Hey all, thanks so much for your lovely kind messages, really means a lot 🥲 ❤️

@Peachesthecat thank you so much for sharing your experience. That is reassuring. I really hope this is the case for us. It's so worrying isn't it, just not nice to be told there is a problem no matter how potentially small. I'm so glad everything cleared up for your DD. Interesting she is a girl too as I've heard this condition is much more common in boys! We are having a surprise, but I'm now convinced the baby is a boy!

I'm going into the office today. Still feeling quite teary so just hoping I make it through the day without crying loads. But I am so grateful everything else looked good and just hope next week gives reassurance. Xxx

lj2022 · 22/11/2022 09:16

Morning everyone. My pelvic and abdomen pain are becoming unbearable right now. I can't walk around for long or I end up in agony for days. Feel so fed up as it's been like this since 13 weeks and just getting worse and we're only half way. Got physio tomorrow for the first time but I just feel not being able to take anything than paracetamol sucks too because it doesn't even touch the sides with how sore I am 😩

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 09:27

Morning all. DD has woken up with a temperature and sore throat so have just dropped her round MILS so we can go to the appointment. What is it with these kids 🙈 fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Hope your day goes ok in the office @Skylark1990 💗💗

@lj2022 that sounds so tough :( I've had mine for a similarly long time so appreciate how frustrating it is. I need to look into a private physio I think because my NHS referral is taking so long 🫤

@Cuppasoupmonster

BeingHappy · 22/11/2022 09:41

Sorry I somehow ended up posting before even finishing typing.

You've got this @Cuppasoupmonster 💪hope your DD feels better soon! And all the best with your appointment!

LauraA31 · 22/11/2022 10:04

@Skylark1990 thinking of you and hoping that your day in the office goes okay! ♥️

@Cuppasoupmonster good luck with your appointment! X

So ladies, coming for some advice! Me and the sister have booked to see N-Dubz in the coming weeks, we booked months ago before i was pregnant and i haven’t given it a second thought- however one of my friends is pregnant and recently said she would never go to a concert because of the loud music as she has heard it can harm the baby…. now i feel daft for not thinking about it!
If i have to miss it’s not the end of the world but we were going for a bit of a laugh and light hearted fun after a stressful year, we are seated too.. is it ok to go? or should i be more cautious? I will be between 18 weeks and 19 weeks when we go.

Also, has anybody hit a stage where they no longer feel pregnant? I’m 17+4 and suddenly dont feel pregnant. I don’t look pregnant, don’t have any symptoms anymore and haven’t felt her (which I know is normal). The way i feel right now if it wasn’t for the scans we have had before and the baby bits we have bought id forget i was pregnant!
I think it’s made me more worried for my 20 week scan on 7th December.. I never thought id miss my sore boobs but i do 😂😂

Margo34 · 22/11/2022 10:30

@Skylark1990 I hope working today helps take your mind off things, so hard to hear any sort news that isn't what you're expecting or hoping for! It sounds like your maternity services team are on it though with follow up scan and consultant appointments. Big virtual hug in the meantime and hopefully it will resolve before birth like Peaches did 🤞

Margo34 · 22/11/2022 10:39

I've got my 20w scan next week and the anxiety is rocketing again for me 😔 In my diary notes from my pregnancy with DC1 I recorded that baby was moving loads and even my DH felt baby move for the first time in this equivalent week too, but I'm hardly feeling baby move at all. I know it can be totally normal not to feel baby much yet but I also feel like it's not MY normal going by last time, although I know every pregnancy and baby is different it's so hard to adjust my expectations. I certainly feel and look pregnant though so I'm taking hope from that.

Anyone found any decent and flattering maternity clothes? I bought a load from NewLook and the quality was shocking so the whole lot is going back. I bought a couple of jumpers from Jojomaman, my one from last time is a Small and slightly too small now so I upsized to Medium this time and they're huge and so unflattering as a result so they're also going back! I just want something to wear. 😭

ancienthouse · 22/11/2022 11:33

@Skylark1990 I hope your day in the office is OK today ❤

@LauraA31 a concert will be totally fine! As long as you're not getting squished in the standing section. I went to loads in my last pregnancy, some very loud, and I just switched my standing tickets to seats and it was fine. Baby loved it! I felt his first kicks while I was at a gig.

MamaMenna · 22/11/2022 12:18

@Skylark1990 sorry to hear they picked something up at your scan, even though sounds likely all will be fine never what you want to hear, fingers crossed all is OK in a week's time.
@Margo34 I'm enjoying the joggers and jeans I got from h&m and also a really great pair of bras from there too. Also got a 3/4 length sleeve tee that's very useful. A nice dress would be great though.
I'm also not feeling any movement yet and 17 + 1. I think I was feeling baby by this point last time. There are a few ppl in the Facebook group saying the same, felt movement by this time last pregnancy but not yet this time. Maybe it's quite normal.
@LauraA31 I also think a gig will be fine, imagine if you were there but underwater, it would be so muffled.
Good luck @Cuppasoupmonster with your scan.

