Thought I would take the plunge as I seem to have killed the previous thread . Will put a link on the old thread so you know where to come!

How strange excitable- I almost put on my message that I hadnt seen you on here for ages but thought you might think I was a bit stalker like! Is MS any better at all?

splishsplosh · 11/02/2008 20:37

I had my scan and everything is fine so far
I saw the heartbeat, going at 121bpm, it's 8.7mm and came from my right ovary. They dated it at 6 weeks +5, with edd October 1, but I know I'm 7+1 - anyway they said it could be changed at the next scan, and was just approximate.
i even have a picture though it looks like a big sace with a small blurry bit one end.
Felt all teary afterwards
So now i feel better at feeling totally well and healthy, but still paranoid, especially as mc happened nearer 11 weeks

Good luck tomorrow prepg

digitalgirl · 11/02/2008 20:45

excitable maybe my inlaws should get together with yours. They too are dull dull dull. In fact we're going to visit them this weekend to tell them the good news. Should liven them up for about oooo two mins. ILs are not the hands on type. I expect there will be complaints as visits become more infrequent the more heavily pg I get.

digitalgirl · 11/02/2008 20:48

xposted splish glad your scan went well. So reassuring isn't it!

Sunshinemummy · 11/02/2008 20:54

Glad to hear your news Splish.

charitygirl · 11/02/2008 21:08

'I only finished maternity leave on 2 Dec and got pg 20 days later so I'm not sure if I'll qualify for having technically been working until last Dec although its been a year now since I last set foot in the office'

Carrieon - I think you wil quality for Maternity Allowance because you have the same status as any other employee during maternity leave ie you were working. It's not like your old employer pays the MA anyway. Definitely ask your midwife!

Hmm, sound like I'm obsessed with your financial entitlements. I used to work for a maternity charity and can get a bit evangelical. Sad

Git my booking in date and scan date today. Not til secind week of March but so excited! And scared! And excited!

splishsplosh · 11/02/2008 21:10

Now the scan's ok, I can book my 8 week appointment with the GP when I'll get my notes, and all that Emma's diary stuff, and send away for free prescriptions etc - maybe it'll seem more real then

purpleflower · 12/02/2008 01:16

Hi all can I join?

I'm due on 29/9/08, I'm 21 and have a DS who is 16 months old. he was due 25/9/06 but didn't come untill the 2/10/06 so it looks like DS might be getting a nice 2nd birthday present!

I'm not feeling to great this time round, not being sick but nausus(sp?) all the time and extremely tired. DP thinks that the tiredness has nothing to do with being pregnant and that I'm lazy. He seems to think that is far too early to have any effects! Think I need to make the appointment with the doctors as that will make it feel real for him.

Any way hope everyone is getting on well.

Gracie14 · 12/02/2008 09:09

Hi all,

splishsplosh - So pleased that things went well

purpleflower - Congrats. Bloody men they wouldn't have a clue, I don't think mine is much better he looks at me as if to say your lying on the settee again!!!! I suppose its hard for them as it proberbly doesn't seem real, until your body starts getting a bump and they want you to carry on as before.

Its funny because when I bought the doppler and got him to listen he said 'there is a baby in there then' No I thought I'd just make it up!!!! Welcome to the thread

Regarding in laws, we haven't mentioned anything yet to them and want to wait until after the scan next Friday, must say I'm quite scared about their reaction - I think DP's dad will be shocked he doesn't particulary like children and DP's mum I think will be pleased I just hope she doesn't get too carried away (which I'm sure she will).

Hope everybody else is well

digitalgirl · 12/02/2008 09:16

congrats purpleflower and also chiswick

Welcome to the thread am glad there are a few more joining who are due end of sep. Can't copy and paste the lust at the mo as I'm mnetting from my phone. But if either of you can find it on an earlier page feel free to add your details.

I am 8 weeks today! Feeling ok, a bit wobbly but not as bad as last week.

hopefully · 12/02/2008 09:18

Morning all!

Was feeling soooo sicky last night. I just about managed to eat dinner, then retired to my bed and refused to move.

On the subject of dopplers, does anyone have any opinion on them? Situation is this: I really want to tell family at almost exactly 12 weeks, as we have a big family reunion, and it would be a nice time to let a lot of people know. However, given that I haven't even managed to get hold of my midwife yet (loooong story) and I'm already 10 weeks, I suspect my 12 week scan won't be until I'm more like 13 weeks. I could pay for another private scan, but does anyone know how cheap/worthwhile a dopppler is as an alternative? It seems mad for the sake of saving a week or two, but I'm sorely tempted if it's not too obscene... Or does anyone know anywhere I can borrow/rent one? I'm in London and west sussex...

