Morning To all you lovley mummies,

How is everyone today? Anyone had anything more than a twinge, I got excited because got tinges last night but nothing, tut. My DH made me eat another curry last night he made it himself and I know he put extra chillis in it etc, I never knew that I could sweat underneath my eyeballs lol. I havnt got a birthing ball but at this rate I may go and get one is it the same as one of those exercise balls or are they different? hope everyone is well! had another sleepless night last night I am actually considering setting up camp in the toilet with the amount of time I spend in there ronnie

AngeChica · 25/01/2008 09:48

Good morning all fellow overdue ladies... Just had an extremely bracing dog walk - it's blowing a right old gale up here. In fact the wind in the chimney kept me awake half the night. Off for my post mature

Been lurking on the postnatal thread and love the Ben video Naetha . But - am determined not to post on it until I am eligible!!

AngeChica · 25/01/2008 09:51

...post mature appointment at the hospital, that should have read.

My ball was 4.99 from Argos, ronnie. I've kind of given up on it now though, but will hopefully take it in to delivery suite with me.

scaryhairycat · 25/01/2008 09:52

ayrshirelolo - my dh is doing that too! The other day he kept ringing me from work every hour to ask 'are you ok?' 'any twinglings?'. God know why as I haven't had any signs at all yet! What's so funny is he is so not like that normally! Oh well, at least he cares, keeps looking at my bump and saying 'this time next week I might be in love all over again!' (soppy git!)

scaryhairycat · 25/01/2008 09:55

Snap AngeChica! Mine's a silver one!

ayrshirelolo · 25/01/2008 10:05

Morning! Just checked my mobile and think we have some news from Mrs McJ..... but don't want to steal her thunder and tell you the details ! !!Anyway will pop back for a daily whinge later!!! (and yes, i have that big silver Reebok excercise ball too... last time i found it useful post birth for making the excercises slightly less boring... and my toddler loves it!!)

ladylush · 25/01/2008 11:50

Oi! Don't keep us in suspense ayrshireloo

AngeChica · 25/01/2008 12:58

Ooh I wondered what was going on there as she hadn't been on yesterday!

Just home from hospital appointment. They did an ultrasound and apparently I have quite a lot of amniotic fluid which is why the consultant thinks the head won't engage, but they checked the baby and all looked fine. It also means the baby isnt the monster I was anticipating. So that was really reassuring.

If my waters break I have to go straight in though, otherwise it's Saturday night as planned. However he doesn't want them to put the prostin in until the morning so that there is a consultant on duty! But I will lose my slot if I don't go in, so I get a night in hospital for nothing .

MrsBiscuit · 25/01/2008 13:16

I've got the silver Argos ball too . Sitting on it now in fact.

Kept waking up last night with a tight stomach and wiggling LO, convinced that I was having early stage contractions but now I think I was just suffering from an overactive imagination. .

Saw the MW this morning but there were no rooms available for examining me, so I was seen to in the waiting room . Even though it was empty at the time, I wasn't particularly happy at the thought of people wandering in, and not surprised that my blood pressure was up. Baby's slowly getting engaged and now at 3/5.

Just been for a walk to try and get things going but no joy yet.

Good luck tomorrow Angechica.

madmouse · 25/01/2008 15:07

Hi all

News from MrsMcJr? Can't wait

Pussycatmomma, I have not jumped the queue yet, still here , although starting to wonder how many weeks pre-labour will be a world record . Anything involving standing up and walking is a permanent B-H, sometimes with sometimes without pain, get B-H lying down in bed now, and sitting down too. The only thing keeping me sane is the fact that my SPD has cleared up so much that I can walk again without serious pain. Lots of people are praying for this baby, so I hope he will come soon now, I am waiting for him!!

So, MrsBiscuit, I don't think it was your imagination, you just had what I am having. Hope yours gets a move on tho! .

Angechica, happy about some perspective on the size of your lo. That must make you feel better about the birth. Bizar that you have to spend a night in hossie for nothing otherwise you lose your 'slot' .

Peckers up everyone, we will all have our little ones real soon.

AngeChica · 25/01/2008 17:54

Quiet in here ............................. (echo) ..........

ronnielane · 25/01/2008 18:05

It is very quiet today Naetha fault, reakon everyone has gone ona marathon since her post this morning, saying about strenuous walking bringing on labour

Is it still very windy where you are AngeChica

lilyloo · 25/01/2008 18:44

Well done to all ladies who have popped and hope to see more of you soon , sounds promising for Mrs Mc

BeckyAu · 25/01/2008 20:17

Hello ladies

Just popping in to say... finally, 11 days late, little Lucy has arrived! 8lb 6oz and all over and done with from half past midnight when I had vague labour pains, to 9.23am when she was born. All very exciting and exhausting and amazing... Do people like to read birth stories and if so where do I put them?

