My friend has felt loads and it's her first one. I think it depends on position of baby and uterus etc. I sometimes think I do but can't be sure really - think there is bit too much flab masking it!

Speaking of flab - if one more person tells me how big I am for April baby I am going to hit them. Why is it OK to tell someone they look fat just because they are PG? Grrrr

elliegirl · 28/11/2007 11:05

Thanks ladies. Feel better for that. Was beginning to feel like a numpty for suggesting it in front of my friend. I'm convinced they are kicks and I've felt loads as well. Seem to happen in the same place as well and mostly late in the day.

As for the flab issue - you're not alone EllieG. People are remarking on my belly too. But I suppose it doesn't help that I'm only 5 ft tall and look like Mr Greedy.

By the way EllieG - have you had your scan yet or is it coming up?

Annieroo · 28/11/2007 11:06

I have exactly the same - i measured myself last night - 25cm off above the line on the chart already!! Kind of lucky in work though - there's 3 of us in the office who are pregnant one due in March, me in April and another due in May. So far I'm the biggest out of all of them and i'm only little (5' 3" and a size 8)!!

chipmonkey · 28/11/2007 11:06

I've always felt movements very early, and am sure I have from 12 weeks on this one!
SIL on the other hand has never felt a thing till 22-24 weeks. It really is a very individual thing.

EllieG · 28/11/2007 11:32

I shall stop worrying about being big for dates then. Just means baby has lots of lovely protective fluid around it I reckon. Love MN - no one else in RL knows what to say to all these silly worries!

scampmum · 28/11/2007 11:36

I have felt scrabbling at about 11-12 weeks (I swear! very distinctive feeling) both times then nothing till around 16-18 weeks. Both times felt it a bit in a kind of generic way before it became definite, obvious kicks. Now feeling loads (18+5) and had forgotten how much I love it! Well, not rationally forgotten but emotionally forgotten if that makes any sense at all. Bit worried it is TOO reassuring i.e. it is stopping me from remembering that we might get bad news at the scan. DH was very sweet last night saying he's not worried about the heart at all and that DS isn't really bad news - I totally agree with him in theory but have the paranoid mother thing overlaying it in practice.

scampmum · 28/11/2007 11:39

All the girls I know who have been big for dates have come home from hospital 2 1/2 stone lighter, whereas I put on 2st 3ish last time and came back having lost less than DD weighed at birth! go figure... so I must have absorbed all her amniotic fluid (waters never did break unless it was in the bath or pool) and had a big meal and drink! Trying to say please, please don't worry about weight gain or being big for dates etc.

EllieG · 28/11/2007 11:40

Thank you scampmum x

Soph73 · 28/11/2007 11:58

Hi elliegirl, annieroo & chipmonkey. The Lab Assistant thought I was 8 months pg yesterday

Soph73 · 28/11/2007 12:00

She was very embarrassed once I´d put her straight I mean, I´m big but not that big ... or maybe I´m just disillusioned!

scampmum · 28/11/2007 12:03

I snapped at the girl who sits next to me (intensely annoying anyway) for saying 'your bump IS growing, isn't it?' this morning. Like, DURR. Yes, the baby gets bigger, that's what happens. What is the polite, normal person's response to that, please? Beatific smile and request for a cup of tea?

scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:04

Today, i am mostly making camel masks and cookies for school. i didn't realise parents needed homework too! imagine when i have all 3 in school, eek!

VictorianSqualor · 28/11/2007 12:05

Hiya everyone.
I am so bloody tired
Bbay is keeping me awake most nights, and even if it lets me sleep for some of the night it wakes up and beats the crap out my uterus at around 4am every morning. I do wonder if it's going to be 'feed time' when it's here because both my other two did this for the last half of the pregnancy and woke at 4am for their feed.

Anyone else been having this??
I also dreamt that I was baking cakes with noel fielding and that he kept calling me Michelle

I have been waking up at least once a night, but Millie wakes up just as im going to bed, about 10ish, and i fall asleep and she is still kicking.

Lots of dreams though - horny ones, scary ones.

Sheds75 · 28/11/2007 12:17

VS I too am suffering with lack of sleep, he is quite active at about 10pm and then again at about 3:30am sounds like we are giong to be in for some fun

EllieG · 28/11/2007 12:22

No kicks at night for me but loads of dreams - am quite enjoying the horny ones though

scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:23

Ellie

oh and my milk appeared yesterday. it freaked me out!

Redmonster · 28/11/2007 12:32

Thats funny Scorpio...my bean is doing the same thing..wakes up around 10 or 11 every night and starts thumping away. Its a nice way to be sent off to sleep!

Soph73 · 28/11/2007 12:35

scampmum - "so is yours" with beatific smile on your face
I normally wake at about 2.30am so maybe it´s lo waking me up. Where are my horny dreams I just have weird ones!
LOL at vs

scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:37

3 people asked me yesterday if millie was an accident.

is there a rule where anything over 2 is questioned? i said 'no, 6 mths ttc was not an accident'

VictorianSqualor · 28/11/2007 12:40

I got the same question when I first fell pg, I had one of my friends call me at 11pm after I'd sent the texts out to everyone at about 8ish, I couldnt be bothered to talk so dp answered the phone and the apparently my friend was really shocked, and he asked DP if we had been trying for one as if it was impossible we could have been.

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:42

i've also had the telly broken questions and dp told to tie a knot in it. What is wrong? we don't get any benefits, dp works FT, im a SAHM & student so trying for myself too, kids v happy - so where is the issue?? its just so personal isn't it?

chipmonkey · 28/11/2007 12:42

at that, scorpio! Come and live over here in Ireland! I'm expecting no. 4 and there are lots like me in our estate, definitely not unusual at all!

ToastAddict · 28/11/2007 12:47

morning (ish!)
at Scorpio and the ladies being told they are big - I cannot believe how people think they have the right to ask/say such rude things?

Whose business is it if the pg was planned, a surprise, a horrible mistake or desperately wanted?? You just do not ask those kind of things!! And as you've said earlier, saying "you look big" is just saying "you look fat" and you'd never say that normally! Grrrr

On a lighter note, loving the horny dreams and sleep orgasms

scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:48

has someone else had sleep orgasm then?
