Thought I’d start a thread for those who have recently had a bfp and due in May 2022.

I’m 3w6d and due on 4th May. This will be my third baby I have a 4 and a 2 year old.

How is everyone feeling? I’m happy as I’ve been trying for a few months but still a little stunned and know it’s very early so trying not to get too excited yet!

No real symptoms yet apart from a bit of cramping. Felt a bit sick yesterday but ok today. I had really bad morning sickness from 6 weeks in my last 2 pregnancies so hoping it won’t be as bad this time.

Hello, can I join? Just got my BFP. Second baby, I have an 18 month old

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 17:49

@Bec0mum I’d say the lines on my tests looked similar to yours at 12dpo and just continued to get darker. I got a positive on a digital at 13dpo so could be worth a try in a few days.

Congratulations to @PurplePizzaCake as well!

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Thank you! My period isn't due until Sunday so I may try and resist testing again but we all know that means I will test at least once a day between now and then haha

lapeonia · 01/09/2021 18:23

@Bec0mum my very first test (that same strip one) was so so faint, you could hardly see it. That same day I got a proper positive on a first response test. I’d say you have a strong positive there, especially as your period isnt due yet :)

Bec0mum · 01/09/2021 19:28

@lapeonia Thanks! That's very exciting! I should probably buy a different test but I've got about 15 of these strip ones to use up haha

Hi all, what a lovely group hope it’s on to join! I just got my BFP on Saturday, I had a mmc at 11 weeks in June. It’s my first baby, and because of the mc I am so anxious this time. Can’t stop thinking it will go wrong again, but trying my best to be positive. I’ve only got 1-2 weeks on a clear blue and tested at the same point as my first one when I got 2-3 weeks so that has been worrying me a little. I’m tempted to take another but worried it will still be 1-2 😢 Also with the first I had really really sore breasts even before my BFP but don’t have them this time. For the ladies that have been through this a few times, do you always get the same symptoms in each pregnancy?
I would like to also join the fb page if that’s ok! Hope you are all doing well 💗😊

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 21:18

@Cherryblossom21 congratulations and welcome! Sorry to hear about the mmc Flowers it must be such a worrying time after going through that.

This is my third pregnancy and they have all been different. With my first I had lots of cramps and sore boobs, second had a few cramps but not much and boobs were fine. This time lots of cramps but boobs are on and off sore but mostly fine. Try not to worry.

Also with the clearblue test, I understand hcg levels can be really variable. I was looking at this the other day and standard hcg levels for 5 weeks of pregnancy can be anywhere between 18 and 7340. So a massive range of what’s normal.

May 2022!

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Thank you so much for replying so quickly, your message has made me feel much better and more relaxed 😊 It’s good to know the absence of the sore boobs doesn't mean much 😂 And I didn’t realise that about the cb tests, I was just comparing to my first pregnancy. It is really hard as the mc was just one of the most heartbreaking things, but I’m really happy to have my BFP again so quickly and just hope this one is a little sticky bean.
Oooh your 3rd that’s so exciting, have you told anyone yet? Sorry if you have said this already!! I would have loved a big family as I’m so close with my siblings but I’ve left it a bit late (I’m 39!) 😊💗

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 01/09/2021 21:40

I’m glad you feel a bit better @Cherryblossom21 I’ve honestly felt different every single time so I’m sure symptoms are very variable in each different pregnancy. It’s such a stressful and uncertain time in the pregnancy, I’m sure especially if you’ve had a loss but try to keep in mind that the vast majority of pregnancies result in a baby. The odds are on your side.

I’ve only told DH so far! I think I’m going to wait until the 12 week scan. I think everyone will be quite surprised as after my second one was born I was quite adamant I was sticking to 2. I even got rid of all my maternity clothes, lots of baby stuff 🤦🏼‍♀️ My DH has always wanted a bigger family and as my 2 have grown out of the baby stage (they are 2 and 4) I’ve come round to thinking one more would be nice. I am also one of 3 and I quite like the idea of 3 now.

@MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat Your completely right and I need to just keep telling myself that the chances of it being ok are higher than it not! Thank you 😊
Aww that’s a shame you got rid of a lot of your stuff, but so nice to have a third! Your other 2 are at such a lovely age too. It will be such a nice surprise for themwaiting until the scan!
I’ve told my parents and siblings, and my DH has told his parents. We had told them and a couple of really close friends last time, and their support really helped us when we had the mc. Have decided just to tell the family this time though. The EPU said I will get an early scan this time, but I haven’t registered yet so we will see.

