Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

kitty - I have been training DS2 to walk more. I keep accidentally on purpose forgetting to get the buggy out! He is just 3 now, and I am not getting a double / buggy board for him! To be fair he is getting quite good at walking - as long as the buggy is not there - as soon as it is he's sitting in it waiting to be pushed.

sweetkitty · 10/02/2008 16:25

DD1 has been walking well for about 6 months at least but recently she has been saying she is tired and just stopping dead in the street (cue people falling over the top of her) I think it's more to do with toddler tantrums than actually being tired. Your DS2 will be 3 1/2 by the time the baby is here so should be fine for walking. I still have DD1's wrist strap on the buggy as a threat if she's runs off. I found the wrist strap good when she was first starting to walk.

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2008 18:30

My belly button is turning inside out

I look about 6 months pg and all the other pg ladies I know have these neat little mounds

are there any other porking whoppers on here or just me

isaidno · 10/02/2008 19:09

Franny - my belly button is flat - no dip left!

pigleychez · 10/02/2008 19:52

I have no proper belly button either. Mines like a little slit!

18 weeks as of yesterday and since friday have begin to feel baby moving!
Makes it all seem so real and i keep trying to imagine baby wriggling around in there.
Cant wait for DH to be able to feel it... hasnt said anything but think he feels like hes missing out!

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 10/02/2008 21:20

sweetkitty

i have to try to get my ditsy pg brain in order here

the way i thought it was is this

before Susan had bloods etc if there were 110 women in a room a ll susans age then one of them could have problems

AFTER the bloods there would be 236 women in the room 1 of whom could have problems so her risk is less than HALF what it was according to age alone

can anyone verify??

How are you today Susan - any clarity about what you are going to do ?

shortshafe · 10/02/2008 22:04

Paula - i think you've got it the right way round - e.g. 1 person out of 110 people is twice the risk of 1 person out of 236 people. Tis very tricky for anyone with pregnancy brain though!

Franny - no belly button to speak of here either, just a stretched 'dip' where it used to be. Mine's never popped out though - even at 41 wks! I always feel like everyone else has cute little mounds while I just seem to spread out all over. Not good!

On the pushchair/equipment side of things, we got loads off ebay for dd, and I've got pretty good at selling it on. We bought a lovely Loola for £100 that we used for the first 12 months, then I sold it and got £100 for it! Bargain.

purplejennyrose · 10/02/2008 22:18

Franny - I feel huge - enormous bump already at 18 weeks whereas first time round people didn't notice until shortly before she was born! Saw a good friend today and said 'I'm alright, feeling huge...' and she looked at me, smiled and said 'yeah'....

JODIEhavingababy · 10/02/2008 22:33

Evening. I envy those with bumps, I just look fat! No neat bump here, it's gone all round (it did last time too)

Anyway I've gone and done it. I've bought a Phil and Teds!!! It's second hand off e-bay, but am well pleased! (DH isn't, but it will be me using the damn thing and getting it in and out of the car!)

Just thought I'd share that info with you, I can go to bed smiling now. See you in the morning!

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 10/02/2008 22:40

ooh jodie!!! what colour which one do tell!!

i have no bump either! sob!

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 10/02/2008 22:41

isaidno · 11/02/2008 08:10

2 hours and 53 minutes until my scan.

Sorry can't think of anything else right now!

Minkus · 11/02/2008 08:34

Enormous bump here too- but a fat wobbly one not a nice neat taut little mound either! Only started showing last week when I ditched normal clothes for mat ones and ever since its got huuuuuge

for you isaidno for your scan- will you tell us about it afterwards?

We are v cold here this morning, had a power cut in the night which turned our central heating off so it didn't come on as normal this morning at 6.30. Thermostat says 9 degrees downstairs!!! DS is sat on sofa with hot porridge, pjs, dressing gown, two blankets and a hot water bottle bless him. Brr its a bit chilly!

Have been wetting myself loads this last few days - even though I thought I'd been really good with my pelvic floor exercises. V embarrassing, think I'll be making a beeline for the tena lady aisle soon- dh keeps on saying "little bit of wee?" every time I cough/sneeze (which I do a lot cos I've got a revolting cold) which is just soooo funny NOT

EEC · 11/02/2008 08:40

Hello all. Good luck with scan isaidno.

Thinking of you susan. Hope you have managed to get some sleep. 1 in 136 isn't that high a risk - only 14 away from 250 which would put you in 'low' risk category. Still, I think if it were me I would want to know. Lots of hugs to you..

As for great fat bumps - count me in! Feel gross - but proud at the same time iygwim.

JODIEhavingababy · 11/02/2008 08:47

Morning

Sorry for the short post last night, but I was so excited! {grin}

ISAIDNO - How exciting. Can't wait to hear all the details!

Minkus - I feel for you, it's bloody freezing outside! Hopefully it wil get warmer later like yesterday. And keep up those pelvic floor!!

As for buggy, it's the charcoal one and iot comes with everything, raincover, cocoon (although I don't think I'll need that in the summer) sun shade etc etc, before I tell you how much I paid, when I priced it up in Mothercare it was 485.... I got it for 260 (plus 17 p & p) I know it's expensive, but it can be used as a single seater buggy too, so I will get plenty of wear out of it! And I'll sell my M & P's to make up for some of it. I would put pics on, but I don't know how!

