EEC · 10/01/2008 08:19

Morning all. Good news about scans. Have most of us had them now? Hope so.

Still full of cold here so feeling grim - as for blooming, what a joke. I didn't with either of the other two, so I'm not hopeful this time. Spots (very painful one on lip at the moment and I never get them when not pregnant), terrible hair, pasty ... Only good thing is extra cup size! Gone from A to B at the moment which suits me fine. Pre 1st preg was a respectable B, last time ended up a D, then shrunk to an A afterwards. They'll disappear if I shrink any more after this one!

isaidno · 10/01/2008 09:25

I feel knackered today, it's windy and cold, and I don't know what to do with myself.

Bah!

I suppose I don't look too bad though .. not exactly a bloom, but I look generally healthy and my boobs are a b cup, instead of a droopy a cup! Got up to a C the last 2 times.

Hello everyone - is there anyone still waiting for a scan?

Jodiew79 · 10/01/2008 09:42

Morning guys,

My boobs are starting to grow too, now feeling a bit tingly! and my nipples are getting bigger (sorry if TMI) I went from a 34B to a 36DD last time, so we'll see! It was quite nice to have a 'shape!'

My spots are also coming out in force, and I've got a cold, my hair is also crap, I look stunning! I bet Nicole Kidman's not having these problems!!!!!

As for being an emotional wreck, did anyone see After Thomas on Sunday afternoon? I know it's been on before too, about a little boy with Aspergers and his parents get him a puppy (Thomas) OH MY GOD. I sobbed and sobbed, it was as if a close relitive had died or something. I was inconsolable!

Morning guys,

Well done on all the scans!

Am with EEC and isaidno on the boob benefits - have gone from an a to b cup too! :0 My DP thinks I'm a different person when he catches a (rare) glimpse of them!!

ScottishSusan it's always good to get things off your chest and have a rant with like-minded people! Hope you're feeling better today.

Minkus · 10/01/2008 11:04

Hello all

Glad everones scans are coming through nice and positively!

Hurrah on the boob front, mine have gone from a 40d to a 38E (lost weight hence the measurement has reduced) and actually look a bit perkier! The last time they looked remotely perky was just after having ds when my milk came in, dread to think what size they went up to. Before that and ever since they have just looked like long socks with oranges in the end , can roll them up and tuck them into my bra (same with tummy, can fold it into my knickers haha!)

Franny are your nipples itchy and scaly too like mine and isaidno's or just hurting- reminded me of when you first start getting little boobs during puberty- ouch.

Starting to get uncomfortable sleeping on my tummy at night now, so guess I must have a baby bump at last!

Jodiew79 · 10/01/2008 11:23

Oh my god, my friend (who's 32 weeks) has just sent me her 4d scan images... How amazing! I've never seen one before.. I gotta get myself one of those!

Sorry, just got excited.....

Thepuddingchef · 10/01/2008 11:35

we got a 4d scan with ds.....they are truly amazing...you see them moving , blowing bubbles, sucking fingers/feet, and its so clear.
You can get a dvd of all of this too.
well worth the money in my opinion.

lazyhippo · 10/01/2008 11:35

Hi Girls
Am feeling a bit bad as I haven't posted anything for ages- since before the holidays. I've been lurking for the last few days, and not sure whether to post this or not. I'm really sorry if its not the right place.
We've had a bit of a rollercoaster of a week. I started bleeding heavily last thursday, and after passing a "golfball" was convinced I'd miscarried. Our EPAU have been fantastic, and I was scanned that evening. Much to our amazement we saw a 12 week baby with a heartbeat moving around. However they also saw a large subchorionic haematoma or blood clot next to the baby. This means that theres still a significant risk of micarriage if my body tries to expell the clot. I was admitted again on Saturday with severe pain needing morphine, but they got a heartbeat with a doppler so Bean is still hanging on, and home since Sunday- able to use paracetamol + dihydrocodeine when it recurs. The bleeding is only light now, and we've a scan booked for next tuesday, so keeping everything crossed.
We're trying to keep positive, but its hard not being able to get excited by this stage in the pregnancy.
I hope its ok posting this on the July site, and that nobody minds. Its actually been helpful just writing this out in black and white. Thank you! x

Jodiew79 · 10/01/2008 11:38

Poor you LazyHippo ... here's a big hug for you.. Sounds like baby is a fighter though, so keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you and your bump...

