I have been wearing maternity trousers all day, and haven't been so comfy for weeks.

But I had to change because they got all wet in the rain, so I put some normal ones on and they are bloody awful.

I am staying in my maternity ones until July now!

FrannyandZooey · 11/01/2008 18:17

I am so tired still, I am doing the falling alseep on the sofa thing every day if I get left alone for 5 mins

and someone today asked me if it was twins

am not even 15 weeks yet so I guess I am eating too much

isaidno · 11/01/2008 18:35

Franny - I've nodded off in the afternoon twice this week, and still can't stay up past 10:30pm!

Umlellala · 11/01/2008 20:51

Hello all

Am now brave enough to join you and will attempt to read all the threads and get to know stories and that!

I am mummymagic btw - have name-changed finally (Franny, think I have an email from you about heuristic play that I thought I replied to but may have not done... how rude of me. will check )

Due on July 16th with second baby - first is dd 21mths.

Um... am recovering from a nasty nasty flu/cold thing so feel like crap but had our scan last week which was fabulous. Dd said it looked like a crocodile

TJuice · 11/01/2008 22:40

hi misschika
i am in copenhagen, denmark so it different - i know that you can take a year of govt-paid pay (i think its max £500 gross a week) which would be okay apart from the taxes are horrendous and i am part-time anyway, so would get much less.

i am now waiting to see what part of that my company will pay (i think they have to pay full -pay for 14 weeks but i am not sure)

i have been here for over a year and a half so its okay and they were quite positive (family is important here and they are progressive about leave and benefits) but it is advertising and its run by men, and I am the first woman to be pregnant there. so its all new for everyone - eep!

hope everyone is okay. i am as achey and painey as you all describe. my lower back hurts and i am having stretchy womb pains a lot. it was difficult having the discussion with my boss today as i was so tired (averaging only five hours a night due to irritating imsomnia again) and my emotions are more on the surface when i am knackered. add in a massive dose of hormones and i am on the edge!

Umlellala - another great day to have a baby, DD1's birthday

pigleychez · 12/01/2008 09:59

MRSMADMAND and PONTO

both due on my birthday - July 5th!

Im due exactly a week after but sods law baby will come early on my birthday!

lazyhippo · 12/01/2008 10:01

Thank you so much for all your lovely messages and support. They made me cry but in a positive way (does that sound mad?-I've no control over the waterworks at the moment.)
Only intermittent bleeding and occasional cramps so cautiously positive about next tuesday.
Paulayatesbiggestfan- I think it was the size of the haematoma and the heavy bleeding that causing the risk- and that as bean gets bigger than the clot, then the risks diminish. So fingers crossed!
Thank you all again xx

sweetkitty · 12/01/2008 16:13

lazyhippo - still keeping everything crossed for you as well, I did think that as the baby gets bigger the clot would be less of a problem.

foghorn - DD1's birthday is the 20th July, DP's is the 14th and this one is due the 8th. Although DD1's EDD was 4th August, if this one could come 15 days early as well I would be v happy. I have decided 1st July would be ideal a week early will do me fine, pity you can't choose though.

welcome umlellala

Well we bought a new car today, one that will fit 3 car seats across the back. Makes it all seem v real, it feels huge and I will be terrified to park it nevermind drive it. I officially have a Mumbus people carrier now!

ScottishSusan · 12/01/2008 16:25

Hi Guts!!

Think of you often hippo!! Got everything crossedxx

Funny reading the date thing... My due date is 18th July same due date as ds number 3 (now 10) but he was born the 12th and our anniversary is the 20th...weird how that seems to happen in families.

Kitty - you'll get used to the car. We got 7 seater before we had dd and my dh said that it would leave 1 seat free.... 2 years on we had ds and so car was full when we all went out. Now when this one arrives we wont be able to all go out together....NO we wont be buying aa minibus DS number 1 will be 16 soon and ds2 is nearly 14 and they rarely want to go out with us anyway so I'm sure we'll manage..ha!!

It is so cold today here and took ds and dd out for a walk... couldn't wait to get home... OMG sore nipples...argh!!

