Tee hee about fanny/bum Really made me giggle.

When I was about 9 we had an american student living with us for a year- I asked her once if she had a rubber I could borrow (I couldn't find mine in my pencil case and needed to correct a mistake I had made in my homework) and the look on her face was priceless. I should have said eraser to make her understand I didn't want to borrow a condom

paulaplumpbottom · 16/01/2008 18:34

LOL My poor 4 year old has to say eraser because I can't stand hearing her ask for a rubber. I know its silly but it gives me the creeps.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/01/2008 19:12

hello all - poor you hatrick are you sure it is going to cost all that- are you going to trade it in - not sure i would do too much work!! (since pc broke have lost all email addresses so would love you to send me a quickie just so i have it!!)

have felt terrible terrible all day - sick as a dog- was sick this morning but felt no relief

ds was watching Ron weasley vomiting slugs and i had to leave the room....thing is - how do i know if it is just an off-day with ms or a bug????

re the car thing...i drive a beetle and it is fine for one child (although rubbish for prams) but two is a squeeze

i would like a renault scenic - big style- but we have one huge car so need just a diddy one for when dcs start learning to drive

when oh when will we feel better???? not gained weight yet but am within 1/4 of a pound of having done - its all down hill from here!

Hi All

Not been on for a few days - getting my head round being back at work and getting all the paperwork done for the term. It's been terrible weather and we've had so many wet break - it makes the kids loopy!!!

Sorry to hear some of you are still feeling ill - hope it passes soon!

Loved the conversation about fanny/bum
I have had vulvul varicuses since dc 3 and each time it seems to get worse but yes tight knickers does relieve it a bit and also just keeping off my feet as much as possible in later stages....huh...as if that is possible

I also can't wait to find out baby sex - scan not until 22nd Feb. I am really not at all bothered whether it's a boy or girl but a girl would kind of be nice for dd then she wouldn't have to say she had 5 brothers. My dh is convinced it's another boy and dd said "don't be silly daddy I just know it's a girl" - bless Well we'll know soon enough!!

Take care all xx

shortshafe · 16/01/2008 20:32

Hi all, have not been on for a while as have been feeling pants . Am starting to feel better - am 14 weeks now and had scan today, was lovely to see baby wriggling and kicking around. I think I've felt it moving sometimes too, didn't feel dd until 20 ish weeks so lovely to feel it early this time.

A colleague of mine at work has a qashquai (sp?) and it's lovely - loads of room, and easy to get in and out of, I think it would be great for a family, seems much more spacious than the focus or golf.

Am very of everyone planning holidays, we're saving all spare cash to get a bigger car, currently have a fiesta, so no chance of any holidays here!

welcome to all new people, and hugs to everyone feeling , whatever the reason.

Helloooo is anyone out there??????

Logged in just now and am amazed to see that there have been no posts today! Is everyone ok? Do hope you're all doing fine and not languishing on the sofa feeling ill and hence not posting...

Mummywannabe · 17/01/2008 15:32

Hi Minkus, i was wondering where everyone was too!

Boss told me today that i really shouldn't wear stripes! I replied i wasn't trying to hide my tummy i was pregnant not fat! Cheeky sod! Having said that tummy is alarminly large this week! Actually love it, can't stop stroking my tummy.

twinkle1 · 17/01/2008 15:36

Hi all,

right must go and feed the chickens as they are swimming round the garden
twinkle

sweetkitty · 17/01/2008 15:37

I'm here

well I am going to pick up the new car tonight I am so nervous as I have to leave DP, the DDs and the car seats here and pick it up myself, it's so big compared to the Clio I am terrified of driving it don't know what I'm going to do for nursery tomorrow. Feel kind of pathetic but I'm a very nervous driver and this will only be the third car I have ever driven. Everyone is saying "oh you will get used to it blah blah blah but doesn't stop me feeling like this I feel sick right now.

Am quite sad getting rid of the Clio as we got it on a Sunday and my waters broke with DD1 on the Monday and we brought her home from the hospital on the Wednesday in it. It was also the car we drove up when we all came up from England to Scotland.

Anyway sorry thats just me

Love the varicose veins posts I haven't had the pleasure of a fanjo one but after DD2 was born I had the pleasure of one pile, wasn't that bad.

Shortshafe - no holidays here either due to new car mentioned above and we want to sort out the kitchen and do something with the garden this year (oh and I have a new pram to buy ) glad you are starting to feel a bit better as well.

isaidno · 17/01/2008 15:53

Bought a car today!! A xsara picasso - pick it up next Wednesday! SOOOOOOOO excited!!! It's 3 years old and an automatic, so I only have to worry about fast, slow and steer!

