Hello all.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Glammama · 10/01/2008 08:34

Morning Mb! This was a good idea of yours. I toyed with setting up a new one but couldn't think of a suitable name.

derah · 10/01/2008 09:01

Morning ladies!

Still a bit windy and crampy but at least the worst of it seems to be over. Last night's pain must have been trapped wind cos I'm back to the usual "cramp and toot" now.

Bet you all needed to know that, especially first thing in the morning!!

Ain't pregnancy fun?!?!

spugs · 10/01/2008 09:18

hi everyone, derah glad to hear your feeling better . way tmi here but if i do a particularly loud fart the baby can obviously hear it and jumps cracks me up everytime.

fitnforty · 10/01/2008 09:36

hah, it's the baby making you fart in the first place, all that jiggling round and rummaging in your insides, no wonder something has to give!

Morning all, having a day off today....took the pooch out for a walk for the first time in a month (he hasn't been waiting that long, his dad normally takes him!) and now can't move as my pelvic muscles have slipped somewhere. After crawling upstairs to finish getting ready for work, then having to wince my way down again to get my bag i decided it wasn't worth the agony. Just have to be available by phone in case the auditors need to get hold of me.

Plenty of surfing time instead though, and maybe catch up on a few dvds and My fake Baby on the C4 website

preggersagain · 10/01/2008 09:55

i feel like a fraud still posting on an ante-natal thread- but hey i have no intentions of joining the dec post-natal thread and don't really fancy chatting to myself so you lot are stuck with me for now

girls are fine, doing really well, i'm off to see them in a bit- just got to sort out some clothes to take up there as it was all getting a bit chaotic last night so we cleared all their stuff up and brought it home to have a sort out- they've already grown out of their first hats but we're going to frame them.

Glammama · 10/01/2008 10:02

Fitnforty, hope your pelvis feels better soon, ouch
Derah, better out than in.....
Preggers, those hats!!!!! Please post a photo when you've framed them. Haven't cried enough since seeing blind orphaned baby elephants on bbc1 last night.

Anyone know if Marchmum's on holiday? Don't recall hearing from her recently or is just me not seeing her posts? Hope she's ok.

HolidaysQueen · 10/01/2008 10:04

Well last night undid all the good work of the yoga class - slept terribly with really weird dreams, and now feel ropey. Sigh. I am so so glad that I don't have to work tomorrow and instead get to go and cuddle my friend's newborn baby instead!

Apart from that, I do enjoy being pregnant. Is there anyone else out there like me? I was reading the "I hate being pregnant" thread last night and it made me feel a bit depressed, and also a bit like I'm the odd one out. I do have aches and pains quite often (horrendous pain in my ribcage all last Friday evening for example) but overall I think I'm doing quite well - not too tired, bump not too big (despite having already acquired two stretch marks ), and no hugely unbearable symptoms. And I enjoy feeling the baby move around even if it is uncomfortable sometimes. Plus I feel like my body is actually alright at this pregnancy thing, and is doing what it was made to do, so that makes me feel good. So I'm actually enjoying being pregnant overall even if some days, like today, it's a bit rubbish! Hope I'm not the only one!

Of course, by opening my mouth, I have probably now condemned myself to a final 11 weeks of torture...

e14mum · 10/01/2008 10:04

Didn't she go to Dubai/Egypt/?? for New Year and nice long holiday? Would expect her back soon though.

thanks for new thread MB! Have a good morning all...

Glammama · 10/01/2008 10:06

ah, that would explain it.
E14mum, antenatal in TH? Are you signed up for anything? Found a useful blog lat night, link on local mumsnet page.

e14mum · 10/01/2008 10:08

HQ- I have to say I do enjoy being pg too. Esp the second trimester! I will admit that the past week or so has gotten harder, and I feel myself slowing down and getting frustrated at not being able to do everything I could before, but I still love carrying this baby and all that it involves.

Glammama · 10/01/2008 10:10

No HQ, positive thinking is waht it's about. I'm enjoying this pregnancy also. DP is convinced this site is a really bad place for women in early stages of pregnancy, too much upset and negativity. I saw that thread as well and was tempted to start a "Isn't pregnancy a wonderful thing?" thread.

e14mum · 10/01/2008 10:16

Thanks GM- am waiting for blinkin NCT to organise Jan/Feb dates and it's stressing me out. How do I book the ones at the RL (if there's ANY space left at this late date!?)? Am planning to go to the drop in ones that the physios run at RL in Feb. This is not how I planned it!!!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 10/01/2008 10:22

HQ - I love being pregnant.

Although yes it does feel like the baby is lying sideways sometimes and while leaning over the toilet last night trying to be sick I did have a little 'leakage', all in all it's been ok.

