Hi everyone,

New to the site- didn't want to get too excited because of previous miscarriages but all seems to be going well so far with this one, so getting very excited now!

Not sure how to add myself to list but I'm due 7th July and this will be my first.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome CarrieHD9

Hope everyones well.

My new pram arrived today! Im like a little girl pushing it around the front room... Just need a baby now!
Both DH and I have said how strange it feels having it in the house, feels very real now

Can you tell its my first !?!

sweetkitty · 18/01/2008 21:39

Evening all, I feel the same way if I don't feel the babby move which I sometimes don't I get all paranoid. I hate this stage between the last scan and the kicking. The ms has all but gone now (apart from teeth brushing) I must start eating more healthily though, my diet has been appalling for most of this pregnancy.

Picking up car tomorrow morning now.

CarrieHD9 - hello and welcome, pregnancy after mc is hard but hopefully we are all past the danger stage now

Jodie - hope papmpered chef goes well for you

MrsHop - wish there was pregnancy yoga round here, I have a DVD somewhere I should dust off but I suppose I can't really do much or it could aggrevate the SPD oh speaking of which walked up a travalator thing in Asda today and it was painful .

isaidno - lovely bump and you are tiny as well

lazyhippo - good news about your scan hope that clot is shrinking, your wee one is a fighter thats for sure

sweetkitty · 18/01/2008 21:40

on the new pram pigley

isaidno · 19/01/2008 07:19

pigley - promise me you won't get one of those reborn dolls so you can practise pushing your pram properly (shuddering at memory of that programme!)

Kitty - good luck with your car today!

carrie - welcome - add yourself to the list. Just copy and paste it into the message box, then adjust it to include yourself.

I got kicked by my baby pretty hard yesterday. I've been feeling movement since about 12 / 13 weeks, not everyday, and only at quiet times. This week (I am 16 weeks now) it has stepped up a gear and is definite, more frequent, and easier to notice.

sweetkitty · 19/01/2008 07:57

Thanks isaidno - have had an awful sleep last night, DD1 ended up in our bed and was v restless (it was windy she gets frightened of the noise), then the bloody cats keft mooching about waking me up, at 4am this morning I woke up with a migraine so came downstairs for some paracetamol and a sugary cup of tea, went back up at 6am slept a bit until 7am, everyone else is still asleep so am having 5 mins mumsnet before they all get up.

pigley - what you want to do is go get your prams wheels all dirty, the cosy toes bit too, cram into the back a juice bottle, various wrappers, some wipes both new and used, some reins, a few toys and books then your pram will look like you have a toddler!

isaidno - I was going to say you sure you haven't got 2 in there but I used to hate it when people said that so I'm not going to what is with that anyway the way people "threaten" you with twins even when you say "no 2 scans have shown only one" they still say" oh maybe one was hiding!" as if twins would be so bad.

Anyway I'm off to ponder for a bit and wake up the rest of the family - lazy sausages, am I the only one who gets up before my toddlers???

FoghornLeghorn · 19/01/2008 08:00

I have been up since 4.30

DD1 wet the bed then got in with us, she wouldn't settle though and managed to wake DD2 up by talking and singing .
DD1, DD2 & are all up while DH is first asleep - it's his first day off in ages - We are all moody, miserable and tired

isaidno · 19/01/2008 09:08

pigley - don't forget to chew up a biscuit and rub it on as much of the pram upholstery as possible.

And while you're at it put some teeth marks somewhere.

beepbeep · 19/01/2008 10:26

morning all. still being bit sick here but find if i eat as soon as i'm hungry i manage to kerb it. feeling lots of movement now including few little kicks, not sure if i felt dd as much as this, i seem to have blanked out my whole pregnancy with her, mum keeps telling me "you were like this last time" but i don't remember! like isaidno mine have really stepped up this week (now 16+4), can't beleve it's less than a month til next scan, all going to quickly. think it's cause of having 1 14 month old to deal with - no time to think about this one, feel bit guilty that it hasn't even been born yet and i'm already neglecting it!

did yoga last time round and really enjoyed it, hoping to start again next month - waiting for spaces.