I'm sure you'll be ok in yours Kitty. I've only been driving 3 years, and the little yaris is my comfort zone. The xsara didn't feel too much of a bus!

My stomach has gone huge this week, and hard too! Am finally feeling properly pregnant

sweetkitty · 17/01/2008 15:57

Yey well done on the new car isaidno, we looked at Picasso as well, I would love an automatic but DP refused .

Do you think we will finally be "proper" mums with Mum cars, I never thought I would have a Mum-car

EEC · 17/01/2008 16:00

Hello all. Sweetkitty, I know exactly how you feel about picking up the car. You really will be fine, but I have never been that confident with new cars either, and each time it feels quite traumatic. I'm much better now though, having been thrown in at the deep end - When we moved to France I was expected to drive a ford Van on the wrong side of the road with the steering wheel on the other side! I was terrified...I really did get used to it!

Am starting to be rather fond of my tummy too and am stroking it alot!

DD wanted to share her sweets today with bump! Lucky me...

Minkus · 17/01/2008 16:01

Phew you are all there after all!

Like the image I've got now twink of chickens swimming...

And I am stroking my burgeoning tum as well, if I wear maternity clothes I look preggers but if I wear normal clotes I don't, wierd huh.

Sweetkitty could you have a good old drive round in the car tonight on your own? Maybe by the time you get to the nursery run tomorow you'll be ok. Know what you mean about the feeling sick bit. Oh no sorry that's still the ms for me

Am still signed off work and am getting bored out of my brain, and lonely too. But can't actually do much as it makes me sicker- met a friend for lunch yesterday and had a v small bowl of pasta, which at home would be ok, but because I had undergone the "stress" of going into the town (small market town, 10 mins walk in) I was sick for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Pathetic. I am virtually housebound for fear of doing stuff that makes me sick again. And lazy with it- apathy has set in and I just can't be arsed to do anything useful, lots of little jobs around the house need doing but I can't get motivated to do anything. Sorry that's all me me me me me! Just feeling a bit fed up. (although I have found something that stops me feeling so nauseous all the time- murray mints. Am getting through a bag a day, my teeth will be rotten by the time the lo arrives)

Minkus · 17/01/2008 16:02

aaaargh cross posted with you two isaid no and eec hello to you ladies as well!

twinkle1 · 17/01/2008 16:21

Minkus,
like you im still sick lots not put any weight on yet which they tell me with twins i should have done!!!
I went for a scan in leeds on mon and threw up all the way there and back.I got some strange looks off lorry drivers on M62 Dont care i dont go anywhere without security sick bucket
like you if i do very much i really suffer for it.Im going out tonight for my works xmas meal to an italian and thinking im going to eat what i want and if i throw i dont care,I just want to go out and do something normal.
right must tidy up a bit
twinkle

pigleychez · 17/01/2008 18:00

Hi everyone,

Had a manic few days at work here! Roll on the weekend!

All this talk of new cars. I did think about it a while ago but decided id prefer the extra cash in my account each month so didnt bother. Nothing wrong with the car so no point really.
Oh well, my new Pram is coming tomorrow so at least i have one set of new wheels!.

My tummy has grown immensly lately too and its looking very obvious now. My friend is 34 weeks and we look about the same size!! So shes either tiny or im massive!

nannyjo · 17/01/2008 19:18

Pigglychez, I'm 16 weeks and third time round and still not showing!!

I've not put on any weight either but as with baby 1 and 2 I lose half a stone then don't get back to conception weight till nearly half way through. Pregnancy is the best diet ever for me but with 3 kids in the near future I think I should try to find alternative methods

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 17/01/2008 20:06

i am not showing either nannyjo and it is annoying me a bit! my jeans are tight at the button and look more muffin topped than before but nothing proper

lots of pgs and sure there was more there usually - dp says i will moan buckets wnen big so should relish it

felt awful all day again and had to go to dentist and have a filling replaced after the dentist accidently filled the wrong tooth last week due to no x-ray
was reading my PaulaYates book of pregnancy and she said she loved pea soup at which i decided i would no longer feel sick if i had pea soup and a 6 o clock dragged ds1 to local posh shop to get it

needless to say i did a full shop - NO- pea soup and was nearly crying with nausea at the checkout!

the joys - Paulas book is fabulous btw - i agree with (almost) all she says and it makes me smile!

sorry to natter - feel like i barely speak to an adult - feel like you minkus - this sickness makes me lose the impetus to do anything!
