Hello all.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi all. Hope you are all well. Pleased to report that hitting the piles face on with anusol in all its forms has worked a treat + hot bath. All pain in the arse has subsided!

PQ I highly recommend an intern stitching up as opposed to a consultant- thats all they practice for years as a junior, whereas consultants don't often do it.

I have got until 22nd Feb to work so would like a meet up that weekend if poss. Can't make the 16th as am up near Manchester for my nieces christening.

I definately agree with Derah on the top and tail bowl front. No need! Any container will do and I did the same, used the cloth on eyes first then did bum.

I am feeling very honoured to have good mw after hearing of your horrible experiences. Mine phoned last week as she said she hadn't seen me for ages, was I ok and when will I book an appt. I only saw her just before Xmas!

Got a lovely (totally unnecessary!) moses basket off ebay which I collected today and on a panic whim bought some newborn sleepsuits from Tesco.

Had a comedy moment when minded dc asked where the basket will go...I answered in my bedroom.... she says why?.... to make feeding the baby easier.... discussion on bf with 4yo? Wanted to know all the ins and out and was completely amazed when I said baby gets milk from the mummys 'busters'!

tori32 · 23/01/2008 20:13

Oh skidoodle forgot to say my first stage to 3/4cm took 26hrs then another 7hrs to 9cm then c-section- baby back to back and not engaged properly, only 3/5s.

Planned for a vaginal delivery this time and am using optimum fetal positioning technique!

modsaluk · 23/01/2008 20:17

Thank you all for your advice on the protein in wee, not as worried as i was earlier, dont think the women at work helped though, they were all full of bad news stories about it. My blood pressure was ok today and the consultant did not seem that bothered by it, just want me to visit my GP and have blood pressure checked weekly but thats it.

It was my last day at work today thought i would have been a wreck but never even cried, glad to be off work now though feel i need a rest, i do have a DS who is two so will nto be full of rest but will have a couple of days to myself which will be lovely, after the first week though i will probably be so bored lol.

fitnforty · 23/01/2008 20:30

hands up who's having problems putting food in their mouths without spilling anything? I have terrible food 'n' mouth disease!

feedmenow · 23/01/2008 20:58

I'm going to have to start taking notes to keep up with this thread!

FnF, all my tops are getting stained cos I keep "spilling" things! Does pg screw up hand/eye co-ordination as well as everything else?

Talking of BH, I think I am having one right now! I don't recall them at all with first pg, possibly had them with 2nd. Am getting them all the time with this one. My whole belly just feels tight. Sometimes more uncomfy under ribs, but mostly just tightness. And they only seem to last maybe a minute or so. And it's gone by the time I've typed this paragraph!

Tori, I am hoping for a vba2c this time and am also doing all I can for OFP!

I can't believe so many of you are off on mat leave so soon! I am due 18th-22nd March and plan to work til 29th Feb!

papaya · 23/01/2008 21:11

modasluk i had protein in my wee a couple times when preg with DD, the next time they tested it a week later it was fine again, they are keeping an eye on you and thats the main thing so try not to let it worry you

MissingMyHeels · 23/01/2008 21:12

Doesn't feel too soon for me to start mat leave - I'm only gonna have two weeks to sort everything!!

e14mum · 23/01/2008 21:40

I'd put my hand up but I'd drop the food in it!
(Along similar lines, I also can't do dishes anymore without covering the floor with water)

spugs · 23/01/2008 22:00

mmm just had 2 crunchies, packet of jelli tots and half a tub of ben and jerrys

only fabrics have arrived, delivery company have lost my bloody pushchair - grrrrr

Glammama · 23/01/2008 22:39

Gosh, don't look for a few days and I spend 30 mins reading all your posts.
Merryberry Happybirthday to you!!!
Welcome to MrsH and Adelaide Jo. I had my DD at the hOmerton but it was in 2000 so it won't be relevant now. I remember having to send exDH home for a pillow as they didn't have one for me. And Claire Rayner was downstairs opening up the new Atrium I'm sure they'll have enough bedding now though. I'm quite near Hackney so would be happy to meet up for coffee sometime.
It was great to meet up again. Doup, Can't remember those dates but I'm around all the time so I'll have a look back...
Marchmum sorry to hear about your fall/hospitalisation, hope you're doing ok now.

Had some news today at my check up. It had been feeling quite painful at times with what felt like LO stamping on my bladder. Turns out he has been doing just that and is very comfortable sitting up, thank you very much. He may not be able to turn due to placenta in the way as it has been major low all the way through. I have another scan in 2 weeks and Dr will make a decision on 6th Feb as to whether I'll need a section. It occurred to me tonight though that if I did go into labour any time soon I'd more than likely have an emergency section. Please stay in there, baby.
To be on the safe side, I'm still drinking my rasperry leaf tea as last time I pushed DD out in 2 pushes after drinking gallons of the stuff. Now, if there was a tea that helped me dilate in less than 30 hours.........

Hello to everyone else x

fitnforty · 23/01/2008 23:14

spugs - you stopped after only 1/2 tub B&J? Are you insane?

Happy birthday Merry!!

HolidaysQueen · 24/01/2008 09:52

Sadly I won't be able to make a meet-up on either 16th or 23rd as I have my NCT classes those mornings and imagine I'll be spending the afternoon dealing with a traumatised DH... He's being very ostrich-like about the birth at the moment

Happy birthday merry

preggersagain · 24/01/2008 10:01

oooh do you lot have cake?? hand it over I'm knackered and VERY hungry- breastfeeding has its perks i can eat as much as i like and no-one can comment

imjin100 · 24/01/2008 10:06

pouring with rain, lost brollie, will arrive looking mess - pregnant so think I can get away with it!

MumOfBillyTheKid · 24/01/2008 10:54

Happy Birthday merry - have just had a slice of lovely quiche to celebrate!

Managed (for once) not to spill it down me, but like others, am having food/mouth co-ordination issues!

JFly · 24/01/2008 11:01

Has anyone else opened their fridge to find something with an expiry date of after their dute date?

doup76 · 24/01/2008 11:18

Don't have any cake, but am eating a cadbury's dairy milk in your honour (of course!) Happy Birthday!

timmyinatizzy · 24/01/2008 11:42

Hello. Not been on much at all in the last week. Been busy with work. Have now done my last out of office visit (I'm an auditor) and I'm not looking forward to spending the next two and a bit weeks stuck in the office. I like to out and about. Can't believe how time has flown. After today I have 11 and half days left at work. Yay

I have finished all my ante-natal classes now. I was very disappointed with the turn out for each class. We had I think 5 of us ladies the first week, 3 the second week (and 1 of those was there on the first week) and then just 2 for the final week. The midwife running it was flummoxed at the reason why, as there were 15 of us booked on the course. Anyway I got loads out of it as we could ask any questions we wanted.

Hey Merry Happy Birthday to you. I bet that was a lovely surprise when your DS sang Happy Birthday to you. One of those moments that you'll cherish forever.

Brazilianmum · 24/01/2008 11:47

Happy birthday Merry. Have eaten a pain au chocolate to celebrate. Still have two croissants to get through (it's all Sainsbury's fault with 3 pastries for £1 offer).
