Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Will do some bouncing on my birth ball and go and get a curry later. Hopefully will help things along a bit.

claireybraxtonhicks · 30/11/2007 17:47

Clara I love the name!

Skid your dd seems to have the right idea about labour going by her name choice-mummy poo

Had last growth scan today. was shit. whereas until now the baby has been average size the tummy is now really small. Have to monitor movements closely from now on and could be less than 6lb at term. Feeling really crap about it, might sound silly but am feeling like have failed to grow baby properly...

mixedmama · 30/11/2007 18:00

Oh Clairey - sorry it didnt go well. Some babies are just supposed to be small... I have a friend both of her daughters were around the 5.5 -6 mark and are healthy little girls. Please dont worry.... you are doing a great job and we can all only do our best. i hope I dont sound patronising as reading it back sounds a little strange but cant think of a better way to phrase it.

mellymooks · 30/11/2007 18:04

MM is right Clairey don't feel bad, me and my sis were both 6lbs and were absolutely fine, remember how tinny tiny some babes are born and they do just fine.
You are a great Mum!!!

Shells · 30/11/2007 18:15

Good luck everyone for the weekend. It takes me so long to read all these posts and by then I'm too tired to respond! I'm still 5 days away from due date but very keen for it to happen sooner. Not sleeping and baby fully engaged. We'll see.

Housemum · 30/11/2007 18:27

hospital survey

Thought this link might be of interest - it's a survey of what people thought of their hospitals. If you search by trust it lists the questions, then scroll down for your hospital ansers compared to the national average

Wizzska · 30/11/2007 18:31

Am having some feelings now. What do your contractions feel like Beanster? Mine are quite mild but more than BH, like a medium strong period pain, every 10 -15 mins or so for the last hour ish. Hope something is starting. Been playing on the Wii with DH to try and move it all along.

JARM · 30/11/2007 18:35

Thanks guys!

Just home, and still shocked I had a november baby!

Take care all of you, and hope it happens real soon - and beware - any 3rd timers, PLEASE DO NOT READ MY BIRTH STORY WHEN I POST IT xxx

Housemum · 30/11/2007 18:37

BTW, did someone say they were going for a scan today to see if their baby was breech? Or am I getting mixed up with real life? If it was someone on here, how did it go?

My niece was 6lb odd. She is nearly a year old and her nickname is "Tank" - she made up for lost time!

fifisworld · 30/11/2007 20:21

Clairey - My ds was 6lb 5oz 2 weeks overdue, he was absolutley fine and is now

Bouncingturtle · 01/12/2007 07:18

FFS - still headachy and now with horrible heartburn. Baby is going to be a mini gorilla isn't it
And have been awake since 4pm. If someone tells me once more "It's practice for when the baby arrives!" in a smug tone of voice I swear I will fahking nut 'em!!!!
Doesn't help that DH sleeps like the dead..

Oh and Good Morning everyone! No news from Wizzka or Awen as yet - thinking of you both!

fifisworld · 01/12/2007 09:18

Bouncing - Sorry your feeling so rough
Its crap isnt it, my dp sounds like yours he sleeps through everything as well

Im a bit pissed off actually as well, sil rang last night asking if we'd have her dd today as she'd been staying at mil's last night but mil is at work this morning, so she's been here since 8, on the only day off that i get to have a lie in with dp
The thing is she never rings me to say she'll have ds for a few hours so i can rest or anything and it really annoys me.

never mind, im having a nesting day today, just completley gutted my kitchen and going to start on the bathroom, i want the house all clean so i can put my tree up next weekend

superloopy · 01/12/2007 09:43

Hello All... I was on the Nov thread but have found myself in your month now. LO was due 27/11 and doesn't seem to want to move out. Whaaa!!

Has Dr's app on Fri and baby is head down but still not engaged. What can I do to sort this out? If anything?

I am in Australia and it is just getting too damn hot for this overdue business!! Whaaa!!