lj2022 · 22/11/2022 12:22

@BeingHappy omg I'm so sorry your NHS is taking so long. I must be extremely lucky I called up on Friday and got an appointment for Wednesday with my maternity physio department. Does your work provide physio ? I know some places have health benefits and that was my back up if I was waiting ages on NHS. Hope you hear something soon. Maybe try phone and chase them up and explain how you're struggling. So annoying as pregnancy physio isn't something that should have long waiting lists as pregnancy is only 40 weeks so quick turnovers for everyone surely

lj2022 · 22/11/2022 12:30

@Skylark1990 so sorry to hear about your scan. Really keeping everything crossed for your follow up ❤️

ancienthouse · 22/11/2022 12:38

@LauraA31 just to reassure you some more, it seems like noise of over 115dB isn't recommended by some people in pregnancy, but only over long periods of time. Eg someone who works with a chainsaw all day. A concert is usually around 100 - 120 dB but it's only a few hours. You could go nearer the back away from loudspeakers if you're really worried but I can't see any evidence that it would be harmful. I think it would have to pose a danger to your own ears before it could hurt the baby's which are surrounded by lots of fluid.

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 12:44

Hi ladies. Mixed bag from us. Scan looked healthy, but we were very shocked to be told it’s a boy! They even got someone else in to check who confirmed definitely boy. They phoned our NIPT clinic and they’re getting in touch with the lab to see what has happened, but I think I’m in a bit of shock - I had got used to the idea of 2 girls in my head and now feel like my ‘daughter’ has disappeared which I know is ridiculous. They also said there’s some very rare conditions where the sex of the DNA and genitals don’t match which has scared me and they’re investigating that too. So… baby looks to be healthy which is great but there’s this big question mark and dark cloud over it all at the moment.

OP posts:
AliceinSlumberland · 22/11/2022 12:55

@Cuppasoupmonster just literally read your other thread but didn’t realise it was you. Bloody hell I hadn’t even contemplated the NIPT was wrong and I’d feel exactly the same as you in your situation. I didn’t really have a preference but I’ve got attached to my boy now and I’d feel like I was pregnant with a stranger if it suddenly changed. Having said that I know the worry of another issue must be a big worry but at the same time the NIPT isn’t 100% so it must happen that they get it wrong? Do you know when you might hear anything about next steps? I know a little bit about intersex children and to be honest I think if there was an issue with him having female dna and then male genitalia you’d think he be much less obviously a boy if that makes sense at this stage?

Re Mat clothes - I had this naive illusion that I’d avoid buying much and just get through but it’s just too miserable having nothing to wear. What I am loving though is wearing leggings and a black top and then a cropped jumper or cardigan - it looks cute, that jumper/cardie doesn’t need to be maternity and yoj look clearly pregnant rather than just like you’ve eaten too much haha. I’ve also done an order from shein but I’m not optimistic lol. I tried just buying some bigger sizes from charity shops but it just didn’t fit anywhere else and looked really scruffy. I’ve had a couple of bits from Vinted too.

AliceinSlumberland · 22/11/2022 12:56

I’m feeling very very little movement, I think I’ve had the odd bit but it’s been like a second and gone before you can even pay attention to it if that makes any sense. I’m 19 weeks with placenta at the front.

Longbin · 22/11/2022 13:18

@Cuppasoupmonster hope you get some answers about the sex soon and how/if the NIPT was wrong. I think I read before it was 99.9% accurate so it could be that you were just that 0.1%? Is there any chance you had it outside of the window they recommend without realising? You move probably thought of all of this

ancienthouse · 22/11/2022 13:55

@Cuppasoupmonster oh gosh that must have been a huge shock! I wonder if the NIPT only picked up your DNA for some reason, or they got your results muddled with someone else. I've worked in labs with DNA before and while the technique is totally accurate, there is room for human error.

I hope it's just a mix up and not the rare condition they mentioned. And that you can get your head around having a little boy now. It might take a while, even though sex doesn't matter, you have an idea of someone and if that changes it can really throw you.

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 14:01

Really shocked, DH currently making me a sugary cup of tea 😂 I couldn’t care less about the sex, so if they can confirm healthy baby boy I will be over the moon. It’s just the intersex thing playing on my mind and worried they will suggest amnio 😭 there are a handful of cases where it has been wrong online but the clinic said they’ve only had 1 wrong case and that was years ago.

OP posts:
Longbin · 22/11/2022 14:19

@Cuppasoupmonster I completely understand, also it's the suddenly change that would throw you, and then the uncertainty. Can they test post birth rather than amino? I guess it's such recent news it's probably just a case of waiting to see what options they give you?

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 14:31

I just want to know where the error was so I can put the whole intersex thing to bed 🙄 I know it’s much more likely to be human error in scan or NIPT, but I think I’ll be a bit on edge until they tell me that.

OP posts:
ancienthouse · 22/11/2022 14:38

@Cuppasoupmonster I feel like if it was intersex, they wouldn't have been so sure it was a boy from the scan. As one of the main signs of being intersex is ambiguous genitalia.

I hope you hear back from them or your NIPT clinic soon so you can put your mind at rest.

Chocolat · 22/11/2022 14:39

@Cuppasoupmonster that is really buzzard, would your NIPT clinic consider a repeat test?

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 14:41

Thanks all. Ultrasound Direct have gone mad chasing the lab, I’m guessing we’ve messed up their perfect score 😂 so will hear back today hopefully about what they want to do.

OP posts:
Cuppasoupmonster · 22/11/2022 16:13

The clinic have invited me back for a redraw and detailed scan tomorrow evening so will see what happens I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️
