HoHoHousemum · 11/12/2007 14:28

Not heard from meme since last week - she was having some niggles and wondering whether to call DH/DP (they were having an inspection at work, also she's not allowed to call him unless urgent as prison workers can't take personal calls) - I'm hoping she's had baby and all is well.

CONGRATULATIONS Clairey - lovely pics

Yawning away here but can't take the luxury of a nap as I have school runs to do at 2.45 and 3.30 then DD2 dancing 4.30 - 5.30, back home to grab some pasta, then take DD1 dancing for 6.30, DH will pick up DD1 7.30 while I do DD2's bath/bedtime (need to do her hair tonight as school play tomorrow) THEN I can slob out for the evening!

macdoodle · 11/12/2007 14:35

No niggles at all here but still 2 weeks till due date...but my leg (that woke me up with cramp yesterday) is KILLING me - hurts to walk on it ...
Well done on all the babies clarey gorgeous

skidaddle · 11/12/2007 14:39

macdoodle - I had a leg cramp like that last week - couldn't walk for a day then hurt to walk for a few days aftr - it really is the most excruiating thing ever, isn;t it? DH said something really supportive and sympathetic along the lines of, 'well if you think that hurts, how are you going to cope with childbirth?' Think he thought it was just like normal cramp

mellymooks · 11/12/2007 14:49

Hi Skid - yep been having clary sage bath every night and burning in oil burner too. Eaten loads of curries, pineapple been doing my acupressure points, long walks, bumpy car rides, shagging!!! Nothing working - guess it's just too cosy in there.....

fifisworld · 11/12/2007 14:54

Congratulations clairey

I feel quite sad, this morning when we woke up i brought ds into our room and he was playing on the bed and then he was lying between me and dp just getting cuddled and i was saying that it will be the last time just the 3 of us will be able to do that, everything changes again from thursday, which is a good change, but i still feel sad that ds will not have me just for himself anymore.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok

skidaddle · 11/12/2007 14:55

wow melly - I am impressed - the only two of those I've managed are pineapples and a clary sage bath bomb!! I was trying to be positive about it this morning (following phonecalls last night from my mum, dad, brother, PILs, SIL, and 2 friends) and thought that I must have a lovely cosy uterus and a high-functioning placenta for both my babies to want to stay in there as long as possible - made me feel better for a little while at least...

becklesparkle · 11/12/2007 14:56

Congratulations Clairey!!! Gorgeous little man!

Glad all is well with your LO too Insy, I guess some babies must just be a bit lazy, I reckon mine is too. Do you ever find that it'll have a really busy day and then a few quiet ones? Mine certainly does, I think it tires itself out!

Some of you guys are so unbelivably organised! I am nowhere near! Mind you, cot is down from loft now and most Christmas stuff bought (if not wrapped yet...) so I am getting there.

Pecka, your man sounds like he needs a slap! Making you do all the work while he sleeps! I agree with whoever suggested ice cubes in his pyjamas - great idea!

Well DS1 has been unwell for a couple of days, high temp, sore head and off his food but seems back on form this afternoon so thankfully will be going back to school tomorrow. Really hoping he just caught a chill at football at the weekend and it wasn't anything he can pass on to DS2 or me [selfish mummy face].

skidaddle · 11/12/2007 14:56

fifi - I have that feeling as well everytime dd comes into our bed in the morning (bringing her dolly and a couple of books with her) - it'll never be the same again - BUT HOPEFULLY it will be even better

How are feeling about Thurs? best of luck

Bouncingturtle · 11/12/2007 15:02

OK this is a little song I wrote for you overdue ladies.

To the tune of Etta James "I just want to make love to you"

I don?t want to wait another day
This baby?s making my feet splay
I know what we have to do
So I just wanna make love to you.
?Love to you?
?Love to you?Ooooohhooh?
?Love to you?

I?ve tried to eat a hot curry
Only to make this baby hurry
Can?t think of what else to do
But keep me makin? love to you.
?Love to you?
?Love to you?Ooooohhooh?
?Love to you?

And you can tell by the way I check my knicks
And get so excited at the Braxton-Hicks;
All I need is some of your manly stuff,
Because I?m overdue and enough is enough!

All I want to do is have this child
Bloody backache driving me wild
You don?t want me mad and blue!
So keep me making love to you
?Love to you?
?Love to you?Ooooohhooh?
?Love to you?Ooooh.

becklesparkle · 11/12/2007 15:04

Very good Bouncing!

skidaddle · 11/12/2007 15:07

...

SAmbiClaus · 11/12/2007 15:07

Oh Clairey he's gorgeous - CONGRATS!!! , aren't we just popping like fireworks now.

