At least it sounds like your doctor is taking you seriously Paula. It's almost unbearably nerve-wracking, these early weeks. I hate it. There's no way I could last to 14 weeks to get a free scan, which is why I've booked a private one on Friday. I've had three m/c, one missed one at 14 weeks and it was devastating.

MINNIE1, I think we must have met on a TTC thread - that was a long time ago!

Welcome to Bealcain, Zinnia and lazyhippo.

Shrooms, that sounds very frightening, your poor DD (and poor you, must be very worrying for you).

Worrying tonight that I don't seem to have many symptoms....argh, this is all so stressful.

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 21:10

Welcome Bealcain,
Wishing you a long healthy stay.

DD is 22mons, sometimes when she is in the bath she will stand up and say po po and sit on the loo but nothing. She know what it's for but has'nt done the deed.

19 days to christmas and i have nothing done aghhhhh o well could be worse... Going to rope DP into going shopping on Friday and have a meal out have'nt done that in ages.

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 21:12

MrsWednesday
My god it was, Have 2 DD now DD1 is 22 mons and DD2 is 12 mons and one on the way!! Time flys.. Is this No 3 for you as well?

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 04/12/2007 21:13

verso you poor thing. I feel for you tonight .Expat as well my thoughts are with you both x

Paula and others who are worried i have suffered miscarriages and a few years ago bought a hand held dopppler

today has been completely symptomless for me so stress stress then nip upstairs and use dopppler - chill for a couple of hours.

i think you can hire them..

just a thought - mine seriously keeps me sane

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 21:24

I had one of them and found them great, i got mine in ebay. Gave it to my SIL and can't go asking for it as we have'nt told anyone yet (well only my sisters) But could do with it now..

MrsWednesday · 04/12/2007 21:39

PYBF, can you manage to hear the heartbeat this early? Sounds like it might be a good idea...

MINNIE1, yes hopefully it will be number 3 for me too - have got 2 DSs. DS2 is definitely not ready to be potty-trained even though he's 2 1/2! I asked him yesterday if he wanted to use his potty and he just said no and ran off!

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 04/12/2007 21:41

yes mrs weds

i found this one at 7 weeks - takes 5mins sometimes but worth it

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2007 21:54

I didn't know about Expat, Thats awful.

MINNIE1 · 04/12/2007 21:55

MrsWednesday

sweetkitty · 04/12/2007 22:23

hiya bealcain and welcome is this your first baby?

about expat as well reminds me in a way of me in August

Felling totally shattered so off to bed in a bit, still have a sore throat and this disgusting taste in my mouth but haven't felt that sick today and managed to eat well (worry emoticon now)

mcchesers · 04/12/2007 23:07

Verso- I am so so sorry..big hugs to you.

bealcain- welcome aboard!

There a few of us here with our first babies.

SK - Been wiped out for a couple of days now and feeling right on the cusp of throwing up..but developed locked jaws instead. I told DH that I was feeling about 5p better today than yesterday and have a tiny bit of my appetite back. still turning my face away from food.

Let's not be worried Paula...let's just think about how good we are going to feel once the MS passes. I'm actually fed up being worried and decided just to take it day by day. I've got my next scan on the 18th with my (first) booking in appt, so I'll be here with you for the next couple of weeks. We should have a contest to find the best jokes!

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2007 23:14

Thats not a bad idea!

I'll start

How do you take out an entire circus at once?

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2007 23:16

Its a long wait isn't it? I dunno why I feel so down today.

mcchesers · 04/12/2007 23:41

it is a long wait..it's pants actually. Ok I have no idea.

It's just so easy to start freaking out but tbh I am so tired anymore that there is no strength to worry. I've been walking a lot lately and it's making a big difference in sleeping through the night, or until I have to pee and then go back to bed.

Ok I have no idea...How do you take out an entire circus at once?

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2007 23:45

You go straight for the juggler!

Sorry bad joke

bealcain · 05/12/2007 08:00

morning all. this is #3 for me. ds1 is 25months and ds2 is 9months....nice!

on PT, ds1 is nowhere near ready yet and had major panic last night, thinking he's gona want to do it next summer when i'm either really far gone or just had a baby!

definately not going private. i'm a breastfeeding counsellor and the lady that trained me and is becoming a good friend, is a mw and has always said when i got PG she's be my MW so am seeing her and talking to her today. shouldn't need to do much!

definately planning a home birth and even gona eat my placenta....... hippfied or what?lol now you're all scared of me

MINNIE1 · 05/12/2007 09:30

bealcain
Each to there own, It's not something i would do. Far play to ya on the home birth, I reach 4-5cm and scream for drugs...

Had my very first craving last night at 11pm!! boiled egg toasted sandwich!!! yummmmmmm Eating is coming back Yippeeee....

Hope you are all well today and MS is at bay..

lazyhippo · 05/12/2007 09:55

Thank you EEC, Minnie1 and Santa for the lovely welcomes- I felt a bit cheeky joining in yesterday!
Santa , could I ask what you had the accupuncture for please? Feeling v sick, although managed to hold it down so far, have bucket on red alert. Had wondered if accupuncture if might help?

paulaplumpbottom · 05/12/2007 10:58

How do plan to serve the placenta up?

zinnia · 05/12/2007 12:14

Thank you everyone for being so welcoming, as a first-timer I'm finding it all a bit nerve-wracking.

I know this sounds mad but I'm halfway through week 7 and have had almost no symptoms apart from feeling a bit more tired and forgetful than usual.

I was actually unwell for the first month with unrelated things (cystitis and then a cold) so now I'm over both those I feel like the only evidence I've got that I'm pregnant is a couple of positive tests and absence of AF since October.

Am I being completely paranoid? Is there anyone else who's not sick?

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 05/12/2007 12:44

Hi Zinnia and welcome to all the other new people.
I've had no sickness or nausea whatsoever and I am 10 weeks today by my dates. Got my scan in a fortnight so should have a better idea then.
I am getting really tired though and slightly tender (.)(.)s, and I still test on a weekly basis to make sure that the line is still there! I've even lost around 7lbs since finding out I was pg, although I am still eating normally. By this time last time around, I was in maternity clothes.

zinnia · 05/12/2007 14:18

Thanks libralady, that does make me feel a bit better. Been thinking about re-testing - that may well be the way forward for the next 5.5 weeks!