going to our local midwife led unit this aft (chipping norton) went there after DD's birth last time for bit of tlc and bf help and they were brilliant so thinking bout actually having the next one there, also makes it easier to get a longer stay there if you birth there aparently, cause they've brought new 24 rules in in Oxfordshire (even if you're a first mum) think that is shocking, so much for the encouraging people to bf etc. anyway getting quite excited about looking round again, my only concern is 'what if something goes wrong' i know they are really well trained (a friend delivered breach there & they were great) but they have no docs or theatre and it's a long way from nearest hospital. we'll see how it goes, dd popped out in 4 hours with no complications or pain relief (just got to the hospital in time for her to pop out!) so hoping the next will be the same!

beepbeep · 19/01/2008 10:26

sorry, just seen how long i babbled on for!

MrsHOP · 19/01/2008 12:00

morning everyone,

MissChika - good to see you're local!

I am pretty much the only one out of my group of friends who is expecting, so I am feeling quite detatched from all the party/boozing crew at the moment - I wouldn't have it any other way though!

Had a really weird thing last night - a sharp pain under my right rib that woke me up, and kept on all night - got a bit paranoid and did some googling but nothing told me I had to rush to hospital, am guessing it's OK! Got blood tests on Monday so will ask them all about it...

Minkus · 19/01/2008 12:09

Morning all

Welcome carrie- there are five of us due on 7th July now, I wonder who will go first eventually!

at pram pigley, I was just the same! Couldn't believe that we would be having a real baby to put in it.

Hope getting the new car goes well kitty, before you know it I bet it will feel like it's been yours forever.

Sorry to hear a few of you are having problems sleeping/dc are waking you up the little blighters- ds seems to be sleeping a bit better now thankfully although the early starts are still a bit of a killer.

Dh and I came up with a new weekend "treat" this morning for ds so we can get a bit of a lie in, was great! We allowed him on to his top bunk (not normally allowed up there) and hooked up his dvd player that we only use for on long car journeys. He had his breakfast up there and was happy as larry- and we got up at 10. Bliss!

Have a good weekend all. We are off to local play area in the Forest of Dean with lovely long walks, excellent play area and really good hot chocolate in the cafe x x

sweetkitty · 19/01/2008 16:18

hi all well got new car and it's actually not too bad, went on a "big drive" to IKEA (DP drove not me) to check out some beds for DD2 who will be getting kicked out her cot come July. It's a bedside cot so need it for new baby. Cannot recommend a bedside cot highly enough especially of you are breasfeeding. It becomes an extension of your bed, baby is nice and snug beside you all night but have their own little space. It then converts to a regular cot when you need it.

isidno - actaully forgot about the trodden in biscuit as well, I'm not telling you about the horrors I found underneath the car seats this morning when I took them out

beepbeep - I know what you mean first pregnancy you are totally concentrated on yourself and the baby bit by the second one you are so busy with teh first there are large chunks of the day you actually forget you are pregnant. Mums of more than 2 will probably say it gets worse as you go along.

isaidno · 19/01/2008 17:28

Kitty - we're trading in dh's car and he's having my little yaris to take to work. I promised I would clean it for him.

I've gradually removed all the sweet wrappers and toy cars, but the raisin collection we keep under the seats is still undisturbed....

Hope it's not raining tomorrow so I can get the hoover on it!

beepbeep - kitty is right - you let the unborn baby get on with it while you deal with the ones who are bothering you for food / drink / company / etc! I quite easily forget about being pregnant!

Not brought a thing for baby yet, am i the only one?

sweetkitty · 19/01/2008 21:23

Mummywannabee - I haven't bought a thing for the baby yet, want to wait and see what flavour it is whether it will need a new wardrobe or we can get a loads of stuff down from the loft. Am always superstitious until after the second scan.

JODIEhavingababy · 19/01/2008 22:07

Evening all....

Why is there nothing on the tele on a Saturday night!!!! RUBBISH!

Went to look at Double Buggies again today, they are so heavy! Need to do some weight lifting I think! . Not as expensive as I first thought though, which is good! might chose the one we want and then started scanning E-bay!

