Hiya ladies,
Thought I'd start the new thread, hope you like the title! Best I could come up with I'm afraid!

cheers pk- will give skimmed milk a shot. Not a fan of creamy milky stuff, so skim may be the way to go!

Had mad cravings for cheese, and began to wonder if the baby needs calcium and thats why i'm craving it. That's my excuse for eating an entire block of wensleydale anyway!!

Pk616 · 14/12/2007 13:35

Ruva - Ignore your FIL, Sebastian is a good name, It commands respect and it's the name of the patron saint of soldiers! Besides who cares what the name means in Spain? In all arab/muslim countries my name is a boys name and every time I go somewhere like that they try to give me an honourary girls name for the duration of my stay, It doesn't bother me none!
If our little girl turns out to be a boy we're going for Kyuss Zappa, what would your FIL have to say about that!

Egg · 14/12/2007 13:42

PK - why not Dweezil or Moon Unit?

Where does the Kyuss come from? I notice you like your rock and metal on your profile! I used to be a bit of a metal fan, and DH still is .

Egg · 14/12/2007 13:44

I am off cheese . It gives me big headaches at the mo .

Pk616 · 14/12/2007 13:49

Egg - It's a band name - stoner rock, but I thought it sounded like a nice boys name! Have you ever heard of Queens of the Stone Age? They're connected, but I can't remember how at the moment, I think it's the singer when he was but a small lad.

Think back to the days of Thrash and Punk, have you or your DH ever heard of a underground band called Cerebral Fix? My DP is the lead guitarist!!

Cheese AND rock!
What varied and excellent conversations go on on MN!
I wonder if we could combine the two some how and come up with cheese related band names!?

Or maybe I have way too much time on my hands

jooseyfruit · 14/12/2007 14:10

Cheeses and mary chain

jooseyfruit · 14/12/2007 14:15

The Brie Gees.

Pk616 · 14/12/2007 14:17

Talking of Cheese and Rock, here's a man who combines the two and represents it to the rest of us as comedic lounge music. Cue Richard Cheese!!!!

Ruva: Nah, ignore your father-in-law. According to my dp (he's Spanish), Sebastián (with the rather sexy sounding accent at the end) is a name from the countryside but is not gay sounding at all. This is at least how it is in Andalucia...
Go for the name you like, I would say!

Jo9977 · 14/12/2007 16:30

That took off Joosey!

Gill79 · 14/12/2007 17:05

Violeta - I think thrush was the cause of my "bleeding" on Monday - and subsequent hospital visit. The doctor I saw was my first encounter with a male in the whole of the care so far (and only the second doctor) and I can really see now why midwife-led is so much better than doctor-led. He announced at 10.30am BEFORE EXAMINING ME that he wanted me to stay in overnight. Talk about jumping the gun and putting the wind up people (to mix metaphors with style). And then the examination itself was really painful, he just stuck the speculum up when I was almost in a sitting upright position which hurt a lot and then said well it's not really bleeding, oh actually it is now, sorry, my fault and pulled it out to show me how much he'd made me bleed which was quite a lot. So now I want to stay as far away from male doctors as I can and stick with the sensible midwifes.

Actually feel guilty for moaning at least they were there to check me over. Does anyone ever wonder if they'd manage without modern medicine? I find it quite scary to think about - the thought that 100 years ago so many of the things we take for granted wouldn't have existed. Am quite amazed in fact that any mothers or babies survived birth!

Gill79 · 14/12/2007 17:07

oh and BTW thanks for the tip about the DVD Violeta will check it out now.

beansprout · 14/12/2007 20:17

Have just caught up with you all. Choking fits and bleeding both sound pretty scary. I still have the cough of Steptoe, which leads to a certain amount of leaking too .

I am also on sparrow portions, don't seem to have much of an appetite at the moment.

This is the sling I ordered which has arrived today. I did get pretty caught up in getting the "right" one but this one seems fairly straightforward. There is a good guide in the reviews section on MN too. Will see how I get on. I already have a Wilkinet that someone gave me last time but certainly won't be bothering with the Baby Bjorn for it is pants, and no mistake.

alkar · 14/12/2007 21:37

Well I have now finished work and can look forward to a whole year off! If I had carried on any longer I would've had to work 2 night shifts next week and an early shift on Christmas day so I have left a little earlier than I wanted to but hopefully will only have to go back in Jan 2009.

PK - hope you sleep better tonight it sounds horrible. Love the boys name by the way

Violeta rest lots this weekend and get people to look after you

Joosey - happy birthday for Monday, do you have anything nice planned?

Can't believe some of you are loosing your appetites mine is not deminishing at all, just polished off a whole pizza and a large slice of chocolate cake (LO seems to love choc cake!)

jooseyfruit · 15/12/2007 12:07