We had a lovely day yesterday, went up to the peak district, by Chatsworth House and went for a big long walk, we did 3 hours! The weather was ace! We were so high up and could see for miles! We went with another couple and their DS so DH's all trussed up with babies on back, and my friend and I had a good old catch up! Then went for scrummy Sunday lunch after, with Treacle pud and custard for desert! My idea of a perfect day!

beepbeep · 11/02/2008 08:55

Jodie - I was looking at that one, glad I didn't bid against you!!

Got my scan on Thursday - how romantic for vanentines day. Am now obviously pregnant but don't think i'm as big at this point as i was last time round, but maybe it's cause it was all new and felt huge last time. Still have a little excess 'cushioning' from DD1 so my belly button is shallowing but not out yet! Though last time it just went flat!!

sweetkitty · 11/02/2008 09:37

Morning all foggy day here today.

Paula - thats the way I had worked it out, her risk was half what it was originally, think I must have missed something out on my typing, I honestly think I get more dozy with each baby. I did read an article that a woman does get less intelligent in pregnancy something to do with the baby stealing brain proteins and generally secreting hormones that make the Mum more tired (hence giving more nutrients to the baby) they compared it with comparing the brain of a 20 year old with a 60 year old not as sharp. Well thats my excuse anyway.

Jodie - congrat son the P&T I haven't got around to looking for one proper yet, I'm a bit wary of buying off ebay probably because I'm am never lucky enough to get a good deal.

isaidno - good luck with the scan today, it's so exciting we are all coming up to scan time.

I don't have a proper bump yet I just look fat still. Belly button still getting pushed out though.

JODIEhavingababy · 11/02/2008 09:44

I know, I'm a bit nervous about it myself, but I'm sure it will be OK. I just REALLY wanted one, and couldn't afford a new one, and as you said before, they keep their value, there were a couple on there that were 2nd hand already! I'm that excited I'm thinking about using it straight away!! We'll see....

Poledra · 11/02/2008 09:46

Morning all
Hope we are all feeling well this morning.

Belly button moving rapidly towards resembling a dartboard as it has done before. Bump large enough for poorly 2-yo to curl round and rest her head on it yeaterday afternoon when she needed some TLC.

Not getting a new buggy this time round, but am getting a new car. Unfortunately, 3 under 5 means trading my classy estate car for a shed on wheels (otherwise known as an MPV). I think I'd prefer a new buggy....

ScottishSusan - thinking of you.

sweetkitty · 11/02/2008 10:34

Let me know how you get on Jodie - still trying to convince DP we need a P&T, the thing is he never goes out with the DDs on his own as it is nevermind with another one as well. Usually when we go out I push DD2 in the buggy and he looks after DD1 (i.e. plays all these stupid Daddy games with her) then it's a struggle for me to get her to behave when we are out alone.

poledra - we have just got the dreaded MPV (will have 3 under 5 as well) it's not that bad so far I was dreading driving it but it's actually quite nice to drive.

Is anyone else peeing like mad? With DD2 I needed to pee every 5 minutes but that was at the end when I had loads of pressure but this time I need to pee constantly. Also my pelvic floor isn't what it once was am trying to do my exercises a lot though.

MissChika · 11/02/2008 11:06

Morning,

ScottishSusan - just wanted to add my support and send big hugs to you.

How is everyone this morning - was foggy in South East London too earlier on but the sun has come out and it looks like another glorious day!

Lots of talk of bumps ... some days mine looks like a proper bump but most of the time it just looks like I'm a bit flabby round the middle . I do find that it looks and feels more like a baby bump in the evenings though which is slightly odd!?!

Good luck with the scan Isaidno.

NikNakF · 11/02/2008 11:35

Hi all! So much to catch up on from when I joined on Thursday! Wow...

Firstly, hugs to Susan, hope you're bearing up.

Good luck isaidno!! And Jodie the P&T sounds great. Going to start getting everything after scan next Tuesday. Loking round birth centre tomorrow evening which is exciting.

I have been feeling flutterings and quite a bit of moving, then last night we went to see Cirque du Soleil - I think with all the noise I got a real kick! Want more!

Belly big, lots of twin questions but button still an inny...

My poor pelvic floor

isaidno · 11/02/2008 12:11

Scan was fab - could see loads! And most importantly the sonographer was PRETTY SURE IT IS A GIRL!!!!!!

Only one problem - the placenta is blocking the birth canal - so no way out for the baby at the moment. Have a scan booked for 34 weeks to see if it has moved , otherwise it would be a c section - the opposite of the home birth I want. Still, at least I get another scan!

I have to confess here, my pelvic floor is feeling the strain too - it really aches by the afternoon.

Going to drag DH to a pram shop this afternoon..

JODIEhavingababy · 11/02/2008 12:18

OMG Isaidno, A GIRL!!! How lucky (and after 2 boys too) I bet you are made up (not that you'd be bothered either way I bet!)

So happy for you, it seems like ages til I can find out.... 4 weeks and 2 days and counting.

Everthing else was OK though? And the Placenta has plenty of time to move around, my friend gave birth naturally after having a low lying placenta at her 20 week scan.
