I have no motivation for my course at the moment. i just have so much work to do, plus children, house and everything having children involves, plus being 5 months pregnant!!

i am ploughing on through it though, it will be worth it.

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 11:42

Scampmum, dp is the same, when we went for our last scan I had to book up my growth scans and antenatal appnts with my consultant for the same days, I booked them with him, he chose the times, and he KNOWS now that I have to be at the hospital at 3:30, I've told him I'll happily go into the city by myself as long as he meets me at the hospital, I guarantee he'll have some form of meeting that day though, and will not book a day off for 2 hours.

He has refused to book xmas eve off as well because apaprently they will be going home at about noon so it's a waste of day, even though we had planned to drive over to Northampton to take the kids to see their family, but after what twits they ahve all been lately I don't care, and have told him not to take ti off, they can see the kids on the sinday instead. But I was annoyed it was meant to have been booked off ages ago.

Apparently people might have been annoyed that he keeps booking days off here and there, but like I said, he is using his holiday a day at a time for antenatal appointments arounf every 4-6 weeks. No-one is left having to do his work, any of his clients can still call him apart from the time we are actually in the appointment, most of his colleagues take two weeks off and expect everyone esle to do their work. (They work on advertising for the oxfordshrie newsgroup so there are deadlines to be met every day) Surely his odd days off are better than blocks of days??

[to be honest i dont know why i had it done because even if it came back high risk i would still love my baby no matter what the out come]. hows everyone doing then x

Soph73 · 29/11/2007 11:54

Scorpio - well done matey Keep going, thinking of you & sending lots of study vibes your way. VS & Scampmum - aahh DPs/DHs can´t live with 'em ... & all that bollards I´m calming down now, although still haven´t spoken to DH yet

Soph73 · 29/11/2007 11:56

rdk - hi there. I´m OK, have 20 wk scan tomorrow morning. We didn´t bother having the test for the likelihood of Downs as we both decided it didn´t matter. However, he´ll be doing the nuchal fold thingy tomorrow anyway.

sagitta · 29/11/2007 11:59

Sorry to hear about dps, VS and scampmum. Mine is same. He's been working really hard recently, not seen DD at all in the week, but promised me he'd take most of December off. . But he'd forgotten to say he'd be in Egypt till tonight this week, and Holland all of next week. Told me on Sunday. And he's working following week - so not really taking off Dec at all.

Just found list he gave me of things to do while he's away. Dry cleaners (forgot), decorate spare room (not done) and talk to nursery about extension for tomorrow as I'll be out and he'll be here. (forgot). So it's not just DPs that are crap

Soph73 · 29/11/2007 12:02

sagitta - I take it he doesn´t expect you to do the decorating but get someone to do it for you? We´re not crap, we´re pregnant, it´s excusable

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 12:06

I want a Doula.

OP posts:
Soph73 · 29/11/2007 12:08

Why, will she help sagitta with the decorating

sagitta · 29/11/2007 12:12

That sounds good.

Working at home today, so time to stop pretending to work, and get out the paint brushes. He's back at 11pm. Do you reckon I can get a whole room done by then - and attempt to do some work? (DD back at 5)

scampmum · 29/11/2007 12:14

That's true - I did just pay in an expenses cheque for him (I work opposite the bank and he doesn't have one near) in, er, September? I hope it was still valid!

Well done Scorpio, I can't believe you're managing. Massive hats off to you. Like Ellie said, I had nothing else to do at uni (well, apart from spend my loan on booze and soft drugs) and still managed to get approx. 0 assignments done on time. I do think I'd appreciate the opportunity to study a lot more if I did it now, but where I'd find the time I have NO idea.

Well done VS on the gig - very impressed! We had tickets to see Bob Dylan around this time last time and I sold them because I was worried about the smoke. Was just thinking as I sipped my coffee (caf - small cup!) in a meeting that last time I didn't even drink any tea for fear of caffeine and certainly wouldn't have stood near DH whilst he was having a fag like I did last night. Poor sidelined second child!

On dreams again, I am dreaming about posting on Mumsnet! - spot the enthusiastic newbie/addict. I want VS's (I think?) dream about Noel Fielding, though. I wouldn't mind what he called me (maybe not Bollo).

scampmum · 29/11/2007 12:15

FROM September (the cheque). Just for clarity's sake - I don't think it was in the running for most interesting post of the month...

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 12:19

Ah scampmum, smoking is illegal in a public place now.
Even pete doherty questioned whether he was able to have one on stage!

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 12:20

Also my dream about Noel Fielding was so weird. He was lovely and even though he called me Michelle we were great friends.
Also did you know he can ice a 50" round cake?? (well in my dream he could anyway)

OP posts:
sagitta · 29/11/2007 12:24

noel fielding dreams. Also saw thread on Evan Davies so hoping to dream about him soon.

I'm doing same scampmum - drinking loads of coffee (last time I was constantly trying to find out excatly how much I could drink)and generally being bad pregnant woman.

scampmum · 29/11/2007 12:25

Of course! Now all I have to do is reacquaint myself with my music preferences and get a babysitter!

sagitta · 29/11/2007 12:26

and have the energy to stand up for a few hours...

Soph73 · 29/11/2007 12:29

Nice to see we're as barmy as each other Still haven't had any interesting dreams yet! VS - now that´s a big cake! Oh, who´s Noel Fielding?

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 12:33

awww, DS just told me he was going to feed baby bread when it's born, so i told him how baby is going to have milk, clever little tyke asked me 'cows milk' so I told him, 'no, mummys milk' and explained how I fed him. I then showed him this video and he thinks it is hilarious and keeps trying to suckle my belly!!!
Noel Fielding is the dude on this in glitter, with russell brand.
I have to say I could happily dream about this every night

OP posts:
sagitta · 29/11/2007 12:40

Thanks VS - think you're conspiring to stop me picking up a paintbrush. Lol at Noel Fielding, but BF one really freaked me out. God!!! Have to do all that again

EllieG · 29/11/2007 12:41

Damn, work internet won't let me look at youtube. They'd ban MN too if they cottoned on to how much time I'm on it! Hee hee.

Everyone is very chatty and have to go to DSD art thing now in lunch hour at school, so will catch up properly later.

Glad scan is re-booked soph and you have stopped wobbling.
Sorry to hear about crappy day saggita - but I'm not sure you shoudl be decorating when PG - what about paint fumes? That's my excuse anyway

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 12:43

I'm re-watching the big fat quiz of the year, with noel and russell, apparently they are on ti again this year, cant wait.

OP posts:
sagitta · 29/11/2007 12:43

Enjoy art thing. Like the paint fumes excuse, but don't think it'll wash with DH.

Got brushes out of cupboard now, so getting there!

VictorianSqualor · 29/11/2007 13:00

COLPOSCOPY RESULTS WERE CLEAR!!!!YAY!!!!

OP posts:
sagitta · 29/11/2007 13:26