Feel mentally and physically ready to take the big step and add myself to the list. Bleeding seems to have settled down (for now) and repeat scan showed a little 8-9 week bean.

Feeling oddly superstitious about putting it down in writing on this list, so fingers crossed I am not jinxing self!

Congratulations to all new additions and good scan results.

Hi there all

Really jealous of all the scans people are having. Mine is a week on friday, so not too long to wait.

I've got the hunger really bad, I'm trying to be disciplined as getting married in april, so would like not to be the size of a whale by then...

Good vibes to all!

MissusH · 12/02/2008 10:43

Hi All - and welcome to the new folk...

Well the nausea has arrived like a steam train Was trawling round Tesco on Saturday when I had to leg it to the loo, just for it to be dry heaves - bleurgh! Since then I have had nausea all bloody day, everyday...

I finish work, do the school run and then flake out on the sofa. I am tring to force food in cos it does make me feel a little better, but cooking is out of the question!

Luckily DH has been very understanding this week, but I'm done for next week when he is back at work...

mamamufin · 12/02/2008 11:45

Morning guys just checking in.

Welcome purpleflower, chiswick and flower

So pleased the scan went well splish. Looking forward to mine whenever it may be.

Thinking of all you ms icky people, I completely understand what your going thru.

Thanks so much for all of the advise and tips you have been sending me. I love the ice pops suggestion- very refreshing. I am trying the lemon Dragonheart (I am lovin smelling them mostly). However, I cant find aniseed balls anywhere. Think I am going to have to try the traditional sweet shop in town when i am brave enough to venture further.
Think I am 9 weeks tommorow- getting there. x

MissusH · 12/02/2008 13:37

My friend reckons the acupressure bands worked for her, so I'm going to give them a try. I have also been constantly eating today. It is yuk but takes the edge of the nausea.

I have also just had the shame of nodding off at my desk I just could not keep my eyes open any longer. I am going to tell my boss next week (he's on his hols this week otherwise I would be in his office right now!) so at least people will know why I am acting so weird!

Dragonhart · 12/02/2008 13:43

mamamuffin- My mum found them in Julian Graves. Woolworths prob have them in the pick and mix? Supermarkets dont which is a pita!

Hello to the newbies. There is so many o f us now!

biglips · 12/02/2008 14:12

dragonheart - yes im complaining about my dh is a stink - hes a window cleaner. my sense of smell is ssooo strong - bleurgh!

well me and dd are full of cold atm so we are off for a nap atm...

oh and ive just found out that my long time close friend is 2 weeks pg ahead of me and its her 1st

meglet · 12/02/2008 14:14

hi,

I am still around and still on the tablets to stop the sickness. Can't seem to sit at the computer for very long as it makes me feel sicky! Saw midwife last week, wonderfully boring, i spent the whole time filling out forms and writing my name on the tubes of blood she took! She didn't notice the bit in my new notes where I said I would be having a planned c-section but as I am being referred to the consultant I guess it will be sorted out then. This time I am having a 12 week scan, no date yet, but it will probably be first week of March. Bit annoyed she didn't remember me fom last time, she was round my house trying to get DS to breastfeed for ages then seemed suprised when I mentioned it.

biglips · 12/02/2008 14:17

meglet - thats weird that the midwife cant remember u! as the probs im having is that i cant remember most of them and they can remember me by my 1st name!!

im toying on the idea of having elkective c-section or vbac as had emergency c-section last time so i dont fancy having another emerg one. how come youre having one?? sorry as ive not been on here properly for a while.

mamamufin · 12/02/2008 14:20

Cheers Dragonhart my hubby is on a mission to find some. Missush, i have the bands on also. Not sure if they are helping but too afraid to take them off in case they are and I dont realise it. I wake in the night unable with pins and needles in my fingers because they are so tight. Fingers crossed they will work for you. I have also downloaded some sort of morning sickness hypnosis onto my ipod. Its worth a try.
Feeling upbeat this afternoon guys. Take care xx

jenpet · 12/02/2008 14:26

Welcome all new people, and wishing all of us suffering still with ms were through this bit! By my calculations I am 12+1 today, and was hoping to be feeling better by now but am going for my 1st scan at 5pm today, which is something (hopefully) to look forward to....

biglips · 12/02/2008 14:31

good luck jenpet

becaroo · 12/02/2008 14:35

Hi all.

Had a really bad few days with the constant nausea and am unable to eat or sleep. My mum took one look at me this morning and has made me an app at the docs for this eveing....have tried everything else....lemon, ginger, accupressure bands, homeopathy remedies and nothing works

Feeling very low today....
