Thought I'd make a thread for us ladies who have been through IVF & finally graduated ❤️ would be lovely to have some company from people who "get it"

@Prema112 have you had your bump measured previously? My midwife said they don't start to do it until 28 weeks now so I've got my 28 week appointment tomorrow morning & looking forward to seeing bump measurement. Although I've heard they can be inaccurate 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'll be 29+3 tomorrow so feels a bit delayed but she needed a clear week from my anti D injection so she can get some bloods that aren't skewed!

I do have trouble sleeping sometimes, baby's favourite time seems to be around 4am which is not ideal! Sometimes I try to go back to sleep but can't always so I do sympathise.

Oh god really? What deodorant do you use? I haven't even looked at all this type of stuff 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Etonmess20 How was your midwife appointment?? I haven't had any measurements yet, I'm still worried he is small so looking forward to hopefully a normal measurement. I will also have my anti D and whooping cough injections 💉

I'm wondering if changing deodorant is going overboard, it may be a little late now anyway?!

@Prema112 it was alright thank you, didn't see the same midwife as last time which was a shame because we liked her but there we go! Midwife did measure my bump but didn't record it because she said baby's growth was normal in last weeks scan & that's more accurate anyway (although she did say the measurement was normal)
Do you have any extra scans?

It's entirely upto you I guess, if you're just going to worry about it now then maybe change. This is why I don't look into some things, ignorance is bliss sometimes 😂

@Etonmess20 That's great it went well Smile I don't have any more scans unless they think I need one, we shall see next Wednesday, I definitely dont want them to say I need a growth scan but I also wouldn't mind see bubs again!

@Etonmess20
Im good thanks & I hope you & @Prema112 are too?
Thanks for tip re deodorant Prema, Ive checked mine & its okay although Ive changed my face cream due to retinol.
All good with me, we went to an antenatal class for twins last Sat, it was all day & great, I feel so much more confident. Didnt learn a vast amount more but it helps to practice things on plastic dolls! Hopefully made some new friends too. Sunday we went to the Baby Show, I wasnt expecting much but it was fab, I got so many discounts. Bought car seats (even though we dont have a car)! All of my bottles & pump from the mam stand & they had midwives you could chat to.
Today Im having my pregnancy massage, just in relaxation lounge chilling, its bliss. Work has been mental so this is a needed break.
Have either of you watched This is going to hurt? Its on BBC, very unrealistic but still quite good to watch, follows a doctor around a labour ward.
Im 24 weeks this week & I feel good :)
Great news that your growth scan is normal Eton, do they give you a percentile too?
You are so close now! When will you start your mat leave?

@Prema112 did you have a natural birth for your first if you dont mind me asking? Im most likely having c-section but Ive told them if its possible I would like natural. Any tips if I do? Im doing pelvic floor exercises & thats about it!

I hope you’re both well & babies are good xx

@GingerBrummie @Etonmess20 Hi ladies! I'm good thanks, had 28 week midwife appointment yesterday and they sent me to triage to monitored the baby's heart for an hour due to a change in movements, basically baby has been doing this weird spasming thing which I mentioned to the midwife who immediately said any change in movements needs monitoring. They seemed happy with the heartbeat so that's a relief.

Other than that I'm just exhausted. Really struggling to do a good job at work, I've been wfh more and I literally can't not have a nap every day. I'm getting up 3 times in the night for a wee now so sleep isn't great

Ginger you sound like you've been busy! Pleased to hear you're feeling good and definitely a good idea to buy bits while you feel up to it! And the massage sounds amazing!! I need to book one! Did they have a cut out for your bump?!

I'm starting to think I should buy something, even if it's just some nipple cream 😂 Also wondering about doing some kind of antenatal course online. I did NCT last time but that was a while ago, it would probs be good to do a refresher.

I haven't watched this is going to hurt, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea with labour looming! Ginger, I did have a natural birth last time. Unfortunately he did a poo in the waters so I was on constant monitoring, couldn't get up and walk around and had to be in labour ward instead of birth centre, but it was a fairly good birth compared to other stories I've heard. It was only 3 hours so I need to get to hospital quick this time!

Hope you are well too Eton! Xx

Hi @Prema112 and @Etonmess20

The sun is out at last, I think its great we will have our babies in the summer, my mood is always lifted when the sun makes an appearance.

