Thought I'd start the new thread, hope you like the title! Best I could come up with I'm afraid!

Egg - thanks so much for the links. The toys r us changer looks great; I will send dp a link to see what he thinks.

Princessllama - No wonder you were cross about the green lolly, but well done for standing up to your MiL; she sounds like a nightmare.

Re raspberry leaf tea, you can get tablets, which are much stronger than the tea, but you are only supposed to take them late (it's either from 34 or 36 weeks, I can't remember). I bought some last week; must remember to start taking them. Tbh though, I understand it's not at all dangerous for a baby to be born any time from 36 weeks, so it probably doesn't matter when you take the tablets now...

I actually really like the taste of raspberry leaf tea but I had some last night and then was sick, so I'm off it a bit at the mo. Felt nauseous till about 2.00am and couldn't sleep - can't wait for mat leave to start so I can nap in the day.

Ooooh, so tablets are stronger than tea?!?! I was confused and thought it was other way round. I am now taking three a day (took two a day at first) as am quite happy for babies to come now, although am intending to get them out on 12 Jan as it is convenient !!

Does anyone ever wonder where the other ladies are who are on our list but never ever post? I hope nothing bad happened to them and that they just drifted away. Just think, we will soon have a NEW list of all our babies!

The woman in the health shop where I bought the tablets told me they are stronger than tea, but that could have been a lie; I didn't do any of my own research.

Just back from MW- All well bp is normal, urine normal-

seems like full steam ahead for homebirth!!! yipee!!!! Head is well down apparently!!!

Got to go and have a scan to get a better idea of babys size and to check all well- yeah more pictures of LO!!!

Really pleased about homebirth !!!!!

MW will come to the house next thurs pm, to discuss pros and cons and drop of required equipment,

DH is now panicking !!!!!

Yeesh, raspberry leaf tea. I drank loads of it last time and ds didn't take a blind bit of notice. Scoffed loads of pineapple too. Didn't try sex though (wasn't that desperate! )

Was just saying on another thread that I will not be desperate enough to try sex to get them out. Ugh....

I'm with you on the sweet aversion too Egg. Ds still gets excited about satsumas and rice cakes and it's staying that way for as long as I can pull it off!!

Egg - your comment about where the people off the list might be got me thinking, we need a refresher of due dates so i have copied the latest role call i could find!!!

Wish DS would eat satsumas. He loves to play with them, he thinks they are balls. He wont eat one though. He gets very excited about rice cakes though, especially the Organix apple ones!

I've ordered some raspberry leaf capsules as I'm not really into hot drinks of any kind. Have the occasional cup of hot choc but that's it! I think they are stronger than the tea and I read that you shouldn't take them until 37 weeks but I'll probably start around 36. I don't necessary believe it starts things off as baby will probably just come when it's ready but it is meant to soften your cervix and speed labour up so I'm all for that (within reason!).

Back at work yesterday after a lovely break but not too depressed as every day worked is a day closer to mat leave!! Finish 2 weeks today - hurrah!! Bessie - your comment re day time naps takes me fondly back to previous pregnancies. When pregnant with ds2 I used to take ds1 to bed with me during the day for a nice nap! Can't see me getting any day time naps this time though as it's a long time since the boys took naps in the day.

Bessie - i bought the Brevi changer from Mothercare - waste of money .

It was too tall for me (i'm 5"6) and its impossible to lift the changing mat up with only one hand. You have to pull a handle to release it. The mat is meant to rest at a 90 degree angle above the bath but only went up to 45 degress. I ordered it over the internet cos my local Mothercare didn't stock it. Mothercare by phone said ok to return to nearest branch. DH and I went to branch in Brent Cross. Staff member told me "Don't stock it here - take it back to a store which stocks it."! I refused (had changer next to me) and said, "OK, i'll plonk myself down until you give me a refund". The manager said that she would give me a refund as a "goodwill gesture". NB - Mothercare policy is to refund most things in store.

Must calm down now - still furious!

Lovemymum - that doesn't sound good. I think we are going to order the changing thing that Egg linked to - it's about £30 cheaper. I am a bit taller than you so hopefully all will be ok. Don't fancy having to bend down to change and bathe all the time. I guess I can try it out when it arrives and send it back if it's not so great.

Have ended up with a cot-top changer from John Lewis. LO is not sleeping in the cot for a few months anyway (she'll be in my old pram).

I think we may end up putting the changing mat on our spare bed when she's using the cot.

Sometimes i think preparing the nursery is more complicated than making wedding arrangements - cos at least with a wedding you don't feel so tired!

Had energy yesterday - today just want to sleep but not able to cos mind racing with things i want to do!

I need a kick up the backside. I can't decide about what carseat or birthing pool to get. 35 weeks now, so time to just make a decision and get on with it... (er, right?!!). I keep looking at hospital bag threads and some people bring SO MUCH in with them, I can't even remember to get a digital camera and some change in there....

Hi everyone!

I need a kick up the backside too - can't be bothered to do ANYTHING except sleep (apart from at night of course, when I'm pacing up and down...grrr!)

Decorated the nursery yesterday which involved sticking 40 farmyard animals around in various poses and it's transformed it! What a fab idea!!! TBH that's about as DIY as DH and I get...

It's cold, daytime TV is rubbish...sleep beckons...

Someone suggested keeping each other up to date with offers. Tesco are currently selling Tommee Tippee 'Closer to Nature' bottles and 'Freedom' breast pump at half price. It was the same price for me to buy a 4 pack of new bottles with teats as to buy 4 teats to fit my old scruffy bottles! I intend to breastfeed again, but expressed last time from about 5 weeks.

Anyone else seen any good offers?

I wish this applied to all of us, but was wondering if anyone in London fancied meeting up for a natter before (and maybe after!!) our lovely babies are born?

Hello everyone

I haven't posted for ages, Am so tired I keep forgetting my computer exists and not really getting on it that much at the moment. I had a bit of a shock on christmas day when after my first good nights sleep in ages I woke up with really skinny legs and realised they have been swollen up like balloons for weeks and I hadn't noticed, just thought I had put on weight as my knees were a bit podgy. Sort of makes me feel better in someways but wonder why they are so swollen.

Also was in lots of pain about 3 weeks ago and could barely move for a weekend, was having mildly painful contractions and though my little one was making an early appearance but luckily it seems he was turning over and is head down now so my plans for a second home birth are continuing- would put up with pain for that to happen as planned.

Hope everyone is doing well and not spending too much money on baby stuff in the January sales although I did get some great bargains in Next.
