Hola

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
loucee · 06/12/2007 16:37

Cazzybabs - in my notes it just says cephalic (that's all I can make out from their writing). They didn't mention DD was back to back either but thinking back all the signs were there (awful backacke in late pregnancy), limbs coming out of belly button, sunken bump). I've been doing everything I can to avoid back to back presentation this time round, bit dispondant that it hasn't appeared to work.

Suey - hope the pre-eclampsia is negative but hope the baby arrives next week!

Going out with the girls for our Christmas night out, 4 of us are pregnant though (out of 7) so don't think it'll be the normal behaviour and alcohol consumption! Trying to find something nice to wear in my wardrobe without resorting to frumping, so glad I had my hair done yesterday as feel a bit more glammed up!

It's late in the day but is anyone just using the mattress that came with their moses basket? I was trying to get one that was a sleepsafe one, with holes in it but cannot find one to fit our basket. The one that came with it has a waterproof covering on it and i'm worried that the vomit will pool on it and put baby at risk? DD's soaked up vomit.

mellymooks · 06/12/2007 16:37

I'm sure I read somewhere that sweeps only really work if your cervix is "ripe" at the mo I think I would like to wait a bit longer than 5 days past my due date. Just really hope some thing happens this wkd then I won't even have to decide what to do!!!

I'm really impatient too Ambi (just saw your other thread!) my DD tomorrow but feel like I've been ready for wks.

Bouncingturtle · 06/12/2007 17:16

OH FFS!! DH's exgf just rung up and told him that we are having DSS weekend after next and the weekend after that!!! We have this weekend, but we never agreed to have him three on the trot, and the 3rd weekend is the one I'm due!!!
I really wonder what f*ing planet she is on sometimes - as if we would agree to have dss on a weekend I am due considering it's a 3 hour round trip to his mum's and back - and it would HAVE to be DH to take him! I've said I don't have a problem with the weekend after this one, but we are going to ask inlaws to be on standby just in case, but we are not having him the weekend I am due! We had already told her that we couldn't commit to any more weekends after this one because we have no idea when the baby's going to arrive!!
Besides according to her plan we would be having him 3 weekends on the trot - is she trying to get rid of him or what

fifisworld · 06/12/2007 17:33

Bouncing - It sounds like she is just doing to because she knows your due and she's trying to be awkward, as if to remind you that your DH still has his other kids as well.
I remember after i had ds, i came home on the sunday night and sil asked us to have our 3 year old neice the Friday night after. I was , id just had a cs and couldnt be bothered with myself never mind someone elses kids which normally i dont mind at all.
DP told her i wasnt up to it and she took a total huff and didnt come round for a couple of weeks after that.

suey2 · 06/12/2007 17:39

how can people be so bloody inconsiderate? Can't they allow you your time as an immediate family? GRRR

Bouncingturtle · 06/12/2007 18:08

I think we are sorted... she just doesn't think sometimes and I think she has imaginary conversations with DH in her head...
ILS on holiday until middle of next week, so won't be able to speak to them until then about the following weekend.

loucee · 06/12/2007 18:18

Bouncing - Think Fifi is spot on about your DHexgf wanting to remind him he has other children. ignore her!

claireybraxtonhicks · 06/12/2007 18:21

Congrats to Choc and Loopy! Lotsof babies now!

Just a quick question-when you put witch hazel on the pads do they still soak up the blood and gunk etc or are they too saturated with the witch hazel?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 06/12/2007 19:26

PeckaRolloverAgain · 06/12/2007 19:55

I know, lol I have just text her to tell her I barely managed to get the update on MN a minute before she text. He was already an hour old when I let everyone know!!

In my defence I was pigging out in Nandos

fifisworld · 06/12/2007 19:58

Congratulations NBG
We are calling our ds Ethan too. I dont know if i should get someones n umber from here so i can text you next thursday to post or make you wait till i come home

skidaddle · 06/12/2007 20:12

wow - we're doing well, aren't we? I can;t even remember who I haven't congratulated yet!! (I can really - huge congrats to chocpeanut, loopsy and Nbg!!)

Your birth story was fantastic RG - you must be so proud of yourself - just what I envisage in my fantasies but I'm not deluding myself that it will necessarily happen

don't like this logging on once a day - too many messages to read and then can't remember who to reply to!

fifi - glad you're feeling better after getting upset with your dp - FWIW I don;t think you were just being hormonal - of course you're scared - it would be wierd not to be and he should be very understanding of that!

clairey - re witch hazel on pads - think you just put a few drops on so they should still work fine but I'm only guessing as never did it last time

Had mw appt today - she is sooo crap. She basically can't be bothered to see me next week (would have to be a home visit) so she has sent me to the gp that (wrongly)told me I was 4/5 engaged at 36 weeks. Asked her if I could have a sweep then and she said no. Asked her about induction and Xmas day and she said of course they won't induce you around Xmas, not on a weekend either. I asked if an epidural was more likely if I was induced, she said, depends. Well thank you very much, feel most reassured , sorry to be so inconvenient as to be due when you would rather be eating your turkey

Great story Loopy - how are you feeling now?

mellymooks · 06/12/2007 20:52

Crikey - i've only not checked messages for about 2 hours and another baby has arrived!!!

Congrats NBG!

Just had hot chinese curry and glass of red wine and am bouncing on ball, think i'll have some pineapple in a bit then a clary sage bath!!

cazzybabs · 06/12/2007 21:00

OK - I have failed on the bag packing, but I have started my Christmas shopping! Well - I have bought a doll for dd2.

Caz10 · 06/12/2007 22:07

Wow babies everywhere!! MASSIVE congrats to all the new mummies (with only a touch of thrown in heee heee!).

I had to go and get monitored today because I had a slight bleed but all is well, head down but no-one is mentioning how engaged it is, so I'm thinking maybe it's just not?!

I'm still paranoid over every second where I don't feel it, but it was v reassurring hearing the heartbeat today!

Gave us a fright though as we were out and about without hospital notes or anything, so the bags are in the car now even though I've not finished packing, figure I'll be better with half packed bags than none at all!

skidaddle to your appointment! Isn't it strange how things are different - up here they mainly ONLY do inductions on the weekend, so I have been told probably the 22nd if nothing happening by then...

mellymooks · 07/12/2007 04:17

Hi folks. Hope you've managed to get back to sleep Melly!
Congratulations Loopy, Chocpeanut and NBG! It does feel very WOW now doesn't it with all these babies arriving

Cleared out my desk at work today despite still having another week to go officially. Deluding myself that if I'm fully prepared for her arrival she might come (early)...of course the reverse is more likely! Also went to the supermarket and stocked up on the same principal...

Don't have much left to do at work anyway. Spent half of today on the internet researching all sorts of non-work related things! Looking forward to catching up with a few friends this weekend - may be my last chance for a while!
