Thought I'd make a thread for us ladies who have been through IVF & finally graduated ❤️ would be lovely to have some company from people who "get it"

@Prema112 it definitely makes sense to give it some thought but from the sounds of it no need for an immediate decision so maybe give yourself time. I dunno about you ladies but I am feeling the tiredness fog already 😂😂
Glad your covid has cleared off! I'm full of cold today but my lateral flow was negative this morning so must just be a cold. Really felt in the last week that I need to slow down, DP has been really telling me off because I'm doing too much & it's really caught up with me & I think (hate to say it) that he's right!
The heartbeat bear was SO NICE, she came in & recorded it while we were there then let us listen to make sure we were happy. Such a lovely experience

@GingerBrummie omg my gosh what a LOVELY picture, I'm so so pleased to hear both babies were well & how exciting you'll get to know their gender very soon! Do you have any thoughts as to what they may be?
We were very very sure we still didn't want to know but hilariously the sonographer said the lady before us wanted to know but baby wouldn't play ball whereas our baby was fast asleep with their legs wide open when we first got in there 😂 they weren't really moving much at first but I had a fizzy drink & they went wild & moved into a much better position for pics & videos!
We also got a little 4D preview included within the package but my placenta is anterior apparently so right in front of babies face & they didn't seem to want anymore pics anyway 😂😂

OP posts:
Prema112 · 06/12/2021 18:19

@Etonmess20 Oh wow amazing that you've got the 4D picture!! So sweet!! Have you felt baby move yet? Although with an anterior placenta maybe not? I think I may be feeling the frost fluttering. I'm not sure but it's a weird feeling I don't usually feel, so maybe!

Make sure you look after yourself and take the opportunity to rest! Xx

Etonmess20 · 06/12/2021 19:28

@Prema112 it's weird to see them in 4D isn't it? My DP doesn't really like it but I think it's strangely a bit sweet to be able to see their features more.
I thought I had felt the odd roll (almost like that funny tummy feeling when you go over a bridge) but who knows now 😂 I'm looking forward to proper kicks.
I will, I've been told! You too - you don't realise how much it takes it out of you. I think because I've felt so well & normal until now it's hit me harder than maybe it would have done if I'd have felt ill earlier on. Hoping the next 2 weeks go fast for my 20 week scan!

OP posts:
GingerBrummie · 07/12/2021 11:48

Hi ladies,
@Etonmess20 nearly at your 20 weeks, your half way there! Pics look beautiful.
I am generally going to sleep around 8.30 - 9pm each day so Im there already. Make sure you slow it down, your body is going through so many changes & using all your resources.
Thanks both for the comments on my scan, I also cannot wait to feel them kicking, it will make it feel real!
@Prema112 they share the same placenta but are in separate sacs etc. The exact term is Monochorionic, diamniotic (MCDA) twins. Its high risk as in any twin pregnancy but good news is that they are in their own separate sacs so no risk of getting tangled up. All new learning for me!
Im off to buy some maternity clothes, everything is getting too tight & Im only 11 weeks!
X

Etonmess20 · 07/12/2021 12:52

@GingerBrummie I feel like it's going so so quickly at the moment!
Oh bless you, definitely make sure you're getting all the rest you need. If I'm this tired I can only imagine how tired you are with two babies to grow!
Definitely treat yourself to some maternity clothes, I wore them early as I was still quite bloated & couldn't bear being uncomfortable & didn't like the feeling of my belly being squished. I've found new look jeans are good for me but also got a tracksuit out of Primark (has to be a big shop - I got mine from Bluewater) that is super comfy for lounging around!

OP posts:
GingerBrummie · 10/12/2021 08:54

Thanks @Etonmess20 Primark is definitely on my list!