Want something really nice and really BIG for dinner but don't know what...also don't really want to cook as this is putting me right off....going to see if dh fancies treating me to take out.....

sweetkitty · 12/01/2008 16:30

ScottishSusan - I have resisted the 7 seater this one only has 5 but it feel huge as I have a Clio right now, suppose you are right I will get used to it, makes number 3's arrival seem more real IYSWIM. Can imagine 16yo and 14yo boys don't want to be seen in people carrier with their mum lol.

isaidno · 12/01/2008 16:34

We have to go look at cars. I am driving a yaris at the mo, so anything will be like a bus to me! Looking at scenic or xsara picasso as that seems to be what every other mother is driving!

Susan - if all your dc want to go out with you perhaps you could attach a buggy board to the back bumper?

sweetkitty · 12/01/2008 16:35

isaidno - we nearly got a Scenic ended up with a Focus CMAX, we will fit in really well at M&T, nursery or any P&C parking spaces it seems full of Mum buses.

ScottishSusan · 12/01/2008 16:55

Sorry for mistype! Should have said Hi Guys not hi guts.. should really read before posting xxxhee! hee!

EEC · 12/01/2008 19:56

Hello all. Still battling a cold, but feeling OK other than that. Also wearing maternity jeans (early term I hasten to add) today for the first time, and am soo much comfier... DH's jumper too. I think it's mine now - hope he doesn't mind. None of mine cover that attractive stretchy panel...

EEC · 12/01/2008 19:57

By the way, I think HI guts is just as appropriate!

Mummywannabe · 13/01/2008 09:04

Hi all and welcome to newbies!

Anyone else got throbbing boobs! Very painful especially at night. Can only fit in my maternity trousers now, have the grand sum of 2 pairs and 2 jumpers that fit, guess it make getting dressed easier, no time choosing what to wear.

sweetkitty · 13/01/2008 10:03

Morning all think I'm getting a cold too hope it's not too bad, aren't colds the pits especially when you are pregnant and can't take half of Boots?

No maternity clothes here I will resist until the last moment nothing feels that tight yet, weighed myself yesterday and have put on 2 lbs not too bad so far that's probably Christmas chocolate though. My belly button is starting to pop out as well whats that about so early?

Right better be off and get us all dressed

mcchesers · 13/01/2008 12:19

Hello folks..back from holidays and finally having brain function from jet lag..sort of.

Anyway Kitty, I've got a pair of mat jeans and jogging bottoms from old navy that just don't fit. What size are you and I can send them your way if you like? I've got one pair that I can wear now, my black cords, and another pair for later. I'm very fluffy and uncomfortable, ugh.

Still recovering from the cold I caught the week before Christmas that pretty much had me bed bound for the whole of my holidays. It was nice to see the family though, and with them, the sunny weather and cheap shopping..very hard to leave

How is everyone? Anyone else feeling more or less better? I swear I ate half of Texas.

isaidno · 13/01/2008 12:50

morning all - welcome back mcchesers!

mummywannabe - I still have throbbing boobies - not all the time but often - don't mind though I like them growing!

sweetkitty - sorry to hear you've got a cold, take some paracetamol and lie about like a man!

All is fine here. I borrowed a book called "what's in your tummy mummy?" from the library and it is now the dc fave reading book! I think DS1 will have memorised it by July. He told me not to do any handstands in case the baby fell down to my neck, so he obviously think it is floating about loose!

paulaplumpbottom · 13/01/2008 14:22

I felt my baby move. I was in bed last night and I felt it move. Quite a bit actually. I was suprised because I thought it would be a couple more weeks!

Sorry you aren,t feeling well SweetKitty. Pregnancy is hard enough without adding sickness to it. Hope you feel better soon

jocesar · 13/01/2008 15:22

Hello- I'm new on here. going to have my first on July 8th. Am 34yo and have never touched a baby- not the maternal type. But I am getting more and more excited to have one of my own. I'm 15'0 today. Had horrible all day nausea but this is starting to get better but have been a total insomniac for the last 15 weeks- it's driving me insane- especially as I work long hours running my own veterinary practice.

went to the Fetal Med Centre in Harley St for the bloods and scan at 13wks- would recommend to anyone- for £150 you get a fantastic scan- gave me far more confidence than the NHS sonographer- and we're having a baby boy!

Have enjoyed reading all your posts- it's reassuring to know that we all have similar worries!