Fitnforty - I got in the lift at work today to be greeted with 'Goodness your baby is big, mine was big and arrived 5 weeks early.' I don't think I'm plotting that big but am now feeling a little jumpy - 5 weeks early is leass than 3 weeks away! Will ask the GP on Friday (I don't get to see a midwif until 2 more weeks time!).

Glammama · 10/01/2008 10:30

e14mum, I'm planning to go to those RL ones too. We could do them together! You can get in touch with me via the local page. We should really meet up as we're so close.

Glammama · 10/01/2008 10:33

Don't know how to book those classes though, might ring the clinin later or drop round as I'm so close. Feeling very proud of myself, I finally washed the kitchen floor this morning! I'm so unmotivated at thr moment, it's untrue. I'm currently washing some teeny tiny vests and mittens etc......spurred me onto some more general cleaning.
surprisedmum, being sick and leaking.....what a double whammy. Poor you.

HolidaysQueen · 10/01/2008 10:51

Glam - I started an I love being pregnant thread

I was having such a rubbish morning I needed to cheer myself up with some positive thinking! Having done that I have now just received an email to say two good friends have got engaged, so I'm now really really cheered up

HQx

MerlinsBeard · 10/01/2008 11:55

just marking my place on teh new thread

feedmenow · 10/01/2008 12:13

Hello ladies, remember me? I haven't been on for ages, probably well over a month Infact, I had no idea that preggersagain had already had her girls! When did that happen? How are they? Has anyone else had an early arrival?

Anyway, I wanted to come by because I really feel that I ought to start making the effort now we are getting so close. Plus, I keep thinking of little questions that I don't really know where to ask, and here is probably as good a place as any!

Hope everyone is well. xxx

MumOfBillyTheKid · 10/01/2008 13:16

Hi ladies (welcome newbies/welcome back those back again)

HQ - I too enjoy being pregnant! I really expected it to be much worse than this, but like you am worried about condemning myself to an awful last 9 weeks!

Kirst - congratulations and welcome little Lauren!

Preggers - glad to hear the girls are doing well - fingers crossed for the weekend homecoming!

I had first of 4 NHS relaxation classes yesterday - was interesting (came away with a free support band for under bump!) - they were giving exercises out (bit late for some who are due early Feb in the class! - I was latest due date in class of 18 March). One lady brought her dh - poor bloke - was the only one (even tho letter said women only!) and he stayed for the full 1 1/2 hrs!

I went into office on Tuesday for first time in 6 weeks to "look at the size of you" comments - luckily i'm not too hormonal

Going to order pram, car seat and matress (oh and collect cotbed) at we/end - might feel a bit more organised then!

Keep well, keep farting and get those LO's heads down!

MOBTK xx

onemore · 10/01/2008 13:56

Hi everyone, I haven't been on for soo long! (this is my 5th so I've actually gone through weeks nearly forgetting I'm pregnant!!)
I have been popping in now and again to see how everyones getting on.

Can't believe it's so close now! Like MOBTK I'm now thinking that I should start getting organised for the new arrival, if it comes early - like so many have already(!) I'm stuffed!!

Also can anyone show me where the thread with our dates is and is there one to say whose had already?

Thanks
Take Care x

HolidaysQueen · 10/01/2008 14:00

Hello onemore - dates thread is here

derah · 10/01/2008 14:13

Oooh, have to tell you what my lovey DH has done....

We won a Red Letter Day thing at work for putting in extra hours and generally being helpful. He wants to go on a racing car driving one, but at first he said we'd all go on a family one like whale watching. I tried to insist that since he's the one who earned the voucher, he should go play cars. Now he says that since I need some pampering, and since I was the one stuck at home dealing with DD and stuff while he worked late, he wants to use the voucher to send me off to a spa!!! Mmmmmmmm, I'm ever so tempted to let him (I could so use a spa!!) but I still reckon it's the most fair if we all do something as a family. But I'm very happy that he wants to do something so nice for me!

derah · 10/01/2008 14:14

Sorry, that first bit should say He won a Red Letter Day, not We.....

SpaceHopperHayls · 10/01/2008 14:40

Afternoon all,

derah - that's lovely of him. I say you let him send you to a spa...take advantage of being spoiled.

Is it Friday yet? This week has seemed so much more difficult than last week - all I can concentrate on is getting the afternoon over and done with and getting home to my sofa and dogs(and Bloke, I suppose). I didn't expect all that energy to disappear so suddenly and dramatically, but all of a sudden it's like the second month all over again.

fitnforty · 10/01/2008 14:45

derah, that's so bless of him!

Mine went out with the lodger to a pub quiz last night despite me dropping heavy hints that it would be nice to spend the evening in on our own while lodger went by himself.

Have had 4 phone calls from work so far today and some spreadsheets sent to me to work on from home...still more relaxing than being in the office! Pelvis has eased up a bit, my snooze helped at lunchtime

Hello to those new and long-absent from here, get gossiping!
