Well it was my sweep with ds last year.
Havent got mine till next weds but I'm hoping I wont need it.

I'd just like to point out that both children have now gone to bother dh on the computer and I am sat downstairs on my own making white and pink pom poms

littleoldme · 30/11/2007 10:56

Nbg - Glad your Dh is feeling better and it isn'tWinter vomming V. Last year it got so bad that we all got 3 days off work whilst the school was deep cleaned. Every cloud ...
The castle sounds like it's going to be avery des res !

Rg Good luck for your sweep. I don't think anything is happening. I've been having niggles for weeks now and have now taken to ignoring them. The dig dis is purely down to gluttony Yesterday I had a chip based lunch and a HUGE chinese for dinner.

Loopy - Thanks for sharing . I keep thinking I'm quite well informed then realise there is something dead basic that I don't know.

I've just cleaned the tops of all the door frames LOL Until about an hour ago I didn't even realise that door frames had tops

Iris - STEP AWAY FROM THE BABIES. You are not allowed anymore until everyone else has got one.

Have a good day one and all.

No sign of Sam this morning eh!

sam86 · 30/11/2007 11:07

i am here!! started gettin contractions (i think as first thing ive had this whole preg! they are in lower back and under bump and quite painful- sort of peak and then ebb off a bit? LO is OP still so is that why they are in back a lot?or is that just coz waters have gone so bit more pressure?) started about 8pm last night about 20 mins apart then went to bed at 11 and they were 9 mins apart, woke at 4am to another load of water and pains 5mins apart, rang hosp who told me to stay at home and take paracetamol and went back to bed to be awoken a few times with bad ones. woke up this morn still 5mins apart and feel like constantly need a wee (!), rang hosp who said come in and since then ive only had 3! (that was an hour ago!) i dont know what to do now? ive got an appointment at the closer hospital in half an hour for the ctg (they dont deliver babies there though) so dont know whether to go to that and see if contractions pick up again or just go to delivery hospital coz theyll do the same thing there anyway!?

(sorry for the life story!) what should i do?!!

LOM- thanks for the clothes- they came this morn and got me all excited again!!! i will have to wing plenty of donuts your way!

littleoldme · 30/11/2007 11:19

Blimey that was quick - I only posted them yesterday!

I suggest that you ring both hosps and see what they say. You won't be the first person to be in this position and it's their job to advise you.

This baby of yours must be very cosy in there! XX

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 12:15

Hi Ladies

I'm back from the MW now (obviously!). Had the sweep (which fckin' HURT!!) but it doesn't look very favourable really. My cervix was very posterior and 3cm thick and i was dilated by 1-2cm. My bishop's score was 1-2. Boooooo!!!! I think LO is very snug in there and doesn't want to come out! I'm booked in for another sweep next Friday (which incidentally is 7th* December!! [ahock]) I just knew this baby would be a December baby! Anyway, MW said that if something didn't happen in the next 36 hours then it was unlikely to happen at all. On a good note tho, she has given me her PERSONAL mobile number! I've got to ring the delivery suite when things happen, but then to also text/call her too. I'm hoping she'll actually come out tho as i was banking on her being there anyway to delivery baby.

DP and I are going to have curry tonight - JIC!!!

Sorry, that's a really long waffle!

Nbg - Oooooh right!! Last year was rather a long time ago then! hehehe

LOM - A chippie dinner AND a chinese for tea is undoubtedly what has given you dig dis in that case!! Sounds like it was worth it tho!

Sam - i should imagine it would be sensible to just stay where you are if your current hospital will just do the same as the other hospital, but I agree with LOM in that you should ring both and find out what you should do. Good luck!!!

Nbg · 30/11/2007 12:51

Oh bugger RG.
Well lots of rocking your pelvis, go up and down the stairs sideways, have sex and down a bottle of tabasco

They say swallowing seman is a good one too but funnily enough no matter how late I've been, I've never wanted to do that one.

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 12:55

Nbg - hmmmm..... semen or tabasco sauce..... No contest really!! Tabasco sauce wins my vote too!

My tummy is a bit sore now and keeps tightening. I've had a bit of spotting too. I take it this is all normal and i should just rest for a bit?

littleoldme · 30/11/2007 13:01

Rg - Maybe we should take spermfast to the Dragons' Den too.

Here's hoping your sweep works. XX

Yeah as I remember I had spotting and only really light then I had a show 2/3 days later IIRC.

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 13:06

Loopy - Oh ok, cool. Will go for a trot round Asda for donuts and shortcake in that case!

LOM - oh yes, Spermfast! I forgot about that one! Perhaps we could convince Deborah to smear it on her face to stop her looking so scarey?