Prema112 · 10/12/2021 14:35

@Etonmess20 @GingerBrummie Hi ladies, how are you both? I've just had my downs, edwards & patau risk in the post and it's really low so I'm feeling very happy! I'm also feeling baby move a lot which is so lovely. I can't quite believe it but I'm in bed again with a stinking cold, honestly my immune system is shot! Really looking forward to not feeling ill or sick one day! Hope you are both well x

Etonmess20 · 10/12/2021 15:06

@Prema112 hello hello! I'm just about surviving if I'm honest, I've had such a busy week with work & I've spent the week with the worst sore throat ever. It just will not leave so I think you're right about immune systems being rubbish as I think mine must be too! This poor baby must be absolutely sick to death of me coughing 😂
I had a nail appointment during my "lunch hour" & I saw on their Instagram they had a slow for a cut & blow dry just before so I went for it (despite the fact I should have been working lol) & it's perked me up a little!
Glad your risks were low, it's nice & reassuring to see it written down like that isn't it?
Nice you're feeling baby move, I feel the odd thing (more like rolls/flips) but think my placenta is muffling it which makes me sad ☹️ I'm 18 weeks today so it's completely normal going by what you read but I was really hoping I'd get more by now! I'm hoping I get time to chill & try & have a prod & a poke at the weekend to see if I can get some movement.
Have you got anything nice planned for the weekend?

OP posts:
Prema112 · 10/12/2021 16:21

@Etonmess20 So sorry you've been ill as well, it's so rubbish isn't it. Glad it's not covid for you though. Hope you feel better over the weekend. I'm sure you will start feeling those kicks more and more in the coming weeks!

Weekend wise, it's my birthday tmw! DH has some things planned including going for lunch at my favourite Indian centrally. I'm a bit sad as I know I'm not gonna feel 100% but I'm hoping I'll feel a lot better than today. Then Sunday we've got our church carol service. I'm surprised it hasn't been cancelled to be honest but it's going ahead. My family were meant to come but they have reservations because of covid which I totally understand. Do you have some nice plans? X

Prema112 · 10/12/2021 16:22

I've got an H&M Order coming of maternity clothes and I'm excited about that, I feel like nothing fits!

GingerBrummie · 10/12/2021 19:00

Hi ladies,
Congrats @Prema112 on the test results but sorry to hear about your cold. Hopefully you will feel a bit better after a good nights sleep & Happy Birthday for tomorrow!
How many weeks are you now?
@Etonmess20 loved that you got a blow dry during work, its the sort of thing I do! I got my nails done for a wedding last w/e & it makes such a difference.
I also got my results from my harmony test & it came back as low which Im very relieved about. We also found out were having girls! I wanted boys but Im getting used to not getting what I want now! At least I have plenty of time to get used to the idea.
I have the NHS 12 wk scan on Monday too.
Only 1 more week left of working for me then 2 weeks off, I cannot wait. I hope you both get good breaks over Xmas? X

Prema112 · 10/12/2021 19:08

@GingerBrummie Oh wow girls!! Congrats!! Twin boys would be so hard to keep on top of, I found 1 boy hard enough! And so glad the harmony test was low risk too SmileSmile You're both inspiring me to get some kind of pampering, maybe I'll book a pregnancy massage for the new year! I'm 15 and a half weeks tmw, got my midwife appointment on Wednesday and I've got lots of questions ready. Hope you have another lovely scan on Monday, it's nice you've had one recently so you know everything is ok and don't need to worry so much

Etonmess20 · 11/12/2021 06:55

@Prema112 ooh you'll have to let me know what the H&M stuff is like! It's hard to know how much stuff to buy isn't it, I've got some bits but don't want to waste money on loads of stuff (although hopefully I will wear it again)
Happy birthday!!! Hope you have a lovely day & are feeling better than you were. I'm disappointed to say my cough is still going strong, every morning I wake up hoping it's gone but no such luck today 😂
It's a shame your family have decided to cancel some plans but unsurprising with all this omicron stuff!
We're going to do our usual food shop this morning then off to watch the football later. Then nothing planned tomorrow so probably just a good clean at home!
Definitely get yourself some pampering, you deserve it!

@GingerBrummie in all fairness my DP kept my mouse moving so no one would have known I was even gone (don't know if that makes it better or worse tbh 😂) & my work is flexible so I'm in no danger of getting sacked....hopefully 😂
So please your results came back low risk & congratulations on your girls, how exciting! This pregnancy definitely seems to be throwing you all the curve balls doesn't it?
Are you excited for your scan?
I've not actually got any time off other than the normal bank holiday days but my manager told me to cancel the time I did want to book as it'll be so quiet it wouldn't be worth wasting holiday 😉 he said to keep an eye out for anything "urgent"....I work in finance, nothing is urgent & no one will die 😂😂😂

