My GGT has not been arranged yet. The midwife mentioned we will discuss/book it at my 28-week check-up.

25+3 today and my pram arrived 😊 all seems to be getting real. Does anyone experience days when the baby is really active and kicking hard and other days where the baby seems to be positioned at the back and the kicks don't feel as strong? I had a pregnancy massage yesterday and the calming music had the opposite effect on my baby - he/she was dancing away, quite strongly 😂

Margo34 · 29/12/2022 19:18

@oceanadventurer days when I'm busy and moving a lot myself - baby kicks seem less active. Days where I sit still for too long - when baby moves the most. Almost like my movement rocks baby yo sleep then when I stop moving, baby wakes up and says through many kicks, 'hey mum, rock me again!' 🤭

oceanadventurer · 29/12/2022 19:24

@Margo34 just as I read "baby wakes up and says through a kick 'Hey Mum, rock me again' " - my baby kicked 😂😂 I have not long sat down on the sofa after a busy day - also my back is sore today!

Marshmallowmountain · 30/12/2022 09:47

Hey all just looking for a bit of advice/reassurance! I’m 23 weeks and concerned because my bump doesn’t seem to be growing much at all, and I am barely feeling any movement. I maybe feel a few twinges once or twice a day but I’m not even confident it’s the baby tbh it could just be muscle cramps or something. Is anyone else feeling the same? I can’t get a private scan until the 7th 😔

ThePuddingBear · 30/12/2022 10:07

Morning all 😊 Lost the thread a while ago and forgot all about it with Christmas.

Scan went well, baby is another girl 👧 😊

I am 23 weeks now and this morning had brown discharge for the first time. Not a lot of it, but I’m a little worried.

Is it normal or something to be concerned about? It did happen after an orgasm but no recent penetration. Any advice?

alwaysseeingstars · 30/12/2022 13:18

@Marshmallowmountain it does seem to be pretty common that people don't feel masses at that stage - I'm 25+5 and only in the past two weeks would I say I've been able to confidently differentiate between other movements and baby movements! If you're concerned though can you speak to your midwife?
@ThePuddingBear congrats, have you told your DD yet that she'll have a sister?! Again it's probably not something to worry about but personally I'd phone the midwife just as a precaution..

Missgemini · 30/12/2022 16:53

@Marshmallowmountain is this your first baby? I didn’t feel much until 24/25 weeks with baby 1. If worried, can you discuss with your midwife as mentioned above? If they’re concerned they would bring you in for a trace or a scan. But I wouldn’t worry at 23 weeks at all.

@ThePuddingBear one off brown discharge isn’t usually anything to worry about. I had it after sex earlier on in my pregnancy. Fresh blood and cramping was what I was told to worry about more.

@Marshmallowmountain im 23+2 and im not feeling things, every now and again i feel a ‘pop’ and think it could be baby but then it doesn’t happen for ages and doubt it is the baby! I haven’t felt anything at all for the last two days 🤦🏼‍♀️
I was in MAU last week due to pains turns out I have SPD but the midwife asked about movement and wasn’t worried when i said that id not felt baby, she said if by 24 weeks ive had no certain movement to ring them back 🙂
Its reassuring that other people haven’t felt movement until 25ish weeks! X

ThePuddingBear · 30/12/2022 18:13

@alwaysseeingstars Thank you! I have but I’m not sure she understands yet 😅 She’s only just turned 2 (at Christmas!) but I think as the bump grows she’ll understand more.

I am still getting brown discharge in my knickers now and it’s several hours later but again there isn’t a lot of it. I have texted my midwife but no reply yet.

I had preeclampsia in my last pregnancy so I’m panicking about multiple hospital visits and stays again and being away from my daughter and husband etc. I’m hopefully catastrophising because of last time.

@Missgemini Thank you 😊No fresh blood and I have felt baby kick thankfully. I might have had a little cramping but I don’t know if that’s just because I need the loo 😅

Balloffluff123 · 30/12/2022 20:49

Also looking for some advice and reassurance if possible! Was carrying a washing basket and walked into a door handle (the up and down kind not a door knob) 🙄. Sound silly but it REALLY hurt! Small red mark after but nothing else. It didn’t even hit my bump - sort the front of my hip near where the bump starts . I asked my partner if I should call the midwife but he thought this was OTT. Would you guys agree?

Marshmallowmountain · 30/12/2022 21:29

Thanks all, that’s really reassuring to hear. Yes it’s first baby so tbh I’m not sure what I’m really looking out for in terms of movement. Hopefully it’ll become more obvious in the next week or so

Marshmallowmountain · 30/12/2022 23:26

@Balloffluff123 i think you’re probably fine, I’d wait and see how I felt in the morning and if any lasting pain or any cramping etc started then I’d call the hospital. Hopefully all okay though

Missgemini · 31/12/2022 07:49

@Balloffluff123 i wouldn’t worry about that at all. I have a toddler that is ridiculously active. He’s jumped on and hit my bump on multiple occasions. Baby has a really good cushion in there. It takes a lot to cause damage.
If you develop pain/bleeding, then definitely call the midwife x

ThePuddingBear · 31/12/2022 07:57

@Balloffluff123 I’m sure baby will be fine! I also have a toddler constantly climbing all over me and baby is well protected in there as there’s lots of layers 😊

ThePuddingBear · 31/12/2022 15:39

Currently being seen in day assessment as brown spotting continued today and toddler jumped on my bump. Had a bit of fresh blood too.

They’ve checked baby’s heartbeat and all is well and I can feel baby move but they’re just waiting for the doctor to come and do an exam.

They said sometimes they have no reason for bleeding past 19 weeks so fingers crossed all is okay.

Balloffluff123 · 31/12/2022 16:25

Thank you everyone for your reassurance! It did make me feel much better. I’m just so worried about making the right decision but don’t want to be OTT! Baby has had some nice wiggles today which is reassuring.

@ThePuddingBear Hope all is ok and that you get home soon! x

ThePuddingBear · 31/12/2022 17:59

@Balloffluff123 Thank you 😊

Back home now. Doctor did an internal exam and it turns out I have a cervical erosion that’s causing the bleeding.

They said it will probably keep happening now I have it so will probably need to go in again but it should be harmless 🤞

Margo34 · 31/12/2022 19:11

@ThePuddingBear I'm glad everything is ok and that you know a cause for it now! Hopefully it won't happen again or if it does that it's infrequent!

Margo34 · 31/12/2022 19:14

We had our first Christmas present casualty today - toddler got a little snowglobe from MIL and my DH accidentally smashed it on the kitchen floor today. Eek!

Happy New Year ladies, I wonder if many of us will manage to stay awake for midnight!! ✨🎇🎆✨

Skylark1990 · 31/12/2022 19:27

Happy new year everyone! How exciting we are entering the year our babies will be born.

@Margo34 definitely not planning to be awake at midnight 😂💖

Missgemini · 31/12/2022 20:28