For those of you still waiting, I tried all the old wives tales going - the night before the birth I did 15 mins ith a breast pump on each nipple. I have no idea whether she was going to arrive anyway but perhps this is what tipped the balance. So great to have had her and got home just at the time she was due to be induced. So for all of you still waiting - I totally sympathise and am willing all good things to come to you all. Hang on in there xxx

madmouse · 25/01/2008 20:43

Becky - yay, brilliant . Wondered where you were. Congratulations. So much for your mw's doom mongering about tough labour (well maybe it was tough, but not the length you expect from a back to back labour). You can post your birth story here, to keep us happy , or in the birth announcements department. Would love to hear it.

Have not followed Naetha and gone for a marathon, but have just finished cleaning bathroom, toilet and kitchen including floor on hands and knees, plus eating half a pineapple. Keep hoping!

ayrshirelolo · 25/01/2008 21:55

Congratulations Becky!!! and Lucy is a lovely name!! would love to read your birth stort, if you don't post it here let us know where to read it!!
Well i've not had the best of days, just feeling really washed out, miserable, grumpy, weepy, tired, sore, sick, poor dh!!he's put up with me all day and looked after dd who's been in a weird clingy mood all day too!! I think he might be pleased to get today over with, poor darling!
My mum was nice on the phone earlier though, said she remembered what it was like to feel like you've been pregnant for EVER and the baby will never arrive... then i reminded her that this could go on for another 3 weeks !!!
Hiya madmouse, thought you might have hatched too! and sorry i can't tell you much about MrsMcJ, don't know details really anyway, i'm sure she'd like to tell you all herself!
Angechica hope everything goes ok for you, and that labour is easy and relatively pain free!
Love to everyone, and i suppose we can't be pregnant for ever... eventually they have to be born some how!!! Keep bouncing everyone!!! lolo x

ayrshirelolo · 25/01/2008 21:55

Forgot to say.... no sign of fluffy for the last couple of days.... any one any news??

AngeChica · 25/01/2008 22:23

Well done Becky that sounds quite good going for a first timer...!?

Mum here tomorrow ... am mighty glad she will be staying on for a couple of weeks.

Y'know what, if I end up with syntocinon drip I'm gonna demand an epidural, sod the birth plan!

Back in a few days and lots of love and luck to all still witing xx

fluffymummy · 25/01/2008 23:23

No news from here just been mad busy with v ill DS and stuff, catch up tomorrow xx

MrsBiscuit · 26/01/2008 08:11

Becky, please post your story... on this board would be fine! I'm now inspired to give up on the pineapple and start on nipple tweaking/breast pumping instead . And another long walk.

So who's left? Lolo, Fluffy, MM, Ronnie, Scaryhairycat (and Angechica but not for long ).... Nicky6 - any news?

scaryhairycat · 26/01/2008 09:14

Morning girls and CONGRATULATIONS to BeckyAu!
Went out yesterday to the shops and got myself a stack of rl tea, which I have been slurping like it's going out of fashion! It's funny but I have noticed quite a few shooting twinges up my nethers (sorry!) and some mild bh/period pains here and there - probably due to walking quite a bit over the past couple of days.
Looking forward to finding out what's going on with MrsMcJnr, and fluffymummy - I hope your ds gets better soon, it's horrible when they are ill.
Sending labour vibes to you madmouse, ayrshirelolo and everyone else who needs them! xx

lilyloo · 26/01/2008 12:53

Birth story here if anyone wants to read it

katyt1 · 26/01/2008 13:36

Congrats to becky from me too

Not sure about this so hope it works, birth story here if anyone wants to read it - too long sorry!

labour vibes ladies, still watching out for you all

madmouse · 26/01/2008 16:47

Hi all

Still here too, not hatched yet. Had yet another uncomfortable night with mild contractions going nowhere. This morning had a huge show of jelly but no blood, unmistakable though, never seen anything like it. Good thing I had a plan for the day (retreat for clergy wives in training) or I would have been mad by now waiting for contractions! Have to keep reminding myself that I am not actually due until Wed, so feel sorry for those who are overdue, must be horrid.

Good luck Angechica, you will have a beautiful baby soon.

Right, off to read Becky's story.

Take care, fellow survivors of the January thread!
