so scampmum please stay, I need EVERY advice and drop of conversation you ladies provide!

Good morning

nursery have messed up again. Thursdays is normally my uni day, and i have the kids booked in till 6pm. now my hours have changed at uni i only need 8am - 3.30pm. i said to manager today that i ony need until 3.30pm from now on on a thursday, she said oh but i only have ds2 booked in until 11.30am.

err, i have never changed my tuesdays or thursdays..... so later i am going to write them out a list of what i need and when until the baby is born so they know and i know iyswim?

when Millie is here im having a day for just me and her on tuesdays, kev will pick the boys up after work. tuesdays is baby club day and baby weighing clinic day so will have a chance to meet new mums etc. and jamie will have pre-school hours too, so will have plenty of rest etc. its the htought of the summer hols that is getting me....his dad wont have him for any decent amount of time anyway...last summer he took a week off and never asked to see Reilly once wanker.

i'm off to the chinese tonight, for tons of food [yum[

TheMaskedPoster · 07/02/2008 09:48

Peachy - thanks for the link (way back down the thread!)... am going to order one I think.

Peachy · 07/02/2008 10:26

Ah go on remind me- what link LOL? (brain not working today! )

Shaterd today- had contractions all night, don't know if from the iron pills or what. But as we don't book Cm for today i ahev to care for ds3 alld ay so anap off the cards- damn!

I'll be relieved when this is over now, starting to really struggle in the mornings etc.

TheMaskedPoster · 07/02/2008 10:32

this sling link

Hope all is well Peachy - take it easy x

Peachy · 07/02/2008 10:34

Ah yes- hoped it was that, its so soft. If you look in seqrch someone else started a thread on close slings, and there's a demo on there of how to use as a cradle sling as well (Although a DVD on instructions comes with the sling as well).

TheMaskedPoster · 07/02/2008 10:39

oo - yes, will have a quick look for that, thanks. Don't get much time to MN as of late (not fair) - I seem to have LOADS of washing, ironing, cleaning and planning on my cards at the moment (so unlike me ). Must be the 'nesting' stage kicking in.

Sheds75 · 07/02/2008 10:46

morning

anyone else just feeling Blah..... just don't want to be at work anymore and feeling very big and tired. I'm srue it will pass, sorry to moan

velbels · 07/02/2008 11:04

oh i just ordered that sling too

Sorry you're feeling blah Sheds, hang in there. I really admire you still working, not long to go now.

VictorianSqualor · 07/02/2008 11:34

Ugh Scorpio, I had that a few times with ds's nursery when I was working, I had to send him an hour earlier on fridays as XDP's mum wouldnt have him but they seemed to think the otehr days had changed

SuzeM · 07/02/2008 11:47

Northeastmummy, hope you get to go away.

Scampmum, don't go!

Sheds, I know how you feel, I would really like to stop working soon but have a contract until the end of March and haven't saved enough for my tax bill so I have no choice really.

My friend has just told me that she has not used her v. expensive Bugaboo at all yet for her 5 week old, just the sling, so that has killed my lemming once and for all!

I bought a pair of shoes last night because I was desperate for some retail therapy. The guy in the shop asked me about 20 questions, when was I due, is it a girl or boy, am I happy that she is a girl (wtf!), what's her name, am I going back to work ... I was backing out of the shop to get away!

scorpio1 · 07/02/2008 11:55

Suze - people always assume i have forever wanted a girl because i have 2 boys already or if they dont know that she is a girl they say ooh bet you're wishing for a girl. ummmm, no, just a baby thanks!

VS - they have been pissing me off this last week.

Is no-one jealous of my chinese tonight???

Get some rest peachy you have alot on your plate

Sheds75 · 07/02/2008 11:58

been sorting out my shopping trip with Mum in an attempt to cheer myself up and have jsut come across the new baby lines in Matalan "here www.matalan.co.uk/pages/news/features/nursery-collection" they really are quite cute, may add Matalan to my list of shops for our outing

scorpio1 · 07/02/2008 12:00

whats for lunch?

Me: Houmous and roast veg sarnie from deli, white choc and raspberry flapjack from deli, and fruit salad.

velbels · 07/02/2008 12:03

not sure soup or lasagna, can't decide.

Yum to your lunch Scorpio!

northeastmummy · 07/02/2008 12:17

Double yum Scorpio - that sounds great! I might have to try and make some white choc and raspberry flapjack sometime. I don't think I've seen it anywhere and it sounds amazing!

I'm also jealous of your chinese tonight. I have some boring fish pie for dinner .

So far, DD's chicken pox haven't come to much. She only has 3 really bad spots and she's in SUCH a good mood. I'm keeping everything crossed!!

northeastmummy · 07/02/2008 12:18

Oh - and I had chicken salad for lunch ... but I have a creme egg waiting in the wings .

sagitta · 07/02/2008 12:18

Ooh, have lasagna Velbels

We have just had our heating diesel delivered great because now we can have the heating back on but because the bloody tank is leaking. I have to go down a tiny step ladder to get to the tank and change a bucket underneath it every few minutes, and I am now covered in diesel and it stinks, and its all over the floor. Aaaahhhh

VictorianSqualor · 07/02/2008 12:27

Scorpio, I normally would be incredibly jealous, but it's something I have really gone off this pregnancy.

As for 'betcha want a girl etc' I get asked at least once a day if I know what it is, and as soon as I say no they say 'Oh, it doesnt matter though does it as you have one of each'. I'm tempted to say 'Actually, if it's a boy it will be a lot easier because it will share DS's room, otherwise we'll have to move, again to a bigger house, and tbh I think boys are much easier, but I also keep seeing gorgeous little girls everywhere and would really love another, boys clothes just don't do it for me' and keep rambling for ages about all the different reasons I have for wanting each gender

scorpio1 · 07/02/2008 12:29

See when people discovered i was pg they used to say ohh betcha wanna girl and i used to say no i want a matching set

they could hand down clothes, toys etc
i am used to boys
i had a boys name ready from 6 weeks
etc etc

Either way, VS, we are going to have a baby!!

VictorianSqualor · 07/02/2008 12:34

Ha, I bloody hope so, I'll be a bit worried if it's a kitten

I also get the 'what do the kids want then?' and I think it's pretty obvious a 7yr old girl will want a girl and a 3yr old boy want a boy, but tbh, theyre kids, they don't really understand it that much, yes mummy is having a baby and it's coming to live with us, but they dont know what impact it's going to have either way!

scorpio1 · 07/02/2008 12:36

and something else people keep asking me - ooh do the children know they are having a baby?

err, no, they think its pies.

some people are so silly...of course they bloody know!!

VictorianSqualor · 07/02/2008 12:39

And 'what do they think about it?'

Erm, nothing really, theyre kids and I've been pregnant for 31 weeks, to them it's like five years, they've kind of got used to idea.
