@oceanadventurer sorry to hear about the covid! I had it at 13 weeks and it was like I'd been hit by a bus - bloomin horrible. Still struggling now but I have bad asthma so was dreading catching it because of that anyway! I told the midwife and they thanked me for letting them know but pretty much just said get in contact if I felt I needed them!
@Lid88 sorry to hear you're struggling 😥hope the antibiotics kick in soon!
@BeingHappy oh gosh, that sounds like a horrible experience! I've got the GTT in a few weeks, definitely not looking forward to not being able to eat 😂

Hi all

hope you’re all keeping well? I’m on day 3 of the antibiotics and still feel awful!

This one might be TMI but anyone else’s pelvic floor gone to shit? I mean mine wasn’t perfect after having DD but since being pregnant again it’s awful! I have a bad cough as well as sickness and literally everytime I cough I pee - I’m single handedly keeping Tena lady in business at the moment and it’s really getting me down! I hope it all goes back to normal!

This might be a TMI post so apologies in advance.

I had COVID a couple of weeks back and in the run up to it (strangely enough) and when I had COVID every time I coughed pee just shot out of me 😳 it was annoying because I was drinking so much water and emptying my bladder non stop. But it felt really disheartening. I cried about it at one point because I thought I was on top of my exercises.

That said, I've been COVID free for a couple of weeks now and it seems like I've stopped peeing when I cough.. it's really strange. I wonder if it's something to do with the coughs not being as forceful now.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 14/12/2022 18:55

@BeingHappy Everyone has to do the GTT test here. Despite being only 32 and extremely skinny due to HG in my first pregnancy, I failed the first test and then had to do the 3 hour. Luckily I passed. That drink is revolting. I'm absolutely dreading having to do it again.

Gilm0reGirl · 14/12/2022 19:47

took 6 weeks to get over a virus to only catch another one a week later

decided to try and burn it out with a very spicey takeaway…still not sure if that was a good idea at 22 weeks pregnant 😂

lj2022 · 15/12/2022 13:35

Just wondering if anyone is able to add me into the WhatsApp chat?

Gilm0reGirl · 15/12/2022 14:07

@lj2022 have you sent Pommy a DM? I believe she’s the admin on it as she set it up and she can add you.

lj2022 · 15/12/2022 14:08

@Gilm0reGirl yea sent a DM a few days ago don't think she's been on so was wondering if there was anyone else that's able to add x

Gilm0reGirl · 15/12/2022 14:12

@lj2022 ah I see, yes I sent a DM a while ago but thought it had just been missed, makes more sense that she’s not been on the boards lately. I would say Pommy is likely the only admin on the WhatsApp group but if someone on the boards is part of it and sees maybe they could ask her in the group to have a look when she gets a moment? The board is very quiet I suspect Christmas planning has taken over. X

Skylark1990 · 15/12/2022 14:15

I've let Pommy know!

Skylark1990 · 15/12/2022 14:22

@Pommy1 said she thinks she has messaged everyone who asked!

Gilm0reGirl · 15/12/2022 15:54

Thanks @Skylark1990

I’m not really one for WhatsApp groups right now and now this board is going quiet I hope everyone has a healthy rest of pregnancy and birth etc! X

Lovely ladies, advice or thoughts needed please!

There's a case of Scarlet Fever in my class at school (EYFS), they were off today for first dose of their antibiotics but back in tomorrow when I'm due in. I can't get hold of MWs to ask for advice, NHS info online says best avoid close contact with anyone with anyone who has it, but no evidence that it's harmful to baby. What counts as close contact?!

Should I go in? Or not? WWYD? For the sake of 1 day?

www.nhs.uk/conditions/scarlet-fever/#:~:text=Pregnancy%20advice,GP%20if%20you%20get%20symptoms.
Pregnancy advice
There's no evidence to suggest that getting scarlet fever during pregnancy will harm your baby.

But it can make you feel unwell, so it's best to avoid close contact with anyone who has it.

Skylark1990 · 15/12/2022 16:54

@Gilm0reGirl oh that's a shame! There's no pressure to contribute regularly, and you can always mute it and contribute more later on - it's actually a really nice forum and easier to keep track of everyone and everything on WhatsApp- but totally understand if you'd rather not join it. Hopefully this thread doesn't go too quiet! Best of luck to you too (but hopefully this isn't goodbye!)

@Margo34 I would not go in!

Lid88 · 15/12/2022 17:18

@Margo34 i wouldn’t go in either. To be honest just catching anything right now is such a pain - I’ve been ill now for at least 6+ weeks with a cough I can’t shift and sinus pain, just when I think I’m starting to shift it I pick something else up (probs from DDs nursery!) I am praying time off from nursery and work over Christmas gives me a chance to shift it once and for all. Feeling very sorry for myself today! X

Margo34 · 15/12/2022 20:08

@Skylark1990 @Lid88 I'm so torn, got massive teacher guilt for not being able to make it in earlier this week with the snow dump and living too far from school to walk, and they've had a disrupted week with the other teacher (job share) being off following an accident too 🙈 argghhh!

Hope you feel better soon @Lid88

@Gilm0reGirl I'm not one for WhatsApp either...yet, maybe later, maybe not, so I'll still be using the thread here.

Marshmallowmountain · 15/12/2022 20:32

Who do I need to ask to be added to the WhatsApp group? 😃

Missgemini · 15/12/2022 21:03

Ooo we really have gone quiet. I hope everyone is doing well.
Another one not joining the WhatsApp group. Really prefer the anonymity of Mumsnet.
Don’t forget to let us know when you’ve had your babies ladies xx

alwaysseeingstars · 16/12/2022 15:04

@Margo34 what did you decide in the end? 😊
@Lid88 hope you start feeling better soon, it really does get you down when things go on for a long time 😔

How is everyone finding the movements now we're a bit further on? I'm 23+5 and now getting movements every day since approx 10 days ago, but definitely not in a regular 'pattern' - she has active days followed by a day or two of a lot less!

MamaMenna · 16/12/2022 20:39

Sorry people feeling poorly and can't seem to shift it, hope the up coming break sorts it all out.
@Margo34 that's really bad luck with the scarlet fever, what did you decide to do in the end? I really don't know what I would have done. Fingers crossed you don't go down with it.

I did join the WhatsApp group, but totally understand those who aren't comfortable to, so will keep checking in here to see how you're getting on x

MamaMenna · 16/12/2022 20:41

Oh and at 20 weeks I am now feeling movement daily, but I haven't spotted a pattern beyond I usually feel something in the evenings, it's still very sporadic. Anterior placenta though, anything I'm feeling is low down

BeingHappy · 16/12/2022 21:02

I'm finally feeling movement in a bit more of a stronger way. I'm 24+5 right now. At 22 weeks I wasn't sure if the flutters were movements, but it's now definitely baby moving. And as exciting as it is, it's a tiny bit uncomfortable feeling! No discernable pattern here either!

Missgemini · 16/12/2022 21:36

Also feeling movements everyday now. It is so lovely. My toddler will sometimes coincidentally kiss my tummy at the same time! <3

Margo34 · 16/12/2022 22:09

@MamaMenna @alwaysseeingstars I decided to go in, in the end. I took the NHS guidance as - it won't harm baby but it won't be ideal to get ill, and figured no illness is ever ideal so 🤷 oh well. My hands are red raw from washing so many times though, get off me germs!

Margo34 · 16/12/2022 22:12

I've been feeling lots of movement too 🥰 my toddler has felt it too (unintentionally) but DH hasn't yet! 🤭

MamaMenna · 19/12/2022 21:36

Dh felt movement for first time tonight 😊
