Sheds75 · 17/12/2007 10:40

I'm a project manager for a Traffic technology company, not the most exciting job in the world!!! would like to say it will pay the bills, but I changed jobs then found out I was 6 weeks PG (fshock] so don't even get SMP..... I guess I'd best start filling in the MA1 Forms

Sheds75 · 17/12/2007 10:44

Ooops meant

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 17/12/2007 11:16

I've got a horrid cold. Stupid DP gave it to me - he took 2 days off with it last week but I can't cos I'm too busy at work. Bah.

I am also today.am trying to buy an ipod online, my balance slip says i have enough money, so i rang the bank pouting at them, apparently i have something for £7 coming out and thats why my card wont work. i have already been to the bank today, luckily my mum is going in town and is putting a tenner in there for me! .

today lunch will be egg sarnie, carrot sticks, smotthie and crisps.

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 17/12/2007 11:34

Sheds - can they deny you SMP if you changed jobs, then found out you were pregnant? It´s not as though you deceived them ... or is it Ellie - sorry to hear about your cold. Scorpio - hope you get that ipod.

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 17/12/2007 11:35

I have a wonderful colleague who does Thai massage so she´s going to free my trapped nerve at lunch time - can´t wait

Sheds75 · 17/12/2007 11:58

Santa: work are actually been really good about it, but legally all they have to do is give me a upto a year off! the Government pay me the same money as SMP it just doesn't go through work. deffinatley wasn't decieving them, it was a HUGE shock, but a brilliant one

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 17/12/2007 12:09

Forgot to say I Am A Bad Step-Mummy.

Me an' DSD were play fighting on the sofa last night, just mucking around as you do. I kicked her too hard on the leg by accident and she cried. I am an evil bad nasty child abusing person. AND should know better than playing silly will-all-end-in-tears games like that as am social worker. Have felt horribly guilty since even though she was fine in about 2 seconds and couldn't have cared less and there was nothing wrong with her.

I feel bad

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 17/12/2007 12:28

Sheds - that´s alright then. Sam was planned but still a shock when I got that BFP Ellie - repeat after me "I am not a bad step-mummy, I am not a bad step-mummy" Like you said, she was fine after 2 seconds.

scorpio1 · 17/12/2007 12:32

Ellie, you are not a bad step mummy.

dp play fights with ours alot and more often than not in ends in tears, i think it does for many people! so its not just you!

its nice that you were playing with her IMO.

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 17/12/2007 12:42

Thank you.

Feel a bit better now

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 17/12/2007 12:57

Lol Ellie, dp always throws bobby around all over the place, and the other day we were sat having dinner when I noticed these huge griplike marks on his arms. It was obviously where they ahd been playing earlier on, but he hadn't cried or anything, just laughed!
DP felt terrible, but Bobby was fine and didnt give two hoots.

Hi All

Had my scan today and all is well with my boy although he wouldnt show his face so she switched to 3d i didnt know the NHS machines had such a thing so I saw him in 3d he moved his hand and I saw his whole face although DH couldnt come as was too busy at work and I got pulled over by the police as I answered my phone!

Sheds75 · 17/12/2007 13:51

TLSM, that is brilliant news about the scan, not so good about the police...

I agree that Pampers smell really bad once they get wet -- we mostly used cloth with DS, but if we had to use disposables at any point I went for anything other than Pampers (chiefly Nature Baby or Tushies, but Huggies if I had to use one of the big two).

BiancaP · 17/12/2007 15:05

Hi there everyone - new to Mumsnet so thought I would jump in and say hello! Having my 1st baby who is due 29 April and very excited! Live in Orpington, Kent and longing to meet other mums to be who are in the area. Really hoped I would be doing that at my anti natal classes but it turns out it is just one class!! Anyhoo - hope you are all having a good Monday - roll on Friday!!

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 17/12/2007 15:07

TLSM - how lovely for you.
My massage was nice, unfortunately the nerve isn't going to budge so she's going to consult her books to see if she can find other pressure points for trapped nerves!

SantasNotSoLittleHelper · 17/12/2007 15:20

Welcome BiancaP - I finish work on Thursday for 2 whole weeks - can´t wait Anyway gotta tidy up now, getting the bus home tonight so DS a happy bunny See you all tomorrow.

BiancaP · 17/12/2007 15:23