Wizzska · 01/12/2007 09:48

Morning all.

I'm still here.

Went to the hospital last night at around 10.00 after phoning up and saying I'd like antibiotics and then come home and not be induced. Got there and they wouldn't let me have antibiotics without staying the night and getting induced at 4.00 am. So I asked if I could go home and wait and see if something started off on its own. Had to be monitored first. Ended up being 2.00 am before being discharged. Came home and it was paradise to get into my own bed.

The upshot is I'm still at home, baby seems ok. Am monitoring my temperature. Hoping something starts or else have got to be induced early afternoon today. Fingers crossed, legs uncrossed!

Caz10 · 01/12/2007 09:51

Morning all! Wizzska hope things are progressing for you.

We have no names here either, not even a short list, it is starting to stress me a bit now!

Went for scan and baby IS head down so that is one less thing to worry about, although I had kind of started thinking about getting a date for a c-section and now it's back to waiting...Not even due for 11 days so starting to get impatient now is NOT going to help!

It was amazing to see the difference in size etc from the 20wk scan. Clairy mine is weensy too, only just over 6lbs now and they're not expecting tons more growth, she said they would only be worried at less than 4lbs. Are you or your partner tall? We are both short arses so I am not really surprised!

Jarm your wee babby is beautiful, congrats!!

Caz10 · 01/12/2007 09:51

Oh crossed posts Wizzska, good luck for today then!

buzzybee · 01/12/2007 09:54

Wizzka sorry to hear that and all fingers and toes crossed for you! Maybe have a bath to help you relax if nothing else? I'm off now to try out the nice bath bomb I bought from Lush today! Hoping the lavendar oil will also help shift the sinusitis I've had for the past week.

With any luck when I wake up tomorrow morning you'll be mid-labour and still at home all the best x

claraquitemassivenow · 01/12/2007 10:33

Wizzska - good luck for today. If you get induced will you have to have the baby in hospital as I know you are hoping for a home birth (I think?).

Claireyb - don't worry too much about the size of the baby. I don't think they really know one way or another - it all seems like a bit of a guesstimate. My nephew was 5lbs12 when he was born at term and is absolutely fine.

Welcome to December everyone!

Today is my due date. We're having curry and pineapple for supper tonight!

I am totally sick of all the people asking why I haven't given birth yet. As if I have any control over it. It's beginning to make me feel like a bit of a failure. Mind you, if I feel like this today, not too sure how I will feel in 10 days time when I still haven't popped! I think I might stop going out/answering the phone/reading emails and Facebook messages.

mellymooks · 01/12/2007 10:33

Wizzka - sorry to hear things still slow, am thinking of you and sending labour vibes your way!

Morning everyone else - gonna get tree today and put decorations up.

Hi Superloopy - hopefully things will happen soon for you!

Only 7 days til my due date now!

mellymooks · 01/12/2007 10:36

Happy due date Clara! I know what you mean, I've already been told that it's really quite a pain that i don't know when the baby will be born, because people are trying to plan their time and it's very busy with xmas coming!!! wtf?!! How am I meant to know?! And don't they think I would like to know?! Arrrrh!!!! Sorry rant over

claraquitemassivenow · 01/12/2007 10:44

Last time I had a section date from about 36 weeks for 39 weeks and as it was unlikely to come before then I just based my life around that. Easy.

So I really hate this sitting and waiting and waiting. And waiting.

Wizzska · 01/12/2007 10:48

Looks very likely I'll be going to hospital today now, homebirth looks increasingly unlikely. Absolutely no signs of an appearance from the boy. Unfortunately I can't have a relaxing bath Buzzy, as my waters have gone so there's a risk of infection.

I must admit, it is more comfortable since the waters went. My bump is considerably smaller and you can see the skin isn't stretching tightly anymore. Can feel the shape of the baby more easily too.

Waiting, waiting, everybody is just waiting.
