Hola

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
skidaddle · 07/12/2007 13:12

I was thinking that too this morning claraq - had a good night's sleep for the first time in ages - today is the day I decree that you should be born baby!

furry - hope everyone gets better soon although I'd def rather be ill than 9 months pg atm!

claraquitemassivenow · 07/12/2007 13:23

My bowels are defintely VERY loose - just had a second "clear out" for today. Do you think this could mean anything?? Am I clutching at straws?????

I notice a few missing bods, hope they are off having their babies (eg mememummy and sarahpt)....

FurryFox · 07/12/2007 13:32

clara - I was just tucking into lunch as I read your post about your clear out. I must remember not to eat chocolate trifle while reading mumsnet ever again Not actually sure if means anything but whilst on the subject of it I'm having the opposite trouble IYKWIM?

claraquitemassivenow · 07/12/2007 13:52

Oh no I'm so sorry Furry - I don't normally talk about such things but I figure anything goes in childbirth!

I feel terrible now. Will never discuss my bowel movements on MN again!

Oh apart from to say....

I have also been constipated for quite a lot of the last few weeks, which is why this all feels so different. But then again there is so little room in there for food anymore perhaps it just has to come straight out???

claraquitemassivenow · 07/12/2007 13:52

Oh and now I want some chocolate trifle!

Lizzer · 07/12/2007 13:55

Congratrulations NBG, lovely name too

Oh Skid, I'm with you on this one. I don't feel the need to rush this lo out BUT I'm so naffed off that they'll probably want me in before xmas for induction, no weekend option either. Luckily my midwife is on my side but my consultant has other ideas which is forcing me to get a bit arsy I haven't really got the strength to argue...

Good luck everybody, wishing you all good vibes for the weekend...Who'll be next????

Lizzer · 07/12/2007 13:56

Hmm I can spell congratulations really, and did someone say chocolate??

FurryFox · 07/12/2007 13:56

lol clara, this is certainly a thread where I think anything can be discussed so you go ahead and talk all you like Don't feel terrible, serves me right for eating naughtites in the middle of the day anyway

So who can tell me about a 'show'? I never had one with DD and wondering what to expect if I get one this time. Does it just come out in one go or over a period of time etc?

skidaddle · 07/12/2007 14:19

lol clara - bowel clearout is often one of the first signs (I've already had my lunch so i'm not remotely offended) esp if you are usually constipated (during pg) - sounds promising - get bouncing etc. BTW I tried nipple stimulation for the first time last night and it really did make me have a contraction but I just didn't have the energy to persevere - might be worth trying though?

furry - I am wondering whether I have had the beginnings of a show - as I described yesterday - unidentified gloop but transparent/white with no blood/pink bits so not sure if it was or not (had some more this morning). Think last time there was a lot of it and it might have been brown but can't really remember - think i was already having contractions by then so didn't really care!

Lizzer - you're due the day before me so I imagine they'll want to induce you around the same time as me - 41 weeks? This just seems ridiculous to me as most babies go over their due date and it is very likely ours will come of their own accord if not prodded and irritated by medical professionals - what do you think you'll do?

and claraq - please come online and tell us if things to start - so exciting that way!!

claireybraxtonhicks · 07/12/2007 14:41

Congrats to NBG and Wizzka!
Still nothing here(although I have been having the unidentified gloop for a couple of weeks now Skid), but my RL friend had her baby this morning

It's funny, I wasn't at all impatient about getting baby out until the subject of induction came up, and as that not only means being induced but also having to go to Bristol for birth I'm suddenly desperate for baby to come.

Clara sounds like things might be on the move for you, keep us updated.

Wizzska · 07/12/2007 14:44

Pic of my Rory on my photos now.

Wizzska · 07/12/2007 14:46

Clara- a couple of hours before my waters went, I had a real bowel clear out, and felt sick. Thought I'd eaten something off. I think the body prepares itself. Fingers crossed for you.

skidaddle · 07/12/2007 14:51

oh wizzska - he is sooooo gorgeous and looks so tiny even though he was 8lb something, wasn't he? What are blue lights?

clairey - I know I'm the same - was all laid back about when he came and suddenly I'm all stressed about it - and we're not even at our due dates yet! Glad to see another to join me in the unidentified gloop brigade

Bouncingturtle · 07/12/2007 15:02

Hello, had a bit of a scare, nearly passed out in Asda, got taken by ambulance to the maternity unit. Happy to report fine now, except very tired, conclusion is that I've been overdoing it and need to rest. Urine is clear, though BP went up somewhat, so it is looking like I don't have pre-eclampsia, thank God!
So going upstairs to bed!
Haven't had time to have a catch up this morning! So hope everyone is ok and Wizzka is enjoying her little ds!

