Thought I'd make a thread for us ladies who have been through IVF & finally graduated ❤️ would be lovely to have some company from people who "get it"

@Prema112 @Etonmess20
Congrats Prema, amazing news. Im very happy for you. Im sure you are in baby bliss heaven right now.
Our twin girls arrived safely on 1st June, so far they are superb, absolutely gorgeous but I am finding the night time feeds quite brutal!
i may disappear now as life leaves no time for messaging anymore sadly but wanted to say thanks to you both for sharing the journey & I wish you all the very best with your little ones ❤️❤️❤️

Prema112 · 16/06/2022 19:06

@GingerBrummie So so happy to hear from you and hear that your twin girls arrived safely ❤️❤️ I can imagine nights are brutal with 2, 1 is hard enough!! All the very best to you and @Etonmess20, thanks so much for sharing the pregnancy journey with me xx

Ps. Hope your bbq went well if you had it! Xx

@GingerBrummie @Etonmess20 I just thought of you both and this thread so thought I'd check in and see how you're doing! Ginger, how are your twins?? Have you settled into it a bit? Baby Jesse is fab, 6 months old, pretty terrible sleeper though 😴😵

Etonmess20 · 04/01/2023 15:48

@Prema112 @GingerBrummie ladies I'm SO sorry I went awol - something changed with Mumsnet & I tried to post multiple times but it wouldn't let me. Then I just completely forgot with life!
Our beautiful Felicity arrived just before her due date & is an absolute joy, she's crawling & generally everywhere now!

You'll never guess what as well....I'm 9 weeks pregnant....NATURALLY 😮 not TTC (but not preventing), all very much a surprise

How are you both?

@Etonmess20 Oh wow hello! I was really worried something horrible had happened, I'm so glad all is ok! That's so weird and annoying you couldn't post. Congratulations on Felicity! My sisters name, we called her Fifi ☺️ Jesse isn't crawling yet but I know the craziness is coming!! That's AMAZING you're pregnant! Many congrats again! I'm so glad you don't have to go through IVF to give Felicity a sibling. We've still got our embryo and it's a bit tricky as my husband doesn't want to use it and I do so we need to do some chatting and reach a decision...

Etonmess20 · 04/01/2023 19:01

@Prema112 I think there was a change on the app as I remember at the time loads of people were complaining about having problems & I kept meaning to try & sort it but never got round to it!
Oh that's lovely that it's your sisters name, we've had so many compliments on it! She's not got a nickname yet but there's a few options which is nice! Jesse is a beautiful name too!
If I'm entirely honest I can't get my head around it, we found out just before Christmas & I was already 6 weeks along so it's just been a whirlwind since then! I'm still exclusively pumping for Felicity so periods weren't super regular & given the issues we had conceiving before it just never really entered our heads.
Does your husband want to try naturally? Or no more babies?
DP & I had the conversation earlier about what we'll do with our remaining embryos (assuming everything goes ok with this baby). No need to decide now obviously but we're sure we only want one more baby so leaves lots of questions

Hi ladies!! @Prema112 & @Etonmess20
its Ginger but Ive changed username.

Great to hear from you Eton & Im so happy everything worked out. How was the birth? How are you enjoying motherhood? & massive congratulations on the new pregnancy. You have avoided so many injections! 😂

Its great to hear you are both well. Prema, how is your older son with the new baby? Hopefully you & your husband can agree on using the last embryo, perhaps when a bit of time has passed he will be up for another baby!

All very good here, my girls are gorgeous, they are so beautiful in every way, Im totally in love. They are 7 months now, we’ve just started weaning which is far too messy! We go to baby clubs which is nice too.

Prema, my girls sleep was horrific, on average I was getting 2hrs sleep per night however we used a sleep consultant & she was amazing, they now sleep through the night, 7-7! I can definitely recommend her however it follows the cry it out method which I know some parents dont like. It only lasts for a couple of days.

the first 4 months I found loooong!!! All that cluster feeding but now its much easier in comparison (still hard). How are you finding it?

xxx

Prema112 · 05/01/2023 20:45

@Etonmess20 That happened to another friend of mine, had fertility treatment for the first then assumed they wouldnt conceive naturally and now pregnant naturally, babies will be 16 months apart! I guess that's a similar gap to you! So strange how these things happen. How are you feeling with the pregnancy and looking after Felicity? Must be hard work!

My husband is potentially open to 1 more but he just hated what I went though with IVF and also it would cost thousands to have the transfer. Tough one. I guess we will make a decision eventually.

@Anewdaytoday Hi!! So nice to hear from you! So lovely to read you're doing so great with your gorgeous twins! Oh my word I can't imagine having 2 babies waking up all night I'm not surprised you got a sleep consultant! Tbh I'm leaning towards cry it out as he needs to sleep more, waking up all the time isn't doing him any good. How much did the consultant cost?

My older son LOVES his brother!! It's so so lovely, especially as at first he wouldn't even look at him, I was so gutted. Then about 3 months in he suddenly started interacting with him and since then they have a great time together! They've just been causing havoc in the bath together 😂 It's the best, it's my dream of 5 years come true 🥲

Anewdaytoday · 05/01/2023 21:06

@Prema112 thats so lovely to hear. They will have so much fun together. I love seeing my girls smile at each, it brakes my heart ❤️

sleep consultant was £130 for 1 1hr call plus 6 calls of 15mins. I can send her details to you? Sleep is so important for everyone.

thanks for saying hi btw! X

Prema112 · 06/01/2023 08:34

@Anewdaytoday Aww must be so lovely having 2 growing up together. Another 4am start to the day for us so yes please to the sleep consultant details! Thank you xx

She is highly recommended. Shes based in New Zealand so calls are around 8pm our time. Cheap & effective, good luck! We can compare notes!
Have you moved your baby into his own room yet? Are you breastfeeding? We’ve just moved the girls into their own room & I no longer need to feed constantly through the night which is such a relief! Xxx
