Thought I'd make a thread for us ladies who have been through IVF & finally graduated ❤️ would be lovely to have some company from people who "get it"

Can I join you please? Currently 21 weeks after an FET. Feeling incredibly lucky and still very nervous that something will go wrong. Feeling slightly better now I can feel movements though.

Prema112 · 24/12/2021 09:08

@SerendipitySunshine Of course, welcome! And congrats! Have you had your 20 weeks scan? I'm also feeling movements (17 weeks) and it's so lovely and reassuring

Prema112 · 24/12/2021 09:10

@Etonmess20 Aww I can understand that! Hope you can nap later Smile Today I'm meeting friends for a chilly walk, doing last minute wrapping & hanging out with family

Etonmess20 · 24/12/2021 09:11

Hi @SerendipitySunshine course you can, the more the merrier! I'm 20 weeks today with an anterior placenta & just starting to feel more definite movements!

@Prema112 I've gone from super excited to feeling a bit sick with worry! Scanxiety is so horrible 😬

Just back from my 20 week scan, baby was reallllly not playing ball. Laying in a really awkward position when we first got in there, she scanned me for a while then sent me for a walk & a sugary drink, I came back & she rescanned then sent me to empty my bladder, the rescanned & was making me turn on my back & sides to encourage baby to shift. Eventually got what we thought were all pictures & were back in the waiting room for the report & then she called us back in to take one last imagine she'd forgotten 😂 very long winded appointment but definitely felt like I got my moneys worth & saw plenty of baby 😂😂 they're super active & growing well so I'm really happy with that

@Etonmess20 Oh wow that's such a clear picture! Congrats! Must feel so good to have a clear 20 weeks scan! My 20 week scan with my son was similar to yours, I think we were there about 3 hours! Any gender guesses??

Etonmess20 · 24/12/2021 18:36

@Prema112 thank you, it does feel such a weight off to have been told everything's looking good. I've got 3 more growth scans to go so will see the baby again in 8 weeks too which is nice to have that to look forward to.
No guesses based on anything tbh, I've always though baby was a boy but there's no basis for that whatsoever except my own brain 😂

Happy Christmas all!

@Etonmess20 congrats on the 20 wk scan, beautiful pic, worth all the faff! Im in awe that you are not finding out the gender, must take a lot of will power.

@Prema112 it must be so nice feeling baby move, cannot wait to get there!

@SerendipitySunshine welcome & congrats. Is it your first?

Are you guys booking antenatal classes? I feel like as its my first I need to & I’d rather them in person than on-line. Ive found a twin one in London in March when I will be 20 weeks or so.

I hope everyone is being spoilt today, my husband is cooking & my sickness appears to be easing off (but I dont want to jinx it)! X

SerendipitySunshine · 29/12/2021 08:06

Thanks so much. This is my second, both IVF. I feel so incredibly lucky to have had it work twice, so I still can't believe it is real!
I'm thinking of booking in antenatal classes again as I can hardly remember the first time!

Etonmess20 · 29/12/2021 08:59

@GingerBrummie surprisingly it hasn't taken that much willpower for us, we genuinely don't want to know & want the surprise. I wouldn't actually want someone to tell me now, eventhough I love to sit & think about whether they'll be a boy or a girl. Probably sounds weird 😂
I think we will book antenatal classes, our hospital offers 3 free ones on teams but says from 30 weeks so just waiting for the next lot of dates to be released. We were also thinking about NCT so got to have a look into that too. Hoping the NCT will be in person rather than online. Nice you've managed to find a twin one, do you think you'll do others too?

@SerendipitySunshine I still can't believe it happened for us first time either, feels unbelievable still! How old is your first?

OP posts:
Prema112 · 29/12/2021 10:22

@GingerBrummie @Etonmess20 @SerendipitySunshine I don't know if we will do antenatal classes... we did NCT first time round which was great mainly for the friendships. I do feel like I could do with a refresher I've forgotten everything. Will definitely be doing some pregnancy yoga or palates I think it really helped me in labour last time.

I'm not feeling great today. Feeling sick again and have some vaginal heaviness which I had with my bleeds in the first tri so feeling a bit nervous. I wish I could relax and enjoy this pregnancy more and not be so worried. Still at in laws and I'd love to go home soon!

GingerBrummie · 31/12/2021 09:29

Morning everyone,
@Prema112 sorry to hear you are feeling sick again, is it your morning sickness or a cold? Can you leave your in-laws early? Im sure they would understand, nothing quite like being in your own bed. I really hope you feel better soon, if not, give your midwife a call x

My morning sickness disappeared for a few days which was amazing but not come back! Only in evenings though, hopefully it will pass soon, Im 14+2 now so I was expecting to be glowing by now!

Thanks for the comments on ante-natal classes, Im surprised how quickly they all get booked up! I will do a twins one & if there is one in my village (which I doubt) I will do that too.

Happy New Years Eve!

Prema112 · 01/01/2022 16:25

Happy new year! We are having babies this year!!!

@GingerBrummie Thanks, sorry ladies I think I come across as quite moany on here, unfortunately you quite often hear from me when I'm feeling a bit down. Finally home, it's tricky balancing what you want with what your DH wants sometimes, he really wanted to be with his family. Feeling much better and so happy to be home!!

Sorry to hear your MS has returned Ginger, hope it's only for a little while. Mine crops up occasionally, I almost vomited yesterday after downing some water! Xx

GingerBrummie · 04/01/2022 15:07

@Prema112 Moan away! Its your prerogative and what we’re here for.