Bouncingturtle · 07/12/2007 15:03

BTW Wizzka - Rory is gorgeous!!

Wizzska · 07/12/2007 15:19

Skid - blue light is for jaundice treatment, poor thing. I think it makes him look like a little angel - but I'm his mum, I would think that wouldn't I.

Bouncing - , hope you're ok!

skidaddle · 07/12/2007 15:30

Oh dear bouncing - rest up and take care

wizzska - poor little thing - he does look like a little angel - has the jaundice gone now? How is he getting on? (and you?)

mellymooks · 07/12/2007 15:51

Hello!
Wizz - he is gorgeous!

Well been walking for hours, had regular twinges through the day and low back ache, but nothing has got any more intense, I also have experienced a good "clear out" could my body be warming up for the main event? I'm scared to even hope as i don't want to disappoint myself if it all just dies down again....

Have a big rest and sleep Bouncing!

skidaddle · 07/12/2007 15:57

melly - sounds promising but I wouldn't let myself get my hopes up just yet if I were you... Bit of sex and some nipple stimulation tonight perhaps and see how it goes?

loucee · 07/12/2007 16:56

Hi everyone

Sorry for the doom and gloom post earlier. I've been thinking about this today and was at a birthday part for DD's wee pal who's mum is a midwife and her friend who is also one was there too and had a long chat about possibilities of what could happen this time round. As usual with pregnancy it could happen the same as last time or be totally different - wont know until the time so I think I'll keep the appointment on Thurs to discuss things to hopefully get a wee note put on my notes so the MWs are aware when I go in but I am adamant I don't want an elective section. If the baby is in distress during birth then that's another matter.
One last thing though can you all tell me where you feel/see the kicks/movements from your babies?

Wizz, Rory is gorgeous, no wonder you are proud! How are you feeling now?

It's Friday and the weekend! What's everyone doing this weekend? We're taking DD to Frasers to see Father Christmas tomorrow then got family over for lunch on Sunday.

Housemum, thank you so much for those links. I've skimmed over them and will read properly later tonight but I really appreciate you taking the time to post them.

cazzybabs · 07/12/2007 17:11

Still no sign of baby (now a week late by scan date)...am off out to school for gluwein (or however it is spelt)...

Spent a whole day with dd2 today - it was really nice! We saw Father Chrismtas on her nursery trip at a local garden centre and then went into town for some whopping - bought her some new school uniform (for when she starts in Jan), had lunch and then mouched! It was reallu nice.

loucee · 07/12/2007 17:12

Cazzy - good that you're still keeping really active, being a week overdue the end must be round the corner. Lovely that you got some quality time with DD2.

cazzybabs · 07/12/2007 17:21

Well - the trouble is I just don't feel I am about to have a baby..I think I am in denial (excewpt being tired and grumpy)...

Wizz - he is indeed very beautiful!

Bouncingturtle - hope you are OK now and are tucked up in bed!

Loucee - sorry your are feeling down - there is still tine for baby to turn and its not the end of the world if it doesn't! It is crap of your midwife however not to tell you before now!

Caz10 · 07/12/2007 17:30

Oooh bouncingturtle how are you doing? Very scary, glad you're ok!

Hee hee to skidaddle's dream, I WISH I had the biggest bump, I've got a teeny one apparently, have been made to feel quite paranoid about it for the past few months! Here's to your prediction of lots of happy healthy babies anyway!

Whizzska Rory is gorgeous! That was a name we thought of too, as is Ethan, great "due-in-Dec" minds think alike! Still can't decide though.

Furryfox my midwife told me a show would be lots more unidentifiable gloop than normal, and definitely pink tinged. I'm quite sure though that as with all of this other pregnancy malarkey there are no hard and fast rules for anything! At the hospital yesterday they said a little bit could come loose well ahead of the rest.

And just to continue with talk of luverly things, I've had the scoots all day today too! Well we will have healthy bowels at least...

cazzybabs · 07/12/2007 17:34

caz10 - I have a tiny)ish) bump too! Measuring 36cm!
