Hello and congratulations, lovely lot.

It's been a bumpy road so DP and I aren't telling anyone until late September. But I need to talk to someone!!!

How are you?

They haven’t showed me the heartbeat during any of my scans during my other 2 pregnancy’s.
They use a Doppler though in your midwife appointments and that tends to be what you can record.

@hol56

wannabeamummysobad · 29/09/2021 09:53

Finally had my MW booking in appointment incl blood tests. Found out I'm O negative so will have to have anti D injections at 28weeks.
Told DM and she mentioned she was O negative so had the injection too. Though randomly she switched to Positive by the time she had DB 9 years later.

DH is O positive so 50:50 what baby will be.

I'm not too worried as now I know but even more on the lookout for any spotting, bleeding or tummy trauma-thank goodness haven't had any to date.

hol56 · 29/09/2021 11:22

Nub Theory ?!

Had my first scan, they think it’s almost 13 weeks so further than we thought, back next week as baby wanted to boogie too much and they couldn’t take measurements!

Any guesses on gender? I’m too impatient

Please don’t be worried about being rhesus negative, if you had any bumps or bleeding you’d have to be checked anyway. It really isn’t a major issue these days.

Your mum must be mistaken, perhaps it was something else?

@wannabeamummysobad

wannabeamummysobad · 29/09/2021 22:06

@Staryflight445 yes I'm sure it will be fine- many preg

wannabeamummysobad · 29/09/2021 22:11

@Staryflight445 yes I'm sure it will be fine- many pregnant women are Rh negative.

Nope, she's correct- that's what her medical records say. Obviously the lab technician may have made a mistake when DM was pregnant with me 30+ years ago (hopefully not though as I'm booked to give birth at the same hospital) but with the info she was provided and the info still on her records she went from negative to positive.
Aah well, no harm no foul

llamabeans · 30/09/2021 08:09

How's everyone doing? All these scans are so exciting! I had mine on Monday and am about a week ahead.

My twins are sharing a placenta so that means appointments with a consultant every two weeks, on top of all the normal midwife/scans. Might as well buy a season ticket for the hospital car park, but at least I'll get to see them often. It also means they're going to be identical!

Staryflight445 · 30/09/2021 08:21

@llamabeans that’s really exciting but sounds really tiring. Some hospitals you can redeem your parking money back so it may be worth asking when you go next.

I have my scan this afternoon, I’m really anxious about it, everything bad always happens to me so I seem to fill my mind with this first.

@hol56 how did your scan go?

BooSaidTheGhost · 01/10/2021 16:31

Hope everyone is feeling alright and scans are going well. Mine isn't for over a week yet and I'm trying to stay calm and not be anxious but it's hard! I keep looking in the mirror to decide if I look bigger round the middle but to be fair it's probably just cake Grin can't do my jeans up now.

Tallulahh3 · 01/10/2021 18:22

Can I please join the April club? I’ve been nervously watching the thread for weeks, but now I’m at 13 weeks and had my nipt test (low risk) results back so can finally say ‘I’m pregnant’ out loud to myself! The nerves have been unreal but seeing little one waving on screen was the best moment ever Smile

FinnsMammy · 04/10/2021 12:19

@hol56 sorry hard to say one pic looks like a girl and the other a boy according to the nub theory ...lol

@Staryflight445 how did you get on?

@BooSaidTheGhost when is your scan mine is on Friday I’ll be 13 plus 1. I’m super nervous too as I miscarried in June so really hoping everything is ok. I have a belly and symptoms so I’m hoping it’s all good 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Tallulahh3 congrats.x

Staryflight445 · 04/10/2021 12:27

@FinnsMammy all fine thank you! Was only 11+1 though so I’m returning on Thursday to do it all again, so I can do the screening tests as they only do those from 11+2.
I need to remember to drink more too as baby was nice and comfy and wouldn’t budge, they’d be forced to if my bladder was nice and full.

FinnsMammy · 04/10/2021 12:31

Congrats @Staryflight445. Keep us posted on how you get on. Can you find out the gender in the NIPT? I’m dying to know I guess first things first I have to have my scan and make sure I have a healthy bean ! X

Staryflight445 · 04/10/2021 12:42

I’m not having NIPT but just the standard 3 chromosomal checks using nuchal translucency and then the blood test to go with it.

