Hello

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 08/01/2008 12:37

It's my birthday tomorrow btw, I expect lots of virtual cake

ScamparumpapumpMum · 08/01/2008 12:58

Good - we've been far too restrained on the food porn lately (semen doesn't count!). I am feeling very virtuous having just eaten salmon, new pots and a huge pile of spinach for lunch. Did have large hot choc, wholemeal bagel with peanut butter and an OJ for breakfast, though.

VS, what kind of cake do you like? I'll get virtual baking (with any luck in this world I can actually make a cake that's more than 1cm deep). Are you into carrot cake? Chocolate brownies?

VictorianSqualor · 08/01/2008 13:02

I love all cake, except banoffee.
I love brownies, and carrot cake and jamaican ginger cake and chocolate fudge cake and lemon madeira and angel cake and and and .....

ScamparumpapumpMum · 08/01/2008 13:02

And I LOVE the idea of Molly and Suze sizing each other up at their first NCT! My DH was reluctant at first (and ours was VERY couply couply, was a good thing we'd got married three days before the first meeting as otherwise we would have been the Heathen Unmarrieds), but it actually ended up being me he had to drag every week as I was SO knackered (it was 8-10 on a Weds) her front room was SO hot, she was SO annoying and I knew everything from my extensive internet research (on my own time, naturally, never at work...) anyway!

I think that was just my class, though - there tends to be a massive variety. And in SW6 you might have lots of lawyers, bankers (not to indulge in postcode stereotyping or anything ) etc. who have to work late/weekends and miss it.

SuzeM · 08/01/2008 13:05

ScamparumpapumpMum: I can see him going once and never again!

ScamparumpapumpMum · 08/01/2008 13:07

OK, it's a tall order but there are a lot of us. And DD has handily got very into cleaning so she can sort all the virtual mess!

Where is our bride-to-be today?

and Happy New Year Soph!

ScamparumpapumpMum · 08/01/2008 13:11

Sorry, that is a handful to type - will change my name back! My DH really likes one of the guys and would see him more often, but is really meh about the rest of them (they're not as 'cool' as he is - where's the 'yawn' emoticon? ), which I think tempered his enthusiasm. The girls were an absolute godsend to me, though, and I genuinely don't know what I would have done without them. Probably gone mad.

VictorianSqualor · 08/01/2008 13:11

Talking of our bride-to-be

Mollyfloss · 08/01/2008 13:17

ha ha, some of my cousins were having a right giggle at the thought of me attending my NCT classes in SW with all the Kensington crowd... it should be interesting SuzeM, if we're at the same NCT class I should be easy to spot. I'll be the Irish one who hasn't got a clue asking daft questions

Sheds75 · 08/01/2008 13:17

VS I like that!

I got some good news the other day, because I have moved and am going to a new GP/Midwife and Hospital I get another Scan. so Now I get to see my little man again in 3 weeks (24/01)how exciting

northeastmummy · 08/01/2008 13:18

Hi everyone! I got myself into a cycle of trying to catch up on all the messages before posting again, and found I was just never posting so have decided to give up on that. So I've missed LOADS of news.

Anyway, properly back at work now so I'm sure I'll find much more time for chatting .

northeastmummy · 08/01/2008 13:22

Oh, and I forgot my news. We had our gender scan at the weekend and we're having a baby sister for Millie. Can't wait to use all her lovely things again !!

VictorianSqualor · 08/01/2008 13:24

Awww, congrats, when our wonderfully talented list creator adds the new peopel onto our list for the next thread she can add your LO flavour

Scampmum · 08/01/2008 13:26

Congrats - another girl! I am really impatient to find out (at the birth). We've sort of let slip our names now, though (back on Walter for boy) so if we were to find out the sex there would be nothing to announce - could get away with a quick text saying 'he/she's here!'.

Mollyfloss · 08/01/2008 13:34

Congrats northeastmummy!!! Have you thought of a name?

Soph73 · 08/01/2008 13:47

Congrats NEM

sagitta · 08/01/2008 13:50

Congrats NEM, amd welcome back - and to you too, Soph. Hope you had good Christmases etc?

Is Scorpio's hen-day today?

Scampmum · 08/01/2008 14:33

no, we're just warming up. We could have a hen period.

Forgot to mention I am putting on 2lb a week at the mo. It's either Christmas catching up with me or the fact I'm carrying at least three pounds of snot in my head (gradual accumulation).

EllieG · 08/01/2008 14:41

No the hen day is the 11th but we can warm up!

I am confused with 2 threads running concurrently. Since this one has nearly a 1000 I am going over to the next one. See y'all there!

Oh and fab news nem! Another girl to add to the collection here!

Soph73 · 08/01/2008 14:44

Have just found out that my colleague who´s expecting in June is having a little girl. They´re going to call her Fleur, which I think is a gorgeous name. Lots of girls for 2008.

TLSM · 08/01/2008 14:48

Welcome back NEM and Soph Congrates NEM a pink one!

Really busy at work at the mo so not as much posting best get back to it!

Soph73 · 08/01/2008 15:23

Hi TLSM. It was a HUGE shock when the alarm went off at 6am - I thought I was going to scream as have been pampered for 2 wks and haven´t had to do a thing. I hate work

northeastmummy · 08/01/2008 15:37

Awwww - thank you everyone . I absolutely understand how personal it is whether you find out gender beforehand but it just really works for me. It all feels so much more real now - and I definitely feel like I can focus a bit better on names.

Saying that, we haven't come up with anything definite yet - in fact we haven't even really got a short list. We're just throwing ideas around for now. I like Fleur though - that's so lovely!

My Dad and half brother are called Walter Scamp. I was always a bit embarrased about the name when I was little but mainly because my brother (who's about 25 years older than me) gets called Wally!!! We did fancy Walter as an option if we were having a boy though - I like it when it's shortened to Walt better though.

I'm going to update my profile again and hopefully add some pics. I've completely failed to get any photos of me lately though!!

northeastmummy · 08/01/2008 15:53

Oh - just had a lovely surprise. My profile details all came back when I changed my name back! That saves a bit of work.
