Hello and congratulations, lovely lot.

It's been a bumpy road so DP and I aren't telling anyone until late September. But I need to talk to someone!!!

How are you?

Could I please have some recommendations for a three in one bassinet, buggy and car seat system - we need to buy one and it’s the last thing on our checklist, seems to be the most difficult for us and there’s so many out there! Thanks lovely ladies x

Staryflight445 · 05/03/2022 18:38

What do you mean by 3 in 1?

A travel system?

We’ve gone for bugaboo fox 2, with maxi cosi car seat, if clips on the pram base with an adapter you buy separately.

Most prams are travel systems these days, might be best to go have a look?

Staryflight445 · 05/03/2022 18:40

I went for this as it’s small, I was looking at the lynx but thought I’d go for the slightly bigger fox 2.

You might be interested in fox 3? It’s brand new, this is baby 3 for us so not really interested in spending so much on one 😅.
@Staryflight445 I was 31 plus 5 and baby was 2kg so that’s about 4 pounds 7 ounces..so looks like we both gave babies the same weight 🥰 I can’t remember if your having a boy or girl I’m not sure if they change the percentiles based on the gender. I bought a lively comfy navy pair of pjs in primark yesterday on sale only 10 euro I bought a size small and loads of room as super stretchy
@Staryflight445
@FinnsMammy I'm 32+4 and had a scan at 32+0 she was 4lbs5. Based on that and thinking I'm unlikely to go early I've started buying 0-3months. It's all feeling much more real 😍😍

We got a cybex gazelle 7 piece travel system. Came with a bassinet, toddler seat and a car seat and isofix base suitable from birth plus the foot muff, cup holder etc. it was more expensive than others but as this is our first and we want another we were happy to splash out. Added bonus is if we are lucky enough to have 2 under 2 it has configuration to allow for both seats. We initially wanted a bugaboo but said no because with the exception of the donkey (it's massive) you can't. Let us know what you decide on
FinnsMammy · 06/03/2022 19:56

@Emmasfirstbump88 I have the uppababy vista I love it. I have used it for my son but I’ll be doubling it up as a double buggy for this baby as my toddler loves his buggy . I have the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat which you can just clip into the uppababy frame with the correct adapters x

35 weeks today and really starting to feel pregnant 🙈 maybe because it’s baby #2 but I feel so immobile today 🙈 Lightning crotch is a killer too 🙈🙈

Staryflight445 · 07/03/2022 11:38

Same here @FinnsMammy

The pressure when walking is intense 🤯

FinnsMammy · 07/03/2022 15:10

@Staryflight445 never had this with my first either have a feeling I’ll go early with this one. I hope your feeling good otherwise xx

Staryflight445 · 07/03/2022 19:18

@FinnsMammy ah, it gets worse each subsequent pregnancy.
Im finding it a lot harder right now with no3.

Not long to go now! xx

Emmasfirstbump88 · 08/03/2022 07:51

@Staryflight445 @FinnsMammy @wannabeamummysobad thank you so much for the suggestions!
So, last night I went and bought the Fox 2 8 piece travel system from kiddies kingdom. It was a good deal (wasn’t too bothered about the newer Fox 3 as there didn’t seem to be much updated to warrant the huge price increase!) it also comes with the Turtle Air by Nuna car seat which we liked as really light weight.
Think we are set! Thank you again it was so helpful :)

Staryflight445 · 08/03/2022 08:13

Ah that’s brill! @Emmasfirstbump88

I really do think it’s a great option, I had a silver cross with my first, it was too big and clunky!
Used double strollers when had my second.

wannabeamummysobad · 08/03/2022 14:55

@Staryflight445 great to hear. I agree there is no real difference between the fox2 and 3 - when we considered a bugaboo even the mammas and pappas consultant advised not to bother with the 3 and get the 2 in the sale.

Enjoy!

Emmasfirstbump88 · 15/03/2022 18:40

How’s everyone doing? I’m 35 weeks today and feel huuuuge! Also pretty sure he has dropped as the last couple of days the lower pelvic pain has been really bad.
Finish work at the end of this week, and then can hopefully spend the next 3-4 weeks finishing preparing and mostly laying around relaxing 😌 🤣

wannabeamummysobad · 16/03/2022 08:02

@Emmasfirstbump88 I'm 34 weeks today! Baby is 4/5ths engaged and back to bump - feeling really excited about meeting her in a few weeks.
I'm definitely taking longer to walk plus need to moisturise with an emollient before a walk to stop my body itching.
Over the next week or 2 I need to pack a hospital bag and write my birth preferences. So exciting that in a few weeks I'll be a mum! Grin

FinnsMammy · 16/03/2022 12:48

@Emmasfirstbump88 exciting stuff! I’m 36 weeks baby number 2 and defo have not dropped I am still flying around the place lol I feel like I’m going to go late with her id be surprised if she comes before her due date! Cannot wait to finish work in 2 weeks am so busy all the time so over it!!! 🙈 excited to be on mat leave during the hopefully nice weather !

FinnsMammy · 16/03/2022 12:49

@wannabeamummysobad how did you find out you were 4/5th engaged? Just curious I had my 36 week appointment yesterday hey told me she was heads down but no mention of whether she was engaged or not .

wannabeamummysobad · 16/03/2022 13:20

@FinnsMammy my midwife felt my tummy and pelvis then wrote it in my blue book.
Every appointment they tell me how engaged baby is. Up until 28 weeks I was free, at 32 weeks she was 3/5ths engaged and at my 34weeks 4/5ths.

They've always told me.

thatsnotmydog · 16/03/2022 13:29

Hi everyone I used to be a member of a few April threads but they all disappeared and nee ones were not created. I am 37 weeks now and over the moon as I had a lot of spotting in the early days

FinnsMammy · 16/03/2022 14:07

@wannabeamummysobad that’s interesting I must ask them in my next appointment. ☺️ @thatsnotmydog welcome and congrats xx

Staryflight445 · 16/03/2022 14:15

Almost 36 weeks! We’re getting there guys! Not long to go at all!

Staryflight445 · 21/03/2022 07:00

Anyone else completely terrified of birth?
This is my third, so I feel like I know what to expect.

🤯

FinnsMammy · 21/03/2022 09:48

@Staryflight445 yes this is my second time but first didn’t go exactly to plan and little guy spent a week in NICU so yes I’m 37 weeks now and starting to worry ! 🙈

FinnsMammy · 21/03/2022 09:50

How is everyone else that is still working doing? I’ve only a week or so left of work but I am wrecked and struggling today 🙈 so much to tidy up and hand over before I go on leave but I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep 😴

Staryflight445 · 21/03/2022 09:51

That sounds awful @FinnsMammy 😢

I think I’m being induced in just over 2 weeks, scary times!