OP posts:
GingerBrummie · 11/12/2021 09:35

@Etonmess20 I also ask my husband to keep moving my mouse!! 😂
Thanks both for the comments, now results are good we will let ourselves buy the first bit of baby clothing today, I think thats the best bit!
Sorry to hear your cough isnt getting better @Etonmess20 can you take medicine for it? Your boss sounds really reasonable which must be nice.
@Prema112 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Definitely treat yourself to a pregnancy massage, you will feel so good after. I hope you enjoy your Indian today ☺️
Im the same re Qs for the midwife! I have a nice long list! Good luck for Wed.
Happy weekends both X

Prema112 · 13/12/2021 08:18

@GingerBrummie &@Etonmess20 thank you for your birthday wishes! I had a lovely weekend, however I'm still feeling pretty poorly and have now developed a cough so have to isolate and get tested- argh! If I have COVID again I'm gonna 🤬🤬🤬

@GingerBrummie Scan day! Hope it goes so well and you can really enjoy it. Let us know! @Etonmess20 I like the H&M stuff, it's reasonably priced and comfy. Sadly I've gone up a size so have to send stuff back and get next size up. I'm getting some dungarees which I'm excited about! Hope your cough is better today x

GingerBrummie · 13/12/2021 09:42

@Prema112 Glad to hear your birthday weekend went well but sorry to hear you’re still poorly, can you do one of the lateral flow tests at home to check? Surely you cannot have it again! I would have thought you have now developed antibodies. Rest up & drink lots of tea :)
12 wk scan complete and nucal measurements are all good, very pleased. I am now officially announcing to people so will be a fun week!
Good luck for your scan on Wed Prema.
Happy Mondays both X

Etonmess20 · 20/12/2021 11:26

@GingerBrummie @Prema112 morning ladies, how are you both?
20 week scan for me on Friday, I'm sooooo excited & hoping this week goes quickly!!

OP posts:
Prema112 · 20/12/2021 18:50

@Etonmess20 So exciting that your scan is so soon!! I can't wait for my 20 week scan. I'd say I'm the most well I've been since week 5 of pregnancy Smile No covid or colds and nausea is finally lifting. I would t say I'm glowing but definitely feeling more human! Hope you're both well? X

Prema112 · 20/12/2021 18:51

@GingerBrummie So pleased your 12 week scan was all good Smile

Etonmess20 · 20/12/2021 22:37

@Prema112 it has come round really quick I think, the weeks seem to be flying by just lately! Ahhh I'm glad to hear you're feeling decent, you've had a rubbish time of it tbh so you deserve it!
I dunno if I'm glowing either but I have felt largely fine throughout which I feel really lucky for. I've actually bought some baby clothes in the last couple of days, haven't really been too fussed about buying anything before but it's been really nice actually.

OP posts:
Prema112 · 23/12/2021 07:42

@Etonmess20 Buying baby clothes is so exciting!! Im at my parents now for Christmas & gonna try convince DH to go in the loft and retrieve my sons old baby clothes to see if they are mouldy or wearable... I'll be buying a couple of new things too as it's so sweet and fun!

GingerBrummie · 23/12/2021 13:36

@Etonmess20 and @Prema112 Afternoon both, I hope you’re excited for Christmas, Im heading into London for a Christmas lunch.

Great news for the 20wk scan, so nice to have it before Christmas. Im really looking forward to buying clothes, will do so when I feel better. There will probably be loads of things in the January sales too.

Im glad you’re feeling better Prema, must make a big difference. I hope you find some mould free baby clothes in the attic! Smile

Happy Christmas & good luck for the scan Eton, you’re over half way now!!

Etonmess20 · 23/12/2021 20:47

@Prema112 oh that'll be nice to see the memories of your other baby too, really hoping it's mould free for you!

@GingerBrummie hope you enjoyed your Christmas lunch! How have you been feeling?
Thank you, will update you tomorrow, I feel excited at the minute but I'm sure I'll be nervous tomorrow. Can't believe I'm 20 weeks tomorrow, it's going so quickly!

OP posts:
Prema112 · 24/12/2021 08:11

@Etonmess20 Have a great scan!! X

Etonmess20 · 24/12/2021 08:32

@Prema112 thank you....deffo wasn't awake at 4 hoping it was time to get up 😂😂

Are you doing anything nice today?