Prem, sorry to hear about being in hospital but great that they kept you monitored & everything is okay now. Sounds like you need a rest, are you on your feet for your job? Can you take time off over Easter, apparently we’re meant to have a heatwave in April!
3hr labour sounds good. My consultant has now agreed that if both heads are down & babies are stable then I can try for a natural birth. Of course, anything can happen between now & then but good to know its possible.
Massage was amazing, go for it! I was on a bed that was slightly raised and the back piece was a warm water bed, absolute heaven! I never turned onto my front, somehow she manager to get under the water bed thingy & massage my back.

The nursery is almost complete, Im using my Easter holiday to wash all baby clothes & batch cook some meals & hospital bag is st the ready. Im only 25 weeks but Im so conscious that Im high risk so dont need any extra stress! Have either of you bought nappies yet! Apparently Aldi are super cheap & comparable to Pampers.

I hope you’re both well?

Hi @GingerBrummie & @Etonmess20 Happy sunny weekend!! I hope you are both well and have had a good week? I'm on week 30 now and it suddenly feels like I don't have long! I'm looking forward to getting out the baby stuff at my parents over the Easter weekend 💗

We've had a bit of a week, my son had a fever sore neck and rash so we spent most of Tuesday evening in a&e checking for meningitis. Thankfully it wasn't and he's back to his happy self now but it was so stressful and the waiting room was FULL so I'm worried I've picked something up now! We also bought a car on Monday last week so had lots of car admin, it's been a busy week! Car is so great though it's got air conditioning which is so exciting as our previous one didn't.

Really looking forward to a week off work after next week, we will be up in Yorkshire at the in laws and I'm hoping for a super chilled week!

Any fun Easter plans? Xx

Morning @Prema112 and @Etonmess20

I hope you are both doing well? 🌞

@Prema112 great news on the car, and glad your son is better, I hope you didn't pick anything up in the hospital, I try to avoid them if I can!! How was your week off? I went to York at Christmas, beautiful city. Have you walked the Yorkshire Moors before? I want to, I enjoy a good hike.

You and Eton are so close to the end! I am starting to panic that I only have about 9 weeks left! Ive still no idea whether it will be c-section or natural, or how early they may be so just taking it scan by scan. So far so good, they both tend to be head down so we’ll see.

I struggle to breath, always getting short of breath & my bump is huge. I dont know how you can be pregnant with a toddler Prema? Can you pick him up?

Eton, not long for you now either? I hope you’re taking it easy & enjoying the last trimester. I already feel quite sad it might be over soon, people definitely make you feel special when you’re pregnant.

I hope you have nice plans this w/e & for Easter? I had this week off & tbh, it was horrible, things were just going wrong & I panicked that I was going into labour (I wasnt) & nothing was ready! Just nerves I think. Im planning on having a better Easter!

Take care xxx

@GingerBrummie @Prema112 hi ladies, sorry for being so unchatty, the weeks seem to have flown by in a haze of work & baby stuff!
I'm 36w tomorrow & had my final growth scan yesterday - baby was measuring 7lb & on 90th line (another change in line from around 85th c3.5 weeks ago!) hoping not to get referred for another diabetes test 🙏🏼Sonographer was so nice & told us baby has loads of hair, chubby cheeks then showed them yawning & holding their foot in their hand. Probably one of my favourite scans yet! I am mildly concerned by how big they are though, seems they've potentially still got 4 more weeks of growth!
Consultant today who we're hoping gives us an eviction date (midwife said he likes to induce which is fine with me!)
In other news, nursery is ready, hospital bags packed, pram built....just need a baby now!

How are you both doing? We're all on the final stretch now - so exciting!!

@Etonmess20 You're so close!!! You sound like you've been very organised! And your scan sounds amazing, so lovely to know little details about baby! Have you finished work?

@GingerBrummie I can imagine your bump is quite big! Luckily my boy is 5 so I don't need to pick him up, although it does make me a little sad that I can't sometimes
Sorry to hear you were a bit panicked on your week off, hope Easter was better?

Easter was nice for us but v tired seeing lots of family, I'm so glad I'm not going anywhere else before the birth now. Baby was a bit quiet last week and I almost went to get checked but he was moving just enough to reassure me. Ginger it must be so hard to monitor 2 of them! Can you tell when it's just one moving or both? I guess weekly scans help. I have a growth scan tmw and they will also check position as I'm pretty sure he is still chilling out sideways.