Hello! Another one for May here Smile. Got a bfp two days ago (and yesterday) and still in shock. Early days, 4 weeks today, and first pregnancy. As of this morning I'm officially late! Been trying 5 cycles and expected it to take longer. Just joined mumsnet, having hovered silently on threads whilst ttc, and reading about faint lines on cheapies etc. Due date 12th May, all being well. First suspected due to areola changes! Feeling a bit sick and crampy. Lovely to have a space to tell people and process with, only DH knows so far and we want a little time for just us (not including online folk!). Hope you're all keeping well. I'll try and join the fb group!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 02/09/2021 16:47

@Leavesaregood congratulations! Yes I definitely agree it’s nice to have a space to talk to people about it, especially as we are all going through the same thing. Apart from dh I don’t think I’ll be telling anyone in real life for a while so it’s good to have an outlet for it!

How is everyone doing today? I’m still getting a little cramping and sore boobs but could easily forget I’m pregnant really!

Excited to join you. Due May 7. So nervous and excited. This will be our second.

aNewYorkerInLondon · 02/09/2021 17:48

Ladies, are any of you experiencing rather uncomfortable lower-abdominal cramping when approaching orgasm? Everything I've read says not to worry, but I'm not usually one for ignoring the signals my body sends me, so it's hard for me to let go of my worry. I badly want to be "romantic" with my husband, and things are great up until that moment then I'm suddenly like "no stop!" Which of course he does immediately, but it's a bit of a mood kill. I'd really like to get myself past this to enjoy some intimate time with my husband. Your wisdom, please, ladies!

SerendipitySunshine · 02/09/2021 20:24

Fair play to you - I'm not letting mine near me just yet! Silly I know, but I'm scared to do anything as I hear so much about chemical pregnancies. Every twinge I'm terrified, as it's taken us so long to get this far.

ChelseaaBun · 02/09/2021 20:58

Hi all, I got my BFP a few days ago - due 14 May. This will be our second, we have a just turned 1 year old. I am quite nervous that it's still so early on and don't want to get my hopes up too early but am also getting really excited about my first having a sibling! I've requested to join the FB group, in one for my August baby that started on here and it's been the most amazing group!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 03/09/2021 08:19

@ChelseaaBun welcome and congratulations!

@aNewYorkerInLondon I can’t say I’ve had the opportunity recently I feel so bloated and tired I’ve not let my husband anywhere near me. I do remember a lot of cramping post-orgasm though in early pregnancy previously I think it is quite normal albeit worrying!

StrawberrySun · 03/09/2021 20:25

Exciting to be joining the May due dates! Early days for me, I might lurk around for a while until I feel a bit more confident about those lines x

aNewYorkerInLondon · 03/09/2021 21:51

Whether just reading along or chatting, welcome, @StrawberrySun! I've found the ladies here to be super helpful with all my anxieties! All any of us can do is wait and hope, eat and sleep well, and encourage and support each other. Smile

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 04/09/2021 15:51

Welcome and congratulations @StrawberrySun!

How’s everyone doing this weekend? I think the nausea has started to kick in a little for me but not too bad, just sort of constant low level nausea. I stupidly googled and read that morning sickness worsens with each child. I suffered pretty badly with my first 2 so I’m hoping it won’t be worse with a 2 and 4 year old to took after! I have vivid memories of having my head in the toilet bowl last time and my 10 month old repeatedly slamming the toilet lid on my head and cackling 😂

GingerbreadHead · 04/09/2021 20:32

Feeling a bit deflated today. I did a clearblue weeks indicator test and it's only showing 2-3 weeks. I should be 5w3days today so I feel like it's not a good sign. Was hoping the test would reassure me but I feel like I'm just waiting for the inevitable now. I've told some of my close friends, which I've never done before this early and now wishing I hadn't.

StrawberrySun · 04/09/2021 21:01

@GingerbreadHead I might be completely wrong - is there a chance the digital one shows from ovulation, rather than the start of your cycle? I'm extremely cautious this time after an early miscarriage recently so I get where you're coming from x

GingerbreadHead · 04/09/2021 21:14

@StrawberrySun it says on the packet it calculates from conception, which I estimate was 3 weeks ago, and ovulation was just over 3 weeks ago. I've never used a digital before so not sure how accurate they are, but the other tests I've done were quite faint lines too. Going to test again in the morning and see what the line looks like, then maybe do another digital next week if nothing happens before then. It's such a nerve wracking time isn't it!

SweetPeaGirl · 05/09/2021 00:41

Hi! I'm 5 weeks pregnant and the due date calculator says 9th May.

I've had some drama with the father and it looks like I'll be doing this on my own, but I'm very excited. I'm 32, first baby, absolutely delighted.

I've more or less decided that I'm going to tell my mum when I see her tomorrow. I'm expecting tears of joy and a lot of questions.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 05/09/2021 08:27

@GingerbreadHead did you use fmu? I think this can make a difference. Try not to worry too much. There is a very large range of what’s normal for hcg levels in early pregnancy.

Welcome @SweetPeaGirl and hats off to you doing it on your own. Hope it goes well with your mum.
