Wow, busy day on here!
Skid and Melly, you made be ! I have done my fair share of moaning too! TBH most of the time I just feel grateful to be having another baby and nothing else really matters! I don't really know what difference a hernia will make to labour, the Doc seemed to think it would probably pop out more when I was pushing but didn't say anymore than that. I have had a letter from hospital saying I am on the system to see surgeon/consultant and to wait for the appt to come through, I somehow doubt it will be here before LO is though! Have been avoiding Evil Google but may resort to it as the time gets closer - hate not being informed!
HUGE congrats to Halibop and RG and really hoping that things went smoothly today for you too Choc! Gorgeous little girl by the way RG, don't let the MWs stress you about BF - they only really get colostrum in the first few days before milk comes in anyway, she is latching on and sucking and that is what is most important at the moment. Most babies loose weight in their first week or 2 anyway, DS2 lost well over 1/2 an lb but they weren't concerned. I think some MWs have forgotten that 80 years ago there was no such thing as formula...
Meme on/off contractions with the odd really painful one sounds like your body preparing for the hard bit to me. I had 2 days of regular but not too painful ones with both boys and MW said it was the neck of the cervix rolling back and getting to 3cms. At 3cms they count you as being in 'established' labour. Hope the clary sage does the trick!
Furry (hi!) and Lizzer, I am really worried about missing Christmas with my DSs too! I have tried to make a deal with the baby, if it must come that day (fair chance as due 2 days after) then please let it be in the afternoon/evening so I can be at home with the boys to see them open their presents! Hope s/he was listening!
Clairey, sending lots of labour vibes your way!
Skid, it could well still be a show. With DS1 I had one on the Monday, pre-labour started on the Thursday and he was born Saturday night! Means things are starting to get going though!
Buzzy, people are soo annoying about bump comments aren't they?! I have had a couple of people surprised I am due in 3 weeks when all I have had for the last few months is comments on how big I am! Mind you, a pg girl I saw this evening pointed me out and said to her Mum "I hope I don't get that big..."
Caz10, I stress too about baby's movements, especially as s/he seems to have busy days and quiet days now. Keep worrying something will go wrong for baby or for me. Think it is quite normal at this stage of pg to feel this way.
Cazzy that your BP was not great today, fingers crossed it will not go any higher. Bless your DD in her Nativity! My DS1 was in a Christmas concert this evening and to see him trying so hard and singing all the words (he really over pronounces them, so funny) had me welling up!