Hi Pixie - longtime no see.

JARM · 30/11/2007 14:11

Hello all!!!

Im home, knackered, sore but SO happy!

Daniel is gorgeous - a little monkey already, but gorgeous.

Will post a birth story later if the boy ever sleeps! (it wasnt good so any 3rd timers PLEASE dont read it!)

He weighed in at 8lbs 4oz for the list!

NBG/RGP - any news girlies? Been thinking of you loads xxx

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 14:31

Hi Jarm!!

Good to have you back - this thread has been quiet without you!!

Looking forward to reading your story when you're rested enough and up to it.

No news here i'm afraid, although i had a sweep today and have been having BIG tightenings ever since!

Take care of yourself and rest up!

Congrats again!!

LK2boyzma · 30/11/2007 16:30

hie all,

Congrats to Jarm on your LOs arrival
Loopy: Thanks for that information you provided about sweeps afew pages back. I really found it useful

I had another sweep today and cervix is softer but the MW did not seem keen to tell me what the bishop'ss score was, saying it fluctuates. Managed to sweep and stretch though. If nothing happens, am going fo ranother one on sunday!

RG- I agree, it bloody uncomfortable. And like you, I had curry for lunch and a little stroll, hopefully, I will not need the Sunday stretch.

Sam- Here is hoping things move on for you

RG- I thought about you today because I remembered you said you were having your sweep today as well. Isn't it annoying when the MW gives you the impression that things are nowhere near where you expect? Fingers crossed, the walk in ASDA will do the magic

Pixiefish · 30/11/2007 16:31

dd2 not gaining weight so rushing everywhere to see all sorts of peeps. on domperidone to increase milk supply hopefully

sam86 · 30/11/2007 16:31

hey everyone! well i decided to just go to the ctg in the closer hospital and rang the delivery suite in main one to tell them i wouldnt be coming as contractions had slowed to pretty much non existent- sods law as soon as i did that they started up again really sore every 5mins, all throughout the ctg and so they referred me to go straight to the delivery suite- which i did- and as soon as got there they slowed again still dont know if have even started dilating coz they dont wanna check coz my waters have gone and dont wanna risk infection (i would love to know these pains are getting somewhere!)anyway, as soon as left the delivery suite, in the lift they started again and another load of water, and since then every 6mins... i so hope this is all over with soon! starting to think she is very shy, or a practical joker, or maybe is a boy and so is bein lazy!! got a bit hormotional on way home n started crying coz felt like such a failure that contractions keep stopping as soon as hosp says comes in

on the plus side they said i can have bath as long as no bubbles etc (so your midwife was right LOM!) and didnt know why the other one had told me i couldnt!

jarm- daniel is soooo cute!! congratulations!!

rgpargy- dont like the sound of the sweep! hope it does bring something on tho, sounds good so far!! did you go for lost or heroes in the end??

lom- yep this morning first thing! thank you so much for them! was like a mini christmas! hopefully will have someone to put in them soon! any news wiv u??

loopy- i am going to take plenty now! fingers crossed theyll work!

hope your all well! missin talkin to you all properly with going the hosp every day!x

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 16:41

LK - ugh, sweeps are soooo uncomfortable aren't they?!!! I was offered a second sweep on Monday and then another on Friday too but i chickened out and just opted for one next Friday. I feel a bit guilty about having a sweep now because the MW gave me the impression LO was nowhere near ready to come out and now i feel like i'm forcing her to come out before she's ready. I'm still very uncomfortable and still getting tightenings, spotting and slight pressure in my bottom with the tightenings, but i dont know how long they are supposed to last for - whether it's just a couple of hours or whether it's normal for it to be 5 hours +++? Anyone know?

Pixie - hope you get DD2 sorted out ASAP!

Sam - You sound like you're having a bit of a mare with those contractions! Talk about stage fright! She'll come along soon, dont worry. I've not watched either Heroes or Lost after all that! I keep planning to but it just never happens. I'm going to be cursing not watching anything when LO arrives!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 30/11/2007 17:33

Sam - According to our NCt tutor it is not unusual for things to slow down for a while when you arrive at hosp, particularly if you are stressed. It's to do with change of environment and stress hormones. I'd say try and relax but I'm not sure it's possible

Loopy - Happy due date !

As for me, well I'm very uncomfortable and crampy in my back. Every time Lo wriggle t's bloody exruciating in my fanjo. Feels like he's trying to burrow his way out. I feel a bit

RG -Not sure Deborah would be into spermfast - all she likes is horses.

Have a lurvley evening one and all.