Braxton Hicks are increasing, quite uncomfortable. Are either of you doing hypnobirthing? I'd really recommend it. The positive birth company does an online course for about £40, I'm really enjoying it!

Hey @Etonmess20 and @Prema112

How are you both? Enjoying the bank hols I hope.

Eton, your baby weight is great, nothing like a nice healthy chubby baby :) I didnt realise they could see the hair on a scan?!
how many weeks now are you? 38wks?
So close! Very excited for you.

Prema: Im glad you’ve decided to stop doing stuff, concentrate on you now.
Thanks for tip on hypnobirthing, I wasnt going to but for the sake of £40 Im thinking I might as I keep seeing people talk about it. On my FB due group, people have started to have babies too, earliest was at 24 weeks & they are okay. Home stretch now.

My last day is Fri 6th, I cannot wait to start mat leave, naps, baths, chilling, cannot wait esp as work was quite stressful. I hope you have both started yours?
Prema, I can feel babies kicking, on left & on right side, Im fairly confident which baby kicks. Its my favourite part of day when they kick.
Strangely I only get Braxton Hicks at night, my belly goes really hard for a moment then relaxes, is that what you feel Prema?

Not sure if you both remember but at the beginning of this journey, I really struggled with IVF & I told no one. Of course having twins, I get quizzed all the time by questions, “do you have twins in the family”, I now feel totally relaxed & fine to say its probably because of IVF. Its so refreshing to tell people & I dont care! Just wanted to share with my fellow IVFers! Im proud of it! (well no longer ashamed at least!!) xxx

@GingerBrummie & @Etonmess20 How are you both?? Ginger congrats on finishing work, it feels soooo good doesn't it!! I've had a manic weekend as it was my sons birthday party, I'm shattered but it went well

Last night I had the worse calf cramp I've ever had, was hobbling around the bedroom moaning, awful! And today I can barely walk. To be honest I've been doing too much and my body is shouting at me to relax and rest so today I will, son & DH gone to church for the morning and I'm staying on bed!

@GingerBrummie How many weeks are you now? That's great you're not ashamed to say about IVF- well done! People comment a lot about the big age gap between our kids, I don't usually mention how much we struggled to conceive the 2nd and many people seem to think it was a great 'choice' to space them so wide! Pros and cons for all age gaps I think, I just pray they get on

Tell me your news! X

@Prema112 Sounds like your body is definitely telling you to slow down. Ive been having really bad leg cramps at night too, starting drinking tonic water daily as was told it was helped but then found out we shouldn't really have quinine!
Mat leave is great so far, Im 33 weeks, twins due 36 weeks but I really want to hold out to 37 weeks. I will asked to be induced & see what happens…
How many weeks are you now? Have you been relaxing?
@Etonmess20 I think your due date is tomorrow? If so, good luck!! I hope you are well & all the best for a positive birth X

@GingerBrummie I'm so excited for the birth of your twins too (not just yet tho!) So glad you've been enjoying time off ☺️ I'm loving being off too, successfully celebrated sons birthday and I'm 37 weeks not so baby can come any time. I'd like a week or 2 more to organise and relax... I wouldn't say I've really relaxed until today, had a swim and lunch with a friend. Tmw my mum is coming and Saturday we are taking our son to a local cat cafe so that should be fun!

Everyone chosen names?? We've got a first name and close to a middle name, it's been such a process!

Sorry not replied. You are very close! I hope you are feeling well & getting rest?
Im booked in for a C-section this Mon, Im in hospital now, as they just want to keep an eye on the littler one as my placenta is starting to give up.
Im not happy about c-section but super happy to meet the girls on Monday! I will be 35+5 which is good for MCDA twins (twins that share placenta) I cannot wait!
Hopefully @Etonmess20 is in post baby bliss now xx

@GingerBrummie Oh wow you're meeting them tomorrow!!! That is so exciting!! Sorry to hear you're in hospital and I know you wanted to try for a natural birth but good to hear you are being looked after well.

I'm ok thanks, been in and out of triage for reduced movements, then increased movements last night?! They keep offering induction which is becoming more appealing tbh but I'm holding off for now. Scan tmw to check cord and placenta so will see how that's looking

@Etonmess20 So so hope all is well with you and baby ❤️