JODIEhavingababy · 10/01/2008 12:24

Just changed my name, wanted to see if it worked

Thepuddingchef · 10/01/2008 12:57

Oh lazyhippo ....I hope everything works out for you, I can only begin to imagine what your going thro. It good that your hospital are being great, there are so many which arn't at the minute.
fingers crossed.x

sweetkitty · 10/01/2008 15:36

Afternoon all from a very very wet Scotland (will it ever stop raining?)

lazyhippo - you poor thing but sounds like you have such a little fighter in there, wishing you the best of luck and of course keep posting in here

Jodie - we got a 4D scan of DD2 as well, brilliant, I will have to get myself sorted and post some pics you can actually see she looks like her newborn self a bit in it (distinctive little nose)

Anyway nothing much else to report, think my appetite is returning a little.

ScottishSusan · 10/01/2008 15:56

Hi All

Thinking of you Lazyhippo - fingers crossed!!

Feeling a bit calmer today and less grumpy - what was I like yesterday? Sorry!

Today I woke up with HUGE ITCHY boobs - sure they were not like that when I went to bed. Also the trousers I wore yesterday are cutting me in half today... think all those emotions yesterday were down to bby growing

Do you all want to know the sex of your babies? I have found out every time except the first time and I want to know again. DH is convinced it's another boy and I have a feeling it is as well.. that will mean dd will have 3 older brothers and 2 younger ones - what's the chances of her ever getting a boyfriend... they will be so protective of her. Dh says she'll be the oldest virgin in the village....poor thing!

Do any of you have feelings about the sex of baby?

Minkus · 10/01/2008 16:07

Oh lazyhippo what a terrible time for you- fingers crossed everything works out well and the little bean hangs on.

Minkus · 10/01/2008 16:12

ScottishSusan- for your poor daughter if its another boy! Your dh is probably right, the only chaps she's ever going to be able to date are secret ones

Re: finding out sex, ds was a surprise and we're going to have this one as a surprise too. It was lovely! But have a feeling its a boy again- which would be fab cos I can't bear to think of all ds's cute little outfits never getting worn again- simply because this is quite a similar pregnancy.

Although if it was a girl I would be equally as pleased as would get to indulge in some frills and hairbobbles

Like the new name Jodie!

pigleychez · 10/01/2008 16:15

Hi all,

Lazy hippo- thinking of you!

Had shit day at work! Cant wait till my maternity leave starts! Id love to start it tomorrow!
Seem to be getting all the rubbish shifts with long days. Boss has been trying for years to get pregnant and think she is annoyed that im pregnant. I completely understand that she'd feel envious as i would be but you think shed be more sympathic rather than putting more and more on me.
Had horrible backache too which hasnt helped my mood.

Rant over!! - Sorry!

ScottishSusan- We have decided not to find out but i have a feeling its a boy. I keep saying HE and find it much easier to think of boys names i like but havent found any girls names i really like.

MissChika · 10/01/2008 16:21

Lazyhippo, can't begin to understand what you're going through at the moment. Got everything crossed for you.

I don't want to know the sex of the baby - maybe I will with the second (if we get that far!). DP reckons he's going to find out though - not sure if the hospital will do that?!

MissChika · 10/01/2008 16:24

Pigleychez know exactly what you mean about girls names - I just can't think of any I like!

A few people have told me they think I'll have a girl but we're very boy heavy in our family. All my siblings' first-borns are boys. Does anyone know whether there is any pattern with this??

EEC · 10/01/2008 16:33

Have no idea whether boy or girl - and not planning to find out, but saw 4 magpies today so of course it's a boy! I'm other way round. Can't think of any boys names, lots of girls.

All the best lazyhippo. Thinking of you you poor thing.

isaidno · 10/01/2008 16:36

Hugs to lazyhippo xx

SS - re sex of baby - last 2 pgs we had a surprise (both boys) and this time we have agreed to find out at the next scan. I would really like a girl this time....pink, pink, pink!

The nursery needs redecorating because it is tatty, and I have loads of baby clothes in the loft. So IF it is a girl I will be able to get everything sorted!

And if it's a boy, I will have time to get over the fact he won't want to wear frilly frocks (unless he turns out gay ... )