Minkus - I love it where you live, we try to get down to Symonds Yat about 3 times a year to stay, although has been difficult since DS has arrived, but we do get down there for the day every now and again to get some decent walking in - infact, it's where DS went on his first hike when he was 5 weeks old! the pictures are lovely!

Sweetkitty - I'm with you on the new things, I too get a bit wary about buying things this early, god knows why! But again, going to wait until we see what colour it is to see whther we need to start going mad on pretty dresses!!! (I hope so!)

FoghornLeghorn · 20/01/2008 06:55

We are going to find out what we are having
I said to DH that I was happy either which way so would leave the decision down to him as we were finding it quite stressful discussing it - he announced yesterday he thinks we should find out and I'm so pleased, as is DD1.

We were out shopping yesterday afternoon and I found myself drawn to all the baby boy clothes so I think it's a good idea we are finding out !

It says in my paperwork that at the 20 week scan the sonographers are hapy to tell you the sex of the baby should you wish to know, I'm going to be 14 weeks at my scan so am going to cheekily ask if they can tell - we are also going to have a 4D scan to triple check

isaidno · 20/01/2008 07:18

I dreamt last night I had a huuuuuge baby boy with lots of hair. He seemed to appear fully dressed in a hideous baby bunting type smock....

EEC · 20/01/2008 09:10

Worst day of morning sickness ever yesterday - felt soo ill and also an awful headache. So irritating after finally starting to feel better. 15 weeks today. Shouldn't be getting worse should I. Do I need to worry about the headaches? I never gat them when not preg, but are getting pretty common now. Sure it'sfine, but can't help worrying about everything!

I have also bought nothing for baby yet. Can't quite bring myself to, and DH is still really anxious about tempting fate etc after mc. Worse than me I think.

I found actual chips under car seat last time! Ugh.

EEC · 20/01/2008 09:11

Dreamt I had a kitten not a baby, and this was perfectly normal!

Min912 · 20/01/2008 09:37

Hello all! EEC I've been having quite a few headaches this week, but I checked the mildly annoying 'what to expect' book and apparently it's just yet another wonderful pregnancy side-effect. Something to do with blood pressure, etc.

I thought we could get away without the dreaded double buggy and do sling + existing buggy, but your collective words of wisdom plus speaking to friends have convinced me otherwise. I think we may get a P&T (second hand) - I do live in Oxfordshire so they're practically de rigeur here.

Am also tempted by the idea of a bedside cot thing. Part of me thinks we can't justify spending loads on a second baby, and then part of me thinks 'whatever will make it as easy as poss as it's going to be hard with two' and also I remember how much stuff we got for DS and poor second baby is going to have soo many hand-me downs (even if it is a pink one) that perhaps s/he deserves a little treat! Or two!

beepbeep · 20/01/2008 10:31

Was in bath last night and little one was going a bit mad, can feel turning, general wriggling and punches/kicks, I actually saw my stomach move a couple of times too!! DH could feel it too. Surely this isn't right for my dates? I've been sure all along we've been at least a week further on. What do you think???

Had visit to mwife led unit yesterday and think i'm now pretty settled on it. DH is really chuffed cause he wanted us to go there last time.

EEC, also still feeling pretty sick (now 16+4) and getting bad headaches, though these do seem to have eased this last week. never one fr headaches normally, got told by mw that it's pretty common, just drink tonnes and take paracetamol if necessary.

haven't bought anything yet other than a couple of packs of nappies, also have a bit of a thing about the second scan, then we'll think about getting stuff. Last time I wouldn't have the pram in the house under about 2 wks before she was born. Got to decorate spare room for DD1 so that her little bro/sis can have her nursery, but we've decided we'll wait until march/april time.

isaidno · 20/01/2008 12:18

I just heard the heartbeat! Woo hoo!

Midwife just visited to take my triple test bloods, and used the sonicaid thingy. So, I'm really pleased now even though I knew thw baby was there!

Beepbeep - perhaps you are a bit further than your dates - it's not an exact science after all. Also if you are quite thin it would be easier to see / feel from the outside. Either that or you have terrible wind .