After a very pants nights sleep, went back to bed when DH went to work at 8 and woke up and 11, now after a lovely shower, makeup and hair styled - feel gorgeous and fresh as a daisy. (That's not to say I don't shower everyday - I do!! Just feel extra sexy/gorgeous today! )

The dog has been very clingy the last couple of weeks, thinks she's totally gotten used to me being at home, it's very cute. I'm sure she'll scoot off to her bed more when I'm carrying a little screamer. Have avoided the TV so far today, and my brain doesn't feel like mush, but can't trawl t'internet any longer without the need to purchase stuff! I love that thought skid about having a very cosy womb. I like that, but DH is feeling left out, as if I'm keeping baby all to myself!

mellymooks · 11/12/2007 15:09

Loving it Bouncing!! Such talent! That has really made me smile

SAmbiClaus · 11/12/2007 15:10

That's fab BT,

Beanstermummy · 11/12/2007 15:18

ClairyBH - Congrats honey - sounds really similar to me birth wise too - I just about remember getting a tad cross when they tried to suggest my contractions hadn't been strong enough and there was no way I would be dilated enough!!

And Douggie is gorgeous - slight issues for me posting pics as DH decided last year we had to have a Mac not a PC and I've never had the patience to master it yet!!

About to go out into town for shopping and may even do feeding if need be - with DH with me it's easier and I had a real issue last time and so while still on positive high about it all am pushing myself a bit - also and excuse to sit in coffee shop and eat mince pies

loucee · 11/12/2007 15:58

Congratulations Claireyb!! Your son is gorgeous and it's lovely seeing your wee girl holding him too.

Beanster - yes make the most of DH being with you for public feeding to build your confidence up, it really helped me to do it that way before I had to "go it alone". I'm a bit worried how I'll cope with feeding in public and looking after DD (22 months).

CHickened out of the bikini wax this morning, just felt too whale like and knew it would be painful. Had legs done though and feel great for it.

Had an email from a friend to say she'd had a baby boy on 4th December - baby Hugo!

Has Suey been around? I'm wondering who's in labour when I don't see them post!

fifisworld · 11/12/2007 16:10

skiddadle - I feel ok now, had a few bad days last week but feel much better now. Just can't wait for it to be over!!
I was also worried about not seeing ds but apparently the hospital im going in allows siblings in all day apart from over the rest period 12-2, so im glad about that.

Lizzer · 11/12/2007 16:59

wow massive congrats to claireyb, he's gorgeous (as is your daughter btw)

Well I'm getting a treat tonight as my friend is making an indian feast for me and dp as a housewarming present, she's bringing it round hot and ready to eat - how nice is that?!

BT that's amazing skill you have, think of some more if you have time, it was hilarious

Yeah I'm pig sick of having to be organised too, i have dd's bday on 23rd but luckily she's old enough to be able to understand the circumstances. Every morning i think how much i have to achieve in the day and i get about 50% of it done, but i'm sure everything will work out ok in the end

have a nice evening ladies...

Bouncingturtle · 11/12/2007 17:25

Thank you ladies! Glad you liked it!

Amani · 11/12/2007 18:06

Congratulations Clairyb and happy due date Skid - not even a twingle? .

Bouncing - you have a wonderful talent!

Anyone else feel like they can eat for England at the moment...feeling hungry every five mins...

buzzybee · 11/12/2007 19:23

Gorgeous photos Clairey and huge congrats!!!

Speking of pets someone told me yesterday to be prepared for my CAT to be jealous of the baby - surely not!!! I just can't see Meg (our cat) jumping on the baby or anything like that . A dog maybe - anyone have any tales??

I seem to get BHs every night when I go to bed for an hour or so - really hoping LO is warming things up for, maybe, this weekend?!!

mellymooks · 11/12/2007 19:35

Amani - i've been ravenous today too! Have been "grazing" all day

Bouncingturtle · 11/12/2007 20:12

For about the past week, been making up for months of poor appetite!

insywinsyspider · 11/12/2007 20:14

congrats claireyb! agree with everyone, gorgeous photos x

Amani - am eating for 3 over here - can't believe you just mentioned krispy kreams! mmm!

fifi - glad you'll be able to see ds whilst in hosp, our hosp has same policy - how long do you think you'll be there?

beckle - no sure about quiet and active days for baby, today its been v active, even to the point of disturbing my nap!

loucee - was also thinking bout suey, she usually posts regularly...

This time last pg (39 wks today) I'd had ds... run out of things to do, xmas presies wrapped, cards posted, house cleaned (nesting kicked into with realisation I was having a home birth and wanted it clean for mw's!) ds still going to childminders a little so well on top of everything, have him tomorrow tho looking forward to some quality time
