lol, thanks loopsy.

I had the constant niggles with ds so at least when he was 10 days over I felt like they had been doing something.

DD was 4 days late too.

I didnt think this one would be on time (although you can wish) but I just dont feel like anything is imminent at the minute. I havent even had a show.

MW has put me down for a sweep on weds though.

My birth story-
Saw the registrar on 22nd as due to a variety of reasons had a great fear of going overdue (I was due on 23rd), he agreed to do a sweep, but after it said that he didn't think it would work as my body was showing none of the signs of going into labour, this was done at midday.
I went for a walk around a shopping centre, hoping that the pressure down would start things going even though the head was only 3 fifths engaged. By about an hour afterwards I thought that I was getting contractions. They got stronger and more regular that evening, went into hospital at 3am the next morning when contractions were 4 minutes apart, only to be examined and be told that I had made no progress at all.
Had half an hour of sleep. interrupted every few minutes by contractions, then decided to get up, walk around and go on birthing ball. When I was examined at 7am I was amazed to find that I was 5cm dilated. Finding contractions hard to deal with by then, as gas and air makes me throw up I had an injection of meptid instead, which also made me sick!
About an hour later had an epidural, which partly took, apart from the top of my left leg and part of the left side of my back. at 1pm felt the need to push and after an hour of pushing my gorgeous lad was born!

RGPargy · 29/11/2007 21:46

Nbg - that sounds like a good idea to stop DCs getting poorly too!

Jossie - Wow, so you were ready after all! Your sweep deffo sounds like it did the trick!! Congrats again on your little fella. Have you got a name for him yet?

3 new babies!!!! Congratulations everyone and hello littlies.

RG - Peter Jones ahs a young family and is very pro any good pg/child related inventions - I'd go for him.

Off to bed now as knackered (notice I posted at 4.20am)

littleoldme · 30/11/2007 03:09

NBG - Poor old you. Don't mean to be alarmist re your DH but Winter vomitting virus is back in these parts - I'm in Leeds and I know Bradford schools are having probs. I'm a teacher and it was a big deal last year. It's v contagious. Might be worth speaking to your docs if you haven't already. Sorry if you know all this ready. Hope he feels better soon.

Silk - Agree with you re Peter Jones too but I forgot his name. Deborah is just scary though.

Loopy - V impressed with your dom godessing.

Jossie - Thanks for sharing your story.

This may well be a stupid question but ... I'm getting lots of crampy pains but only in my back. My Lo is fully engaged and is ceph not back to back. I always assumed these sort of niggles were felt all the round ?

Well my evening out was great fun. However, i ate far too much and am now suffering with dig dis . That's why I'm up now. Think I'm going to go and clean the bathroom.

iris66 · 30/11/2007 06:49

Nbg · 30/11/2007 09:53

Awwwww look at baby Daniel

Beautiful little boy.
Congratulations

RGPargy · 30/11/2007 09:56

Morning everyone!

Silk - Hmmm yes Peter Jones is ok too. We could have him and Theo fighting over our invention! I agree that Deborah is scary! Hope you got some rest, Silk.

LOM - ooooo pains in your back, eh? That's a typical labour sign isn't it? Plus you have dig dis so who knows!!! Oooo how exciting! Keep us posted!

Angel - Daniel is gorgeous!!!! Congrats to you both and thanx for fuelling our baby stalking!!!

Iris - Sod off! You've got one already and i'm still waiting for mine!!!

Got my sweep today. I'm a bit nervous about it because i dont know what to expect. I just hope that the fact that i can hardly walk now means that LO will be along very soon! Can anyone give me a step by step guide to what i should expect? Do you think i should take a pad along with me coz i've heard you can bleed afterwards.

YOU ARE MAD!!!!

LOM, dh is feeling a bit better today but still crampy and achey.
Its deffo gastric flu because he's had it before.
Thanks for the heads up. I know its doing the rounds.
My BIL works at a school in Birstall and SIL at one in Barnsley and she's been on and off with it for the last 5 weeks!
I hope shecan shift it because she has her first IVF appt in 3 weeks.

Today dd and I are going to make a fairy princess castle with a tea bag box and toilet rolls and then some pom poms
If thats doesnt start me off then I dont know what will lol

Nbg · 30/11/2007 09:58

Nbg - thanx for that, i'll take a pad with me then. When did you have your sweep? It's obviously not worked for you coz you are still here!!
