and because she only works once a week, she can't phone to rearrange until tomorrow. I also want to confirm with her that I don't get a 12 week scan so i can go ahead and book my hideously expensive private one.

Thanks for the reassurance meglet, I need to stop obsessing!
Mustsleep, are you talking about the MAT1B form? I have no idea when you get it or when you have to give it to your boss, but if that's the ne you're after, you can prob do a MN search and find more info.

mustsleep · 06/02/2008 10:26

thank you hopefully that;s it a mat1b !!

kirstygem · 06/02/2008 10:33

I am so tired, have done 2 lessons of teaching from sitting at my desk today which I never do. Just dont want to move unless its to get more food. Ate so many pancakes last night. My stomach very big and I think the maternity clothes will be on much sooner than last time.
Only got to get to Friday then have a week off

feelingpositive · 06/02/2008 10:50

mustsleep your boss really has to calm down. As I work in HR I have some experience with maternity leave processes, and you are on required to tell your employer that you are pregnant before the 15 week before you are due! Mw's do usually give MATB1 forms at @ 26 weeks. The earliest you can take maternity leave is 10 weeks before your due date and your employer can't force you to take maternity leave earlier than your choosen date (which can be as late as sunday before your due date) unless you have a pregnancy related sickness absence in the four weeks before your chosen maternity leave start date.

Sorry for preaching, but I think your boss is way out of line and if she is being this demanding already it is going to be a really stressful pregnancy for you.

lecture over...

PrePG · 06/02/2008 11:20

charitygrl and leonieD - feel like I'm losing my symptoms as well, although it might be all in my head. This morning I put on a better bra than the ones that I had been wearing in an attempt to make me look not so huge, but then got upset when I looked in the mirror because I thought I was losing the one symptom that I had! Had to remind myself that I did that on purpose!

Am feeling very tired lately though - was asleep last night and one before by 10:30pm and it's not often I get to bed before 12 normally.

hopefully · 06/02/2008 12:32

OMG I neeeed to do some work and I just can't. I wish I could get signed off work. I have insomnia, I am tired, I am getting fatter because I can't exercise due to tiredness. My body is falling apart!

Grrr.

mustsleep · 06/02/2008 12:58

thanks feelingpositive i do feel like i'm being got at a bit, someone must have said something to her cos she has actully been helping me out somewhat this week although i suppose that could all change next week

have just taken ds to the docs and think he may have a bladder infection so am just waiting for the results of his sample, would it be wrong if i let him have to rest of the week off school if i hadthe rest of the week off work my mum looks after him and it is only for 2 hours but i always think that if e went to a normal daycare sort of place that i wouldn't take him etc, although i feel like i'm taking the piss cos i had the week before last off with dd

mamamufin · 06/02/2008 13:18

Mustsleep do not feel guilty about time off. It sounds as if you need to look after yourself and your ds. I am in my third week off now. I cant possibly work. I have constant nausea, vomiting and feel so weak and wobbly. On the positive side, this cyclizine I got yesterday seems to be helping me a titchy bit . Fingers crossed I am on the ups.

slinkiemalinki · 06/02/2008 13:23

Hello, have not posted for a while as seems to be lots of poor people suffering with morning sickness and battling on, and I have been in pretty good shape. Until I had a huge meal last night on a late reservation and it was all a bit much - felt quite dodgy this morning for a while but a cheese toastie has seen me right. Just think in two months we will be in fine bloom and swapping tips where to get the nattiest maternity gear! I was just looking at Isabella Oliver's new summer stuff and quite excited as last time I had a winter pregnancy so will have to be new stuff... shame...
I have my first scan and first appointment with my OB on Monday at 8.30 - excited and a bit nervous really just hoping for the heartbeat really at this stage, as I think that's the best I can expect!

DebitheScot · 06/02/2008 13:26

Hey Starlight you won a prize! That's quite exciting!

Can't believe some of you are being pressured from bosses about maternity leave. Thats attrocious appalling (can't spell) considering you have been nice by telling your boss this early. I've told my hod but not 'the' boss, I will tell her after the scan assuming everything is ok but not before then. And even then I will make sure she appreciates that I am being considerate by telling her before I 'have' to.

TreadmillMom · 06/02/2008 15:05

The smugness of no MS is being swiped from my mug!
7 weeks now and MS started mildly this weekend, like most of you guys when hungry feel sick once eaten feel fine.
Today raced to the canteen, I?ve eaten but I feel dog rough now. Every time I take a sip of my tea I feel utterly spewy.
Not much on so there isn?t any distraction.
I?m playing with my blouse collar, wheeling my chair in and out from under my desk, yawning but in a nauseous fashion, stretching, bending over, sitting up, I need a walk in the fresh air but how to escape?

mamamufin · 06/02/2008 15:41

Sooooooooooooooooooooo happy .
Can I recommend cyclizine to all you icky feeling folks.
It has made me feel alive for the first time in over three weeks. (Still feel a little icky but can defo cope) whey hey...