I don’t think you can find out gender until 16 weeks unless you get one of the blood tests that cost around £500 (the harmony test).

I’ve always found out the gender during the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, they usually do all the checks and then tell you at the end if you want to know ☺️

@FinnsMammy
I'm relating to what you said so much! My scan is on Friday too and I'll be 13 weeks exactly. And I miscarried in July so i know exactly how you feel. (I am also calling it a little bean) good luck, I really hope your scan goes well and your mind put at ease 🤞🏻

wannabeamummysobad · 04/10/2021 13:21

My scan isn't for 2 weeks (will be 12+5)
and can't wait! Because this is my first pregnancy and am one of the supposed lucky ones with light symptoms MN whipped me into a frenzy 🤣🤣 about my pregnancy progress so have had 2 early scans (7+2 and 10+2 weeks) the latest one being on Saturday and baby is doing amazingly. We got video of waving and lot's of movement, heartbeat really strong.

Glad everyone's scans are going well

FinnsMammy · 04/10/2021 15:17

@J09x best of luck . I have a little boy already he just turned 2 and I didn’t even try for him.we started trying for baby number 2 in February I had a chemical in March got pregnant straight away but miscarried at 11 end of June. Then I got pregnant again straight away with this baby. I feel like I have been pregnant fit so long already so I’m glad to finally make it to he second trimester lol I know I’m lucky I got pregnant so easily but it’s been a long wait now. 🙈I just really hope this is all ok. I had a private scan at 8 weeks and all looked good so I’m just hoping it continued🤞🏻 Best of luck to you too it’s nerve wrecking xx

BooSaidTheGhost · 04/10/2021 18:54

@FinnsMammy my scan is next Monday and I'll be 12 wks on the dot. This is my second baby but first with my new DP. My exH left me out of the blue when my eldest was 21 months and was shagging someone nearly half his age within weeks. That was 4 years ago. We co-parent amicably but it's been hard. I never thought I'd find someone as wonderful and loving as my DP, he is fantastic and he and my DD adore each other. I really never thought I'd be pregnant again either (I'm 40 now). We're moving into a lovely new house in a month. I think the sense that my 'happy ever after' is within touching distance is making me feel additionally anxious on top of a high risk pregnancy, and I just want to hear that heartbeat now and be able to feel reassured.

Sabristhebest · 04/10/2021 19:21

Hello everyone and congrats to all mamas!
Thought I'd join as I'm due in April, I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks in May unfortunately and feel very lucky to get pregnant so soon after.
I've also got my scan on Friday and I'll be 13 weeks on the dot too (@FinnsMammy @J09x good luck guys! Super duper nervous)
Though going by my LMP I should be 14 weeks, but I had a epu scan due to bleeding and cramps and measured a week behind but all was well.

FinnsMammy · 06/10/2021 08:28

Anyone else struggling with sleep with a toddler? He has been to between 1 and 4am the last few nights in a row then up at 5:30am for the day !I know it’s only a temporary sleep regression but fml I miss my sleep! My first pregnancy I had so much sleep it was bliss to those of you on your first pregnancy soak it up !!🙈

Staryflight445 · 06/10/2021 11:02

Not struggling with sleep but had a bleed last night during sex which completely freaked us out.
Early pregnancy unit seem unconcerned though but called me in to go get an anti d (im rhesus negative).

Hopefully all is ok! No cramping or anything thank goodness.
Hope everyone else is doing good.

BooSaidTheGhost · 06/10/2021 12:06

@Staryflight445 do hope everything is alright, can understand why you felt worried but hopefully the EPU has reassured you.

@FinnsMammy poor you! Hope you can find little moments to try and put your feet up. No toddler my DD is nearly 6 but I definitely just feel knackered generally, much more this time. Midwife said "well of course you do, you're parenting while pregnant, it's a whole different ball game!" I look so different in photos of me pregnant the first time, so fresh faced and glowing! Where did she go?! 😂 Saying that it's swings and roundabouts. I didn't have the benefit of experience I have now, not that I know all there is to know about parenting and raising a newborn of course, but having been through it all, and navigated single parenthood for 4 years before I met DP, I trust my own judgement and strength in a way I never did before.