Have you guys had your booster jabs? Im getting mine this week & flu jab next week, I wanted to wait until I was out of first trimester. X

Prema112 · 04/01/2022 15:18

@GingerBrummie I have yes, I probably had covid when I had it as tested positive a couple of days later Shock The only side effect I had was a sore arm, I felt more poorly for about 24 hours after flu jab

How is everyone? @Etonmess20 @SerendipitySunshine? I'm back to work today which is actually quite nice as I'm not feeling so sick anymore and I can feel baby kicking more when I'm sitting down typing Smile

Shada84 · 06/01/2022 10:38

Hi can any one help if you have same stiuation , I did scan at 6weeks pregnant with twin, but when I did scan at 8weeks just one of the twin growing the other one stop growing, so any one have any information that might be second baby gain start growing or I'm going to lose it thanks

Prema112 · 21/01/2022 20:37

@GingerBrummie @Etonmess20 @SerendipitySunshine

Hi ladies, long time no chat, how are you all doing? I just had my 20 week scan, it went quite well but I have to go back as they couldn't see spine or kidneys properly so that's a bit of a shame. I found out we are having a little boy! 💙

@Shada84 Sorry I don't know but I hope you and your babies are ok x

Etonmess20 · 21/01/2022 21:36

@Prema112 hi, how are you? How's things?
Glad to hear your 20 week scan went well, was baby just not playing ball & getting into nice positions for them to see stuff? Least you get an extra look at them! Congratulations on your boy too, very exciting! Did you have any instinct about what you were having?

OP posts:
Prema112 · 22/01/2022 18:15

@Etonmess20 I really though he was a girl! So a bit of an adjustment in my mind needed but I'm so delighted! Yeah he was sitting up like always so they need him to change positions for the next scan- not sure he is going to though!

How are things with you? Xx

Etonmess20 · 23/01/2022 08:56

@Prema112 this is my concern, I was convinced for a long time that our baby was a boy but friends of ours were convinced the other way & their baby came out a girl & they were super shocked. Now trying to prepare myself that I might be wrong 😂😂 obviously I could end the guessing by finding out but we definitely won't!
I was very close to having to go back for a rescan for my 20 week too but the super patient sonographer rescanned me like 4 times (had a walk & a drink, had a wee, rolled over a bit etc) & finnnnnally managed to get what was needed. Hopefully as he'll be bigger in a few weeks, maybe will have found a new comfy position!
All good with me thank you, 24+2 & have been fine really. I struggle to sleep properly nowadays which isn't nice but compared to a lot of other people Ive read about I'm feeling good so I'm thankful for that! I kind of just want the baby now though, feels like we've waited long enough already 😂
Got my midwife appointment a week tomorrow (the 25 week appointment) then my additional scans start from 28 weeks (18th Feb) so be interesting to see baby's growth by then.

OP posts:
Prema112 · 23/01/2022 15:09

@Etonmess20 I think if you don't have a strong preference it's really nice to have a surprise! We only found out as my DH had a preference for a girl so we didn't want him to be disappointed at the birth!

Yay you're over 24 weeks!! Great place to be! Glad things are all going well. What are your additional scans for again? Yeah it is quite nice to have an extra scan, it's so weird in my last pregnancy I only saw my son at 20 weeks and then not again until he was born! Long time to wait!

Etonmess20 · 23/01/2022 18:04

@Prema112 was he disappointed when you found out or did he take it ok? We genuinely have no preference so a surprise is definitely the way forward for us!
It's crazy isn't it? Viability!! They really kick loads stronger now as well so it's nice to get that reassurance fairly regularly too! Are you feeling much from baby?
We've got 3 growth scans due to being an IVF baby, our consultant booked them in for us at our 16 week appointment. We'll have them at 28,32 & 36 weeks. So crazy to think a lot of people would not see baby again after 20 week scan! Least it means we won't be paying for any private scans anyway as they will keep me going!

OP posts:
Prema112 · 26/01/2022 19:02

@Etonmess20 He was a bit disappointed but got over it in a couple of hours!

I feel baby lots but sometimes kicks are weaker sometimes stronger. I'm honestly counting the days to 24 weeks, 22 weeks today!

So nice to have extra scans. I think our next one will be our last so I hope I get a good look at him!

@GingerBrummie How are you??

GingerBrummie · 29/01/2022 14:21

@Prema112 and @Etonmess20
Hello both!
Yep long time no speak :)
Congrats Prema on finding out you’re having a boy, lovely news. You already have boys I think so they will have a new playmate :)
And Etonmess, I hope the 25 week scan went well, Im jealous on the kicks, I havent felt anything yet so cannot wait. What week did you start to feel movement? Is it continuous after it starts of irregular at the beginning?

All good with me thanks, Im 18+3 weeks. I now have weekly scans, its reassuring, I feel sorry for ladies who only have a few throughout whole pregnancy, Im spoilt!

I had a cone biopsy about 10yrs ago for HPV & as a result have a slightly shortened cervix so they put a stitch in to make it longer & closed. They will remove it at 36 weeks.

Otherwise my sickness has totally gone & Im no longer as tired, I actually feel good & on my way to town to buy some essentials.

I already have a massive belly! But starting to show it off rather than hide it away.

Etonmess, what is your EDD? when will you discuss your birthing options?

Xxx
