oh and i had a bath, and my bump has gone harder (if that was possible) and has changed shape?

RGPargy · 03/12/2007 22:49

mememummy - sounds promising!! Fingers crossed for you!

I've had a bad back all day too and have had tightenings tonight. Makes me wonder if i too am in labour of if it's all in my head lol.

mememummy · 03/12/2007 22:49

am a bit scared now to be honest i hope she likes me

cazzybabs · 03/12/2007 22:55

Mememummy - have you had your show yet?

I am not in labour....postive thoughts that I won't be until late next week....

good luck to both you ladies...fingers crossed.

I have to see the midwife tomorrow - fingers crossed bp has gone down (or at least not up!)

buzzybee · 04/12/2007 04:54

Good luck Meme and CP! CP sounds like the right choice for you and as others have said elective C/S better all round than emergency.

Caz that was me complaining about snide comments re working through to 39 weeks!

Just had m/w here and all good. Measuring spot on for 38 weeks which is what I will be on Friday. Pee, BP and LO heartbeat all good too and MW says head now less "palpable" she thinks maybe 2/5 engaged. Have been having less digestive problems so all pretty positive really!

Bouncingturtle · 04/12/2007 09:21

Aww Meme - of course she'll like you - she'll love you . Oh you've just made go a bit teary - I've been feeling a bit scared too!
Best of luck and keep thinking happy thoughts {{{hugs}}}

Morning an happy thoughts to everyone else(except Beckle's meany boss - good kick up the arse is what he needs!), expecially you ChocP - sounds like a worrying time for you, but hopefully you'll get the birth you want.

Ambi · 04/12/2007 09:23

fifisworld · 04/12/2007 09:23

Has anyone heard from Thelady???

cazzybabs · 04/12/2007 09:28

Do you think these December babies are all going ot be late?

Caz10 · 04/12/2007 09:29

aah so it was, well full sympathies buzzybee, i know plenty of people shared their "kind opinions" with me about working so late! Grrr!

mellymooks flylady is an american website, will attempt a link..www.flylady.net/ you can sign up for daily emails, it is basically a system for keeping on top of cleaning etc, she gives you daily tasks, rotas, philosophies etc! I was doing quite well until early pregnancy when morning sickness and total exhaustion really floored me, and then laziness just stopped me going back to it!

Might try again this week....might not....!

Happy due date Ambi! and how are things progressing Meme?!!

Got Mw appt tomorrow and will ask for a sweep but hoping it works, got my BF's wedding week on Sat I really want to go to. Babies pick their own time to make an appearance though don't they...

Ambi · 04/12/2007 09:59

Loopy I too am dreadful at housework, used to save it up and then spend weeks at it, FLYing works for me cos it's only cleaning at 15 mins at a time!! (I'm a lazy bint)Still not 100% but wanted the house decent before LO makes an appearance. I think Amani it the cleanaholic on here.

cazzybabs · 04/12/2007 10:06

OHH i am getting a wee bit panicky now!!! When is this baby going to come? How am I going to cope with 3? Will I be allowed by homebirth? See this is why too much maternity leave is a bad thing...too much thinking time!

mellymooks · 04/12/2007 10:15

Morning everyone!

Flylady sounds intriguing, i too am hopeless at keeping on top of house work, both of us are real clutter bugs and totally rubbish at putting stuff away.

I'm starting to lose track of who is having what when and who is feeling things etc - so good luck everyone!!

I'm not feeling much today, so looks like my bro's prediction is wrong!

RGPargy · 04/12/2007 10:19

Morning ladies

Have had a big show this morning and am still showing now too. Still got my grumbly tummy so i'm hoping that today is the day!

I'm hopeless at housework too but i dont think an email will get me to shift my lazy arse into action!

mellymooks · 04/12/2007 10:22

Cazzy - try not to worry - you will be fab. I know what you mean about too much time though, my mind is on overdrive now, but cause i'm tired and huge i don't feel inclined to keep really busy, but then when i'm not busy my mind spiralls off.....

Good news RG - hope it really gets going today.

Amani · 04/12/2007 10:32

Morning ladies,

Had a very productive morning - got the weekly shopping done (don't ask how many cakes I came back with) and semi-cleaned the house - must stop! DD at nursery this morning and nothing exciting on the 999 skt channels that I have, think I might put a movie on and see if I can make some in-roads on the cakes!

Happy due date Ambi.

RGPargy and meme - hope this is it for you hun.

Any news from Wizzska?

All the best with your choc

loucee · 04/12/2007 10:33

good luck RG , hope things start moving for you soon.

Just going to the shops quickly to get some bits and bobs, has anyone got any other tips for post birth recovery other than:

Arnica pillules
Tea tree oil, lavender oil (for bath and pads)
femepads
witchhazel
nipple cream
moist loo roll/wet wipes
big mat pads then slimmer ones

Obviously you don't HAVE to have the above but I found the oils great after DD and if I have another episiotomy then the femepads will be a godsend I'm sure.

I'm 38 + 1 today, and suddenly the comments of "oh you're huge" have turned into "what a neat bump you have", typical!
Had to go to the day assessment place yesterday as had really weird eyesight, out of both eyes I could see loops with furry edges - like the effect when you see just above a fire in a distant all hazey. Checked on baby and bp, urine etc and everything was ok but BP was up then down then up again so MW is checking me again friday.

skidaddle · 04/12/2007 10:50

morning all,

Sounding good RG and meme.. let us know,, reckon yours might be today RG, how exciting

Happy due date ambi!

Good luck at the mw cazzy - how was your bp?

Sounds like everyone spent the weekend cleaning and organising so let's hope these babies arrive soon to appreciate it

insy - great your DH is home again. Our babysitters are back too so any time from now would be fine (as I keep telling my bump)

Loopy - completely second the thinking of 42 weeks as your due date. Going overdue is unbearable otherwise... although 42 weeks is 25th December for me and not sure I want to be huffing and puffing while everyone else is tucking into their turkey!!

Are we still waiting to hear from thelady and ambi?

skidaddle · 04/12/2007 10:57

loucee - that's exactly what I have minus the femepads (what are they?) - I was really sore and uncomfortable for 8 weeks last time (3rd degree tear) so want as much soothing stuff as poss this time

was also thining about getting those silverette things in case of sore nipples when bf - has anyone got them - what exactly do they do?

chocpeanut - forgot to say in last post - best of luck for tomorrow and will be thinking of you xx

Housemum · 04/12/2007 11:11

What are silverettes? My mum used to have a silverette typewriter but I don't think that would help...

RGPargy · 04/12/2007 11:34

Skid - thelady had her baby in November!!!

Housemum - I dont think plonking a flippin' great typewriter on your norks will help much either! IIRC Silverettes are nipple shields made from silver or containing silver at least. The silver is very healing apparently. Something like that anyway!
